Chapter 36: Plan (5)

Adam paused for a few seconds. He looked at Andrew again. "And yes remember," he said. "While you are doing this work you have to find a location where we can open our bank. And our bank should be very accessible. Try to make sure that our bank is opened near the capital."

Andrew was silent for a few seconds. Then he said "As far as I know the property prices in the capital are very high."

Adam interrupted Andrew in the middle. "I have already told you," he said. "No matter how much money it takes that is all my tension. You have to do the work that is assigned to you."

After hearing this Andrew understood. "Okay then," he said. "I’ll leave all the money worries to you. I won’t disappoint you in any of the other work that needs to be done." Adam smiled at this.

The manager also got off the chair and sat on the floor. "Don’t worry," he said. "Our bank will be one of the top banks not in six months but in four months." After understanding a few more things in a little while the manager and Andrew left.

Adam also closed the door of his apartment and started to leave. He thought to himself Now for the location where our initial operations will take place. I don’t know how many people Andrew will bring. But I have faith in his capability.

Thinking this he went out into the city. He went to a decent area where there were many offices. He was looking for a place. A base of operations.

He was walking outside a street. There was a road on the side. Adam was walking next to the road now. He was looking at the buildings next to him.

Then he saw a 10-story building. It looked decent.

Not too expensive and not too cheap.

Adam immediately went inside that building. He met a receptionist at the entrance. The receptionist looked at Adam and said with a smile "Sir how can I help you?"

Adam said "I want to rent an office in this building for one year." After hearing this the receptionist was silent for a few seconds. She kept looking at Adam from top to bottom.

Then she smiled again and said "Sir what is your name?" Adam replied "My name is Adam." Then the receptionist said again

"Sir please wait for a few seconds. I’ll get back to you right away." After saying this she picked up one of the many phones on her desk. It was a traditional phone a phone with a wire. She dialed three or four numbers. As soon as the call was connected she said something that Adam could not hear. She put the phone down and smiled at Adam.

"Sir you can go to the third floor," she said. "Room number 13."

Adam smiled. He went to the third floor by elevator. He stood outside room number 13. Adam saw that most of the compartments in this building were made of glass. Small businesses had made their workplaces here. He looked around. This place was perfect. It was discreet. It was central. It was the ideal location for his new base of operations. He had found his headquarters.

Adam ignored all of them. He sat at the gate of room number 13. After which a voice came from inside. "Come in." After hearing this Adam went inside.

He saw that a middle-aged man was sitting there. He was sitting on a chair behind a very big table. Next to him a young girl was standing in a black suit. A black coat and pants. She had a tablet in her hand. Adam entered and said "My name is Adam." The middle-aged man smiled.

He gestured for Adam to sit. Adam sat down and said "I’ll come straight to the point. I need a whole floor on rent for one year." The middle-aged man smiled.

"Very good young man," he said. "I like your spirit. Straight to the point. No time wasted. But at least an introduction is necessary. I got to know about you. But let me tell you about myself. My name is Johnny. Under me apart from this flat and this building there are some other buildings. If you need a building in any other city or even in the capital you can tell me." Adam’s eyes widened in surprise when he heard this.

Adam smiled and said "For now I only need this. Please tell me the rate." Johnny was very impressed by Adam’s straightforwardness. He saw a kindred spirit in the young man.

A man who knew what he wanted and was not afraid to ask for it. He respected that.

Johnny looked at Adam. "Alright then," he said. "The usual price in this city is fifty dollars per square foot. According to that your rent for one year comes to half a million dollars." Johnny expected Adam to negotiate the price down.

He was prepared for it. He thought to himself Most young people who take office space from me only take a small section of a floor.

But Adam who is sitting in front of me is going to do a very big job. That’s why he has taken the whole floor.

Johnny thought again. If Adam negotiates the rate I can reduce it by fifty thousand dollars at most. I won’t go lower than that.

But he got an unexpected answer. Adam said "Should I pay you in cash or transfer it directly to the bank?"

Johnny was very surprised to hear this. He sat there silently for a few seconds.

Adam spoke again. "Is there a problem?" he asked.

Johnny came to his senses. He smiled at Adam. "You can do a bank transfer," he said. After saying this he turned to his side. His secretary was also watching all of this. She was also very surprised. She had never seen a client agree to such a large sum so easily.

She had never seen anyone so nonchalant about half a million dollars. She looked at Adam with a new respect. This young man was not ordinary. He was someone special. Someone powerful. Someone to be watched.
