Chapter 106: Chapter 106 I’ll Have Security Throw You Out

Upstairs, the triplets paced around worriedly.

They were 49 floor up, so they obviously didn’t know what was going on downstairs.

After a minute of worrying, Jesse shot his siblings a look of disdain.

"You’re always blabbing about that Jett Adler. Our mommy might be getting bullied by those people downstairs, so where is he?"

Zade stopped moving and muttered in defense, "He’s busy working. Do you think he became the richest man in the city by slacking off?"

The corners of Jesse’s lips twitched in contempt.

"I told you mommy doesn’t need a rich husband. What’s the use of being a married rich man when you don’t spend time with your wife nor do you protect her from those looking to bully her?

"Annoying! Utterly annoying! I’m going to find someone better for mommy. I don’t care if he’s wealthy as long as he can take care of her and protect her from bullies!"

Keira nodded in agreeent, sounding a little too sad, "Daddy didn’t recognize me this morning. I don’t like him anymore. Jesse, find a better husband for mommy."

"What are you two saying? There’s literally no one as good as him!" Zade couldn’t help, but huff in annoyance.

Jesse’s lips curled up in scorn.

"Oh, shut it. The only thing he has is his height and money. Why do you think mommy isn’t smittened by him?"

"B-but..." Hearing such an irrefutable point, Zade no longer knew how to defend Jett and just stuttered in confusion.

As this happened, the man finished his work a little too early and left with Eric.

As he sat in the backseat with his eyes pinned outside the car window, he kept sneezing until the tip of his nose turned beet red.

Worried, Eric kept glancing at him through the rearview mirror. free.webn\ove(l)(.)c(o)m

"Mr. Adler, I think you’re coming down with a cold. Should I drop by at Haven Medical Center for your medical checkup?"

However, the man shook his head in refusal, crossing his arms across his chest.

He was way too familiar with his kind of sneezing.

Someone was definitely badmouthing him behind his back.

"Cancel all other programs I have for the day."

"I will do that, sir."

Twenty minutes later, they drove into the vicinity of the apartment building. But instead of the noisy and buzzing place he expected to see, everywhere was oddly quiet, their eyes towards the reception.

This was a naturally occurring phenomenon in the apartment building when there was a quarrel between two people or someone outside came to make trouble for a resident.

So he didn’t bother much about it and just got down.

Eric rushed to his side to cautiously suggest, "They must be a lot of people inside. How about we use the entry garage?"

Properly arranging his suit, the man raised a questioning brow at him, "Why? I’m just walking through them."

Eric was silent for a moment before he insisted, "If someone came to make trouble for a resident, it’s better to do as I say."

Jett drew his lips into a thin line, resisting the urge to smile as he turned to glance at his worried assistant.

"When did you start nagging? If it was something dangerous, these residents would’ve feared for their life and called security already."

Then he increased his pace into the build king.

A small crowd had circled around Kelsie and those of the Sutton family.

Because of how they stood which completely shielded her from sight, the man didn’t see recognize her when he glanced at the crowd.

"How dare you refuse! Do you not want your sister to be defended by a proper group of lawyers?"

"I ask that you don’t put words into my mouth, Mrs. Sutton. I’m only refusing because I don’t know any these people you’ve mentioned."

The man’s brisk walk came to a sudden halt, his head whipping towards the direction of the voice.

Kelsie Sutton?

She had left so hurriedly an hour ago saying she needed to be somewhere more important.

She was in such a hurry she already got into her car and was preparing to drive out under the two seconds it took him and Serbian Howard to come out of the building.

Was this the important appointment she had?

As he pondered on those questions, he didn’t realize when he sauntered towards the direction of the crowd.

Eric watched him in confusion, following after him as he squeezed his way to the front of the crowd.

A few people in the crowd had recognized Laura and got closer to her to confirm their suspicion.

"Isn’t that the genius hacker Laura Sutton?"

"Who is that? Is she the one with her parents or this unfeeling person in front of them?"

"Laura Sutton is a sweet soul. She obviously can’t be the unfeeling one. This unfeeling woman must be the person whom everyone said cheated in her program during the hacking contest."

"Cheating during a contest? If she can make such a bold move, what can she not do?"

"Poor Laura. She constantly gets bullied by this sister of hers and yet tries to be on her side every single time."

"Tell me about it. She once did an interview where she talked about life with her elder sister."

"Cheating Laura and winning the hackathon wasn’t enough, she now plans to make her quit neurosurgery."

"How callous of her not to help her little sister. But how sure are we that’s she’s close with the head of the Adler family and the Howards?"

Hearing the last person, Laura quickly shook her head in refusal, taking out her phone to show them the picture her friend had sent her.

"No, no. I have a picture with her and them having breakfast together this morning."

Just as they closed in on her to look at the phone, Deborah gritted her teeth and lashed out at Kelsie.

"Don’t you have any shame at all? Despite everything you’ve done to her, your little sister still wants to protect the little honor you have left. I would be ashamed of myself if I were you!"

"Since I didn’t train you properly as a child, I’ll do so now!" Jerry Sutton sneered and quickly strode towards her.

Kelsie watched him raise his hand to hit her and pursed her lips.

Was it anybody, she would’ve caught his hand or moved away to avoid getting hit. But, she just turned her face to the side properly and squeezed her eyes shut.

However, she never felt the stinging pain from the slap. Instead, she heard the confused and angry voice of her father.

"Who are you? What are you doing? Are you her boy toy? Let go of me this instant!"

"Our apartment building would never let someone like you rent a place here. If you keep acting unrestrained and brainless, I’ll have security throw you out." A familiar voice snorted icily.
