Chapter 425: Chapter 414: Want a Kiss? Wait Until You’re Back_2

"How is it?" Professor Tan asked.

"Not bad." Jiang Zhe repeated his usual phrase.

Professor Tan’s anxious gaze met Ding Yi’s equally anxious one.

Jiang Zhe was about to leave but remembered something, turned back, and reminded Ding Yi, "Come back in two days for the suture removal and dressing change."

Ding Yi acknowledged.

During these two days, Jiang Zhe went to class with Professor Tan as usual to teach the second-year graduate students.

The students in the second-year class had gradually gotten used to having Jiang Zhe, the teaching assistant, around.

Two days later, Ding Yi arrived at the operating room as scheduled.

Jiang Zhe had already arrived early, saw him, lifted her chin, and motioned for him to sit down.

Then she took out her tools and medicine and treated him.

A few minutes later, she said, "Don’t get it wet just yet. It should be fine in a couple of days."

"It will be okay in just a couple of days?" Ding Yi was doubtful.

"I don’t mind if you want to change dressings more often. But don’t look for me."

Ding Yi stared at the gauze that had been removed from his hand, feeling somewhat skeptical about life.

With such surgery, the bandages would have to stay on for at least ten days before they could be removed, and the dressings would need to be changed no fewer than seven times. How could it possibly heal in two days?

When he had first gotten injured, he had rested for an entire summer vacation.

He was a medical student himself, how could he not know this?

Jiang Zhe didn’t explain any further and walked away with her backpack.

Ding Yi watched her leave with an air of effortless confidence, finding it hard to believe.

"Professor Tan, what do you think?"

Professor Tan said, "I think Jiang Zhe’s words are worth considering."

So Ding Yi went back to his dormitory with his arm, from which the bandage had been removed, without re-bandaging it.

Two days later, in Professor Tan’s class, there was a lab session for dissecting mice.

Professor Tan said, "Let Jiang Zhe demonstrate for everyone."

Jiang Zhe couldn’t be bothered to move, and said, "Let your classmate Ding Yi show you, isn’t he the top of this course?"

"You’re going too far, Jiang Zhe, knowing full well Ding Yi can’t hold a scalpel anymore."

"Exactly, jokes should have their limits."

"Ding Yi, don’t listen to her."

"Professor Tan, please control Jiang Zhe!"

Grinding his teeth, Ding Yi said, "I’ll try."

He walked up to Jiang Zhe, extended his right hand, and picked up the scalpel.

The sensation of strain in his hand had significantly lessened these past two days, and as a medical student, he knew what that meant.

But whether he was truly able to grasp the scalpel for precision work, he himself hadn’t dared to try.

He was afraid the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.

He exerted effort, and the scalpel was lifted.

Professor Tan said, "I told you to hold a scalpel, not a hoe. Why do you need so much strength?"

Jiang Zhe set up the mouse in front of him, nodded, and gestured for him to start.

Ding Yi’s hand trembled slightly, thinking the worst that could happen was ending up with the same consequences as before.

He picked up the scalpel and began the dissection.

One cut, two cuts, his hand no longer shook uncontrollably as it had before, each incision was remarkably precise.

Overjoyed, Ding Yi regained his confidence, his technique became even more accurate, and in less than five minutes, he had completed the entire experiment.

The other students watched as he finished with the mouse, all taken aback.

However, his technique was so impressive that they all applauded.

Then they remembered that Jiang Zhe had operated on Ding Yi’s hand.

So... The looks they gave Jiang Zhe couldn’t help but be a mix of surprise and admiration.

Professor Tan patted Jiang Zhe’s shoulder and said to everyone, "Having Jiang Zhe as your teaching assistant hasn’t done you any wrong, has it?"

A chorus of "not at all" rose from the class.

Ding Yi’s career was saved, and he was overwhelmed with excitement. He was about to express his gratitude when Jiang Zhe spoke up, "Professor Tan, isn’t it time for class?"

"Yes, and let me take this opportunity to announce something. Jiang Zhe has been granted a chance by the university to go to the Beicheng Continent for advanced study; the school has approved it."

If it had been Professor Tan making this announcement before, everyone would have instantly objected.

But after witnessing what happened to Ding Yi today, the room fell silent.

In a rush, Ding Yi blurted out, "Well, I support Jiang Zhe!"

Then others started to join in, "I think Jiang Zhe is fine."

"That works, I think it’s good."

Jiang Zhe calmly opened her book, "It doesn’t matter what you all think. I was already eligible to go."

Everyone: "..."

After class, she followed Professor Tan and asked, "When’s the flight?"

As Professor Tan’s phone rang, he took the call and then said, "Beicheng Continent has indicated that there are too many students selected this time. They need to further screen candidates and add an exam."
