Chapter 815: Chapter 808: The Enemy Attacks

"If that’s the case, I won’t disturb Captain Luo’er any longer." The officer said respectfully, then turned around to signal someone. After nodding to Luo’er as a farewell, the proxy soldiers gradually left the warehouse.

"Boss, do you know him?" Hu Daoke moved closer to Luo’er and asked, looking at the officer’s retreating figure.

"I don’t remember," Luo’er shrugged and then continued after thinking, "But the incident he mentioned, I seem to recall it somewhat."

"What incident?" Hu Daoke asked.

"Do you still remember the first attack launched by the Purification Legion?" Luo’er asked.

"I do," Hu Daoke nodded and then replied, "It seems like we charged into a forest together, and ended up being ambushed by Exotic Insects, nearly getting annihilated..."

As Hu Daoke spoke, he suddenly had a realization and pointed towards the direction where the officer had disappeared, saying, "Ah, I remember now, it was those guys, the soldiers we temporarily summoned!"

"Yeah, it looks like doing good deeds really brings many friends," Luo’er said with a smile, reflecting on the sentiment.

"Oh my, who would have thought, it hasn’t been that long since those rookies were too scared to even fire their guns, and now they’ve become officers." Hu Daoke shook his head and remarked.

"After all, they have been through the trials of war!" Luo’er said, feeling comforted.

"Boss, they’re here," Hu Daoke nearly instantly noticed Azita and his group appearing at the warehouse entrance and hurriedly gave a heads-up.

"Oh my, Captain Luo’er, thank you so much, really, thank you," Azita was overjoyed as soon as he saw the wooden crates in the warehouse and smelled the captivating scent of gun oil in the air, and he reached out his hand eagerly in greeting.

"You’re too kind, it’s what we should do," Luo’er shook his hand, keeping his expression in check as he spoke.

"No, no, no, we will hold your great kindness in our hearts. From now on, Captain Luo’er will be the most esteemed guest of our Hound Gang," Azita said excitedly.

"No need to be so polite, just stop causing trouble at night," Luo’er said with a smile.

"Eh, what do you mean by that, Captain Luo’er?" Azita blinked, feigning ignorance.

"Oh, it’s nothing, just a slip of the tongue," Luo’er laughed, then swiftly changed the subject, "Mr. Azita, come and check your weapons, there should be one hundred AKs here, along with thirty thousand rounds of ammunition."

"Okay, okay," Azita excitedly approached the wooden crates and gestured to his subordinates to open them, revealing neatly arranged rows of brand-new AK rifles that filled his nostrils with the thick smell of gun oil, exciting him immensely.

Indeed, as Hu Daoke had mentioned earlier, these guns were technically Chinese Type 56 assault rifles, but they’re all AK variants, so it’s not wrong to just call them AKs.

Azita picked up an AK rifle and carefully examined this steel and wood machine of war. This was the first batch of advanced weaponry he had acquired since his return to Holy Heart City, and to him, these weapons were undoubtedly of great significance.

"Mr. Azita, this batch of weapons should be enough for you to take on the Booze Ghost Gang, right?" Luo’er asked, observing Azita’s somewhat unrestrained excitement.

"It’s enough, more than enough, I’m really grateful to you, Captain Luo’er," Azita put down the AK rifle and thanked him sincerely.

"No need to mention it, it’s what we should do," Luo’er shrugged and spoke with a smile.

Facing Azita, Luo’er didn’t plan to spill the truth, because from the get-go he had intended to use Azita, not genuinely help him.

Helping a gang unify the underground wouldn’t benefit him at all, on the contrary, as long as he could maintain the current situation, he could use the Hound Gang to restrain the development of the Booze Ghost Gang.

Unless the two gangs could get along peacefully and eventually merge, such strife would go on for a long while, ensuring that no single power could fully control Holy Heart City.

Watching Azita command his men as they eagerly moved weapons, Luo’er hesitated for a moment, then stepped forward and asked, "May I ask, what are Mr. Azita’s plans following this?"

"What do you mean by that, Captain Luo’er?" Azita didn’t answer immediately but inquired tentatively instead.

"Do you mean to ask if I’m planning on retaliating against the Booze Ghost Gang?" Luo’er said.

"Of course, once we get the weapons, retaliation is inevitable," Azta responded. Luo’er had helped him so much, so naturally, he had no reason to hide anything from Luo’er.

"If you’re retaliating, could we join as observers?" Luo’er asked.

"This..." Upon hearing Luo’er’s request, Azta couldn’t help but hesitate.

"Don’t worry, we won’t directly participate in the battle; we’re just there to observe your fighting situation and to summarize some valuable combat experience," Luo’er explained.

"If that’s the case, then naturally there’s no problem, just remember to be careful since weapons do not have eyes," Azta nodded and said.

"There’s no need to worry about that; we have brought our weapons," Luo’er said, showing off the stockless rifles on their backs, wrapped tightly with cloth strips.

"That’s good to hear," Azta glanced at the strange stockless rifle on his body a few times but didn’t press further.

Of course, Luo’er didn’t tell him that they brought the weapons not just for protection against the Booze Ghost Gang but also to guard against the Hound Gang.

To investigate Eve, Luo’er had moved two of his main subordinates, Feng and Fulajie’er, to her side, leaving them now underpowered. Actually, Luo’er felt somewhat uneasy internally about meeting with Hu Daoke; he was afraid Azta might suddenly turn on them.

They were completely without cards up their sleeves now; if Azta suddenly turned on them, they would be left with no one to turn to for help.

As the two stood and watched Azta direct his subordinates in handling the weapons, suddenly, a barrage of gunfire erupted from outside the warehouse. Then, an underling rushed in, panic-stricken, and said, "Boss, the Booze Ghost Gang has come knocking."

"Perfect timing," Azta said, slapping his thigh excitedly upon hearing his underling’s report, "Lads, let them see what our Hound Gang is capable of!"

"Yes!" At Azta’s command, his people immediately became excited, opening the wooden crates on the spot and taking out brand-new AK rifles before starting to load the magazines.

What surprised Luo’er the most was that Azta’s subordinates all seemed to know how to use guns. Watching their skilled movements, it wasn’t hard to guess that they must have been in contact with these weapons regularly.

"Captain Luo’er, the situation is urgent; please leave this place first. I cannot guarantee your safety if you stay here," Azta said with concern on his face.

"Don’t worry about us; we can protect ourselves. Just take care of your own affairs," Luo’er said, waving his hand.

"Then please be sure to stay safe, Captain Luo’er," Azta nodded, gestured for two subordinates to follow Luo’er, and then charged out with the rest of his men, AKs in hand.

"Boss, the fight’s started. Should we go take a look?" Hu Daoke walked up to Luo’er, eager to see the action.

"What do you think, is this attack connected to Eve?" Luo’er didn’t directly answer his question but asked with a furrowed brow.

"You mean, Eve tipped off the Booze Ghost Gang, and that’s why they’re attacking us?" Hu Daoke asked, eyes wide.

"But that doesn’t make sense," Luo’er said, frowning and looking puzzled, "I told her tomorrow. The Booze Ghost Gang shouldn’t be able to respond so quickly, right?"

"Why not ask Fula or Little Fengye when we get back?" Hu Daoke suggested.

"Right," Luo’er nodded and then looked at Hu Daoke seriously, "It’s just the two of us here now. Don’t engage in the fight unless absolutely necessary, or we might not even have the chance to call for help."

"So you’re saying we stay out of it?" Hu Daoke asked.

"Yes, for the time being, let’s just watch. Without Fula or Feng here, I just don’t feel at ease," Luo’er nodded.

"Alright then, whatever you say, boss. I’m with you all the way," Hu Daoke unusually didn’t show disappointment but responded very understandingly.

"Let’s go outside and see what the situation is," Luo’er nodded.
