Obsessive Tycoon and His Swan Girl

Chapter 404: Chapter 394 Dangerous Invasion

"Is that so?" Qin Jingchen’s arm rested by her head as he scrutinized her.

Jiang Zhe sensed a whiff of danger closing in.

She was indeed lying, mainly because the feeling of a sore waist and back was quite unpleasant.

The feeling of being controlled was also quite unpleasant, making her feel uncomfortable.

Qin Jingchen looked down at her, "Jiang Zhe, you once said that the reason you agreed to try a one-year marriage with me was because of what happened four years ago. So what about now?"

He had thought the answer was affirmative, but having not seen Jiang Zhe for a week, he was not so certain anymore.

"Am I not still here?" Jiang Zhe looked up at him.

Qin Jingchen leaned close to her ear, "What I want is more than just this."

Refusing to show weakness, Jiang Zhe counterattacked, and the two made their way back to the room from the quadrangle in a playful mix of scuffles and kisses.

Qin Jingchen seemed tireless, as if only through this could he be sure that Jiang Zhe truly belonged to him.

After calming down, Jiang Zhe looked up at him, "Is this enough?"

"Not enough." The man leaned down to plant a soft kiss on her cheek.

He then deepened the kiss slowly until it turned fiery again.

In the evening, Jiang Zhe received a call from Xia Enci, who said that He Ling had invited them to dinner.

"Sure, I’ll come in a bit," Jiang Zhe answered and, after hanging up, she turned to Qin Jingchen, "He Ling has invited us to dinner."

"Okay." Qin Jingchen changed clothes and, from behind, wrapped his arms around Jiang Zhe’s waist, "Are you adapting well?"

"Want to try?" Jiang Zhe elbowed her way out of Qin Jingchen’s embrace.

Her martial arts skills allowed her to break free very quickly, but no matter how quick she was, she was not faster than Qin Jingchen.

After a few moves, she was restrained by him once again.

Biting her lip, Jiang Zhe heard Qin Jingchen whisper in her ear, "Let me ask you a question."

"Having been caught by you, ask whatever you want to ask."

"When I injured you initially, you still stayed by my side... Have you thought about the consequences?"

"The more charming things are, the more dangerous they are, and vice versa."

Qin Jingchen laughed, the mole beneath his eye adding charm to his smile.

"The same goes for you, to me."

She was like a radiant flower blooming amongst thorns, irresistible to him.

He asked softly, "You won’t leave in the future?"

"Depends on your performance," Jiang Zhe’s voice lowered, the feeling of being forcibly pulled into Qin Jingchen’s arms was not comfortable.

The man’s solid chest provided a sense of security, but also a sense of danger.

The feeling of not being in control made her uneasy.

Her lashes fluttered, hating her own loss of control, yet unable to rein it in.

Qin Jingchen noticed her change but didn’t know what had triggered it.

He changed the way he held her.

Jiang Zhe said, "Let go of me, I don’t like the feeling of being controlled."

Qin Jingchen was momentarily stunned, then chuckled and moved closer to her ear, "Then how about you take the initiative? I’ll let you control me."

His words drew her back into their recent intense encounter, where she was entirely under his control, a feeling truly irritating.

But Jiang Zhe hadn’t given much thought to this issue before.

She broke free, "It’s almost dinnertime. Let’s go."

Seeing her grab her backpack and go, Qin Jingchen followed.

Xia Enci had been having a blast with He Zizhou; by the time they arrived at the restaurant, she was still very excited.

Although Jiang Zhe was mindful of the dinner time, she was still a bit late when she arrived.

Fortunately, He Ling and Xia Enci were deeply engrossed in their conversation and didn’t realize how much time had passed.

"Xiaozhe, why are you wearing the autumn uniform again?" Xia Enci glanced at the afterglow of the sun, which was still warm.

Qin Jingchen answered without batting an eye, "Jiang Zhe feels cold."

Xia Enci wanted to say more, but He Ling nudged her arm, signaling her not to ask further.

After dinner, Jiang Zhe and Qin Jingchen returned to the siheyuan.

"I’ll take you back on Monday morning," Qin Jingchen said first.

Thwarting Jiang Zhe’s plan to return on Sunday night.

Jiang Zhe had no objections, but she was too tired and needed rest. After returning to her room, she closed the door immediately.

Leaving Qin Jingchen outside the door, shaking his head amusedly.

On Saturday night, Jiang Zhe had a peaceful sleep.

By Sunday night, the door to her room was broken.

After she finished bathing and came back, Qin Jingchen was already inside her room.

Qin Jingchen raised both hands, "I won’t do anything, just keeping you company."

He was open and honest, even the teardrop mole under his eye seemed to exude a bright feeling.

Jiang Zhe trusted him.

Qin Jingchen kept his word, simply accompanying Jiang Zhe to sleep without crossing any lines.

In the middle of the night, Jiang Zhe was awakened by a phone call and only after waking up did she realize Qin Jingchen was beside her.

She grabbed her phone, her voice muffled.

It wasn’t until she heard what the person on the other end was saying that she instantly became alert and sat up straight.

Qin Jingchen wrapped his arms around her waist, "What’s wrong?"

"Drive me there!"

Jiang Zhe changed clothes as quickly as possible, as did Qin Jingchen, who picked up the car keys.

On the road, she relayed what He Ling had said, "Enci is injured, attacked by Tang Xinru."

Qin Jingchen frowned.

Xia Enci, being skilled in combat, was actually injured?

Arriving at the hospital, He Ling came up to them, "Enci’s leg is broken, and she’s currently undergoing surgery. I haven’t had the chance to find out what exactly happened."

"What about Tang Xinru?"

"She’s also in surgery," said He Ling.

"I’ll do Enci’s surgery," Jiang Zhe said.

He Ling hesitated, while Qin Jingchen already fetched a surgical suit for her.

Jiang Zhe changed into the clothes and walked into the operating room.

The doctors inside voiced their surprise at the arrival of the unfamiliar Jiang Zhe.

"Stop messing around, get out!" one doctor said angrily.

"Let Jiang Zhe perform the surgery," Qin Jingchen stated simply, his presence commanding.

The doctor was taken aback, but due to professional ethics, still did not move.

"Since you don’t want to leave, stay and assist me," Jiang Zhe said, by then already holding a scalpel and proficiently beginning to treat the wound.

Seeing her skillful start, the doctor was astonished but quickly began assisting her, handing her the necessary tools.

When He Ling saw Qin Jingchen exit the operating room, he finally realized that Qin Jingchen had actually agreed to let Jiang Zhe perform the surgery!

"Jingchen, you can’t treat Enci’s leg as a joke!" He Ling rushed over to him.

"You think Jiang Zhe performing surgery is a joke?"

Qin Jingchen’s eyes bore a profound warning.

He Ling knew Qin Jingchen was resolute and beyond questioning.

Rationally, he believed that with Qin Jingchen’s assurance, the surgery would definitely be okay.

But emotionally, Jiang Zhe was just a freshman studying Chinese medicine, clearly a field different from Western surgical practices.

He couldn’t convince himself.

He Zizhou hurried over from outside, approaching He Ling, who spoke with a crying tone, "Jiang Zhe is performing surgery on Enci! Jingchen even agreed to it!"

He Zizhou: "..."

Just as he was about to find some words to comfort He Ling, He Ling clenched his fist and said, "Even if Enci becomes lame, I’ll take care of her for the rest of her life."

The surgery Jiang Zhe performed on Xia Enci took two-thirds less time than other doctors had anticipated.
