Chapter 216: Chapter 216 Keira’s Abduction

The one who had been dunking the Nanny in water earlier didn’t know when he stepped toward his colleague in fear.

Kelsie’s eyes naturally landed on the colleague who was casually resting on the wall.

Folding both hands across his chest, he mocked irritably. "Ma’am, these men took Keira? What’s she gonna do, beat us up?"

The first man sighed in displeasure.

"Man, this job was supposed to be easy if this damn old woman hadn’t held on for so long. Now the kid’s mother is here. What do we do?"

His colleague simply shrugged.

"They said to leave no trace of what we did. What do you think we should do besides getting rid of them?"

"By ’get rid of them,’ you don’t mean what I think you mean... right?"

"What do you think I mean?"

"Dunking them both in the water until they’re no longer breathing?"

"Yes, that."

The first man blinked, parting his lips numerous times to say something but nothing came out.

Finally, he stuttered through gritted teeth, "B-but you said all we had to do was dunk the Nanny’s head until she passed out. You said it could be seen as an accident!"

The one resting on the wall turned to leer at him.

"That was then! No one’s gonna believe it was an accident when there are two people involved. Now stop making me talk so much and grab her!

The first guy hurriedly grabbed a fistful of the Nanny’s hair then shook his head in refusal.

"I-I-can’t. I’m holding this old fart in place."

"Fine. I’ll do it." The second man huffed and begrudgingly stepped toward Kelsie only to be sent flying from a kick to the chest.

He crashed against a sink and tried to scramble to his feet, only to cry out in pain when he realized a piece of ceramic was lodged in the back of his leg.

Seeing this, his partner hissed and grabbed a large shard of broken ceramic to attack Kelsie.

"How dare you hit my brother? I’ll cut up your stupid face!"

She kicked the ceramic out of his hand, grabbed a fistful of his hair, and slammed his head into the sink.

Then flung him aside and grabbed his brother on the ground to repeat the same thing.

Unlike his brother who bore the pain silence, he yelled angrily, "That hurts, you stupid wench!"

He hadn’t even finished the sentence when she slammed it again.

His mouth had been open mid-speech, so this time, when she lifted his head, his lips were bloody, and three teeth were sitting in the sink.

Peering into his murderous eyes, Kelsie questioned calmly, "You took my daughter to who?"

"If you want answers from me, you ask me prop..." He was gnashing his teeth when she slammed his face against the sink again.

This time, his nose broke.

Kelsie turned on the tap and sighed.

"I’m a little forgetful. So I’m afraid I might forget I’m dunking someone’s head until they’re no longer breathing."

"But on second thought, you did this crime with your brother. So I’ll just ask him whatever I want if you’re not mobile enough to talk."

She looked at the filling sink and smirked. "Ah, look at that. The water’s rising nicely. Is that your tooth under? Nasty."

She then turned his head by yanking his hair back.

The pain from his scalp made him him grimace, exposing the empty spaces in his mouth.

Seeing this, she pursed her lips.

"They don’t look very nice. Let’s see... if I take out three more from this side and two from here, it’ll look more even. Makes the dentist’s job easier."

A moment later, she tilted her head slightly.

"Actually... wouldn’t it be easier if you had no teeth? That way, the dentist won’t have to shape or match anything. Just start fresh."

She paused to glance at the sink.

"Oh, look. It’s full now. Let’s worry about the doctor if I remember to lift your head in time."

The man’s brows creased in realization of what was about to happen and he opened his mouth to say something.

From the look on his face, she could tell he was about to spill all he knew when all of a sudden, he froze.

Though she didn’t raise her head the entire time, she could see his brother sneaking up on her through the mirror.

At least, he thought he was sneaking.

But just as he got to her, he tripped and crashed to the floor.

Her eyes instantly flicked to the mirror, a small chuckle escaping her lips when she saw the nanny dragging his unconscious body back by the legs.

"You can torture me all you want, but a man like me will never talk!" The man gritted out, feigning more bravado.

Kelsie nodded in understanding.

"I’m aware. That’s why I’ll just ask your brother once I forget to lift your head."

Then she dunked him.

For such a skinny woman, he was horrified to realize he couldn’t lift his head.

Earlier, he hoped the water’s resistance would weaken her grip but it only tightened.

So panicking, he flailed, thrashing and slamming his arms against the sink, but her grip didn’t waver.

After a while, she pulled him out and spat out impatiently.

"Talk."

Coughing, he shook his head.

"I—I don’t know."

She made to dunk him again when he hurriedly began spilling.

"I was called. A hundred thousand was delivered to me in cash thirty minutes later, along with a picture of Keira Sutton."

"It said the kid would be here this afternoon and that, like all kids, she’d need to pee eventually. All I had to do was wait in the children’s restroom. And that’s what I did."

Aurelia clenched her jaw and released her grip on him.

"So where is she?"

He blinked.

"I—I don’t know. Once we grabbed her, some men came to take her. The only thing they said was to clean up the scene and deal with the witness."

Just as he finished, the phone in her pocket rang.

Taking it out, her eyes dimmed.

A private number.

Why did it feel... like she was being watched?

The question had just formed in her head when she caught sight of the discreet button pinned on the side of the ceiling.

Staring into it, she pressed the phone against her right ear.

A calm, but strange voice she had never heard before came up almost immediately

"I’d never hurt a kid... yet. But I might change my mind if you don’t peacefully get into the black newscaster van waiting downstairs to transport you."
