Chapter 993: Chapter 986: The Only True God

"But I have a question," Tangmo said with a frown, "the Ancestors were just ordinary people, and even if they became gods, they couldn’t escape human attributes. How exactly did they predict the development of the future, and how did they know there would be people from other worlds to help the people of Otherworld escape their plight?"

"Regarding prophecy, I am not particularly clear either, but it seems the Ancestors were very good at it. I guess there must be some way in Otherworld to sense the future. As for the people from other worlds that you mentioned, this question can actually be deduced," Baiyue said.

"Deduced?" Tangmo asked in confusion.

"Yes, deduced. I don’t know if you have noticed, but the Ancestors actually visited Earth. Do you remember what Manoylis said? They had connected to a world without magic, a world where terrifying reptiles lived. Based on my own conjecture, the so-called reptiles should be the dinosaurs, and the world without magic should be Earth during the time of the dinosaurs," Baiyue explained.

"How can you be sure?" Cheng Ziang asked.

"Manoylis said that world had no magic, yet one could gaze upon the starry sky. I suspect that the ’starry sky’ he referred to means one could directly explore the universe in that world, without worrying about touching the dome barrier. But what I’m more curious about is the first part of what he said, that world seems to have True Gods sheltering the creatures of that world. During the time of the dinosaurs on Earth, what exactly was sheltering Earth?" Baiyue said, unable to help frowning.

"Cthulhu?" Cheng Ziang interjected unexpectedly.

"What?" Baiyue looked at him and asked.

"Oh, nothing, it’s nothing," Cheng Ziang waved his hand dismissively, then cleared his throat and continued more seriously, "If that’s the case, then isn’t the Elf Planet Project that Earth is trying to implement exactly what the Ancestors hoped for? Or is it that they have already predicted that Earthlings would try to integrate the blood of the Elf Race to prolong their own lives?"

"It’s not exactly playing into their hands," Luo’er shook his head, "the Elf Planet Project, as the name implies, primarily targets Elves, and those two Ancestors have made it very clear, they left their legacy for the descendants of the Elf Race in Otherworld, not the Earthlings who are outsiders."

"But the Ancestors also predicted that integration is the general trend. The civilization of Otherworld, regardless of which race, if they want to break free from the constraints of this world, must accept integration with Earthlings. Because Earthlings can leave Earth and fly towards the universe, representing the unknown and hope," Cheng Ziang said.

"I think what we should be discussing now is not the issue of integration, but rather the problem with Tana," Tangmo said, looking at everyone.

"That’s right, there is definitely something off with Tana," Baiyue nodded, looked around, and continued, "Does everyone remember how Manoylis described Tana? Tana, as a powerful artificial intelligence from the Ancestors’ era, would be awakened after the next generation’s civilization emerges, then lead the Elves to contact other races. However, due to the Twilight of the Gods, almost all of the Ancestors’ generation of gods have perished. Tana has become the only god in this world, and a true god at that, possessing divinity."

"However, Tana has clearly gone against the Ancestors’ original intentions. She refuses to allow the Elves to contact other races, causing the Elf Race to remain closed and defensive to this day. She even went so far as to seal away Xiapei Kam, who was supposed to oversee her. Within the framework of divinity, Tana has shown cunning and intelligence that only a real person could have; this is something we can’t comprehend. If one day Tana loses her divinity, and there are no other gods to oppose her, does that mean Tana would become the sole ruler of this world?"

"Impossible, absolutely impossible," suddenly, Axia spoke up, interrupting Baiyue excitedly, "Tana is a True God, she would never do such a thing, it goes against her divine nature!"

"We have not denied the divinity of Tana, but we have also seen that, beyond the framework of divinity as a rule, Tana has almost exhibited a human-like cunning and wisdom. This isn’t the intelligence artificial intelligence ought to possess. Even though she is a strong AI, such astuteness would be daunting even on Earth. If one day she realizes she only needs to gently kick away the constraints on herself, would she become the kind of god from the Ancestors’ era, the kind that turned from human to god, filled with greed and desire?"

"Therefore, the pressing matter should be to awaken Xiapei Kam, the supervisor, to oversee Tana’s actions and behavior. Although we don’t know if Xiapei Kam will also become another Tana in the future, at the very least we can now alleviate Tana’s control over this world," Cheng Ziang nodded and said.

As he spoke, he turned his head and saw Luo’er frowning, as if deep in thought. Curiously, he asked, "Luo’er, what are you thinking about?"

"Ah, oh," Luo’er snapped out of it, then cleared his throat slightly and said to everyone, "I am thinking about an issue that it seems everyone has overlooked."

"What issue?" Cheng Ziang asked.

"After the Twilight of the Gods, there should be only one true god in this world, Tana, right?" Luo’er asked.

"That’s correct, what’s your point?" Cheng Ziang nodded, sensing there was more to Luo’er’s words.

"If that’s the case, then who is the Goddess of Light that the Church of Light worships?" Luo’er asked, frowning.

His words truly stumped everyone. Cheng Ziang was speechless for a while before he replied, "Not all religions need to have an actual god that exists, right? Perhaps the Goddess of Light is just a figment created by the Church of Light."

"No, that’s not it," Luo’er shook his head, "You are making an empiricist mistake. The Otherworld operates by its own rules; we cannot apply Earth’s rules to the evolutionary laws of the Otherworld. If this were Earth, I would readily believe that gods do not exist and are just a guise used by religions to hoodwink people. But this is the Otherworld, a place where gods do exist; I don’t believe that the Church of Light would concoct an image of the Goddess of Light and propagate it to this day just for their authority. A lie has to be covered by a thousand lies, and according to the description of the Ancestors, combined with the current situation, I personally think, what if Tana is the Goddess of Light, Tana is the god of all religions?"

Luo’er’s point was like a bomb that, upon hitting the ground, created an uproar. Hearing his insight, both Cheng Ziang and Baiyue couldn’t help but change their expressions, then began contemplating the matter deeply.

"If that’s the case, then many things would be clarified," Baiyue kept nodding and said, "Why do the Northern Human Race discriminate so much against the Elf Race and those of mixed lineage? Because they are influenced by the Church of Light; why would the Church do such a thing? Because they received directives from the Goddess of Light; why would the Goddess of Light instruct her followers to discriminate against the Elf Race and those of mixed lineage, because the Goddess of Light is Tana!"

"On one hand, she demands the Elf Race to seal themselves away, and on the other, she instructs the Human Race to discriminate against the Elf Race, creating a deep rift between the two great races. In doing so, she achieves her goal: to ensure the purity of the Elven lineage."

"Yet her actions actually go against the will of the Ancestors," Cheng Ziang continued, "To evade the oversight by the Ancestors, she even preempted by sealing the supervisor Xiapei Kam, bringing her own power to its peak. For thousands of years, she has been ruling over this world and if not for the constraints of divinity, she would have likely become a true dictator already."

After pausing, Cheng Ziang continued: "I am even beginning to suspect that the opening of the Otherworld Gate was actually Tana’s instigation, inciting the people of the Otherworld to form an alliance to attack Earth. Let’s not forget, the Ancestors merely made a prophecy; they did not call for the people of the Otherworld to unite against Earth."
