Obsessive Tycoon and His Swan Girl -
Chapter 372 We Have Our Own Plans
Chapter 372: Chapter 372 We Have Our Own Plans
"We have our own plans," Feng Jiao said with a firm tone.
The attitude of someone accustomed to high society, when firm, carries a vast momentum that leaves no room for rebuttal.
Chen Tonghua didn’t dare to press too hard, fearing that being too clever might backfire.
The two then shifted the conversation to other matters, each ordering another coffee and drinking it slowly.
But it was all trivial talk, sparse in substance, and Jiang Zhe had no interest in listening anymore.
Thinking back to Feng Jiao’s attitude towards Xiaoqi and Fang Ting in the afternoon, Jiang Zhe guessed that Feng Jiao was probably a decent person.
After paying the bill, Jiang Zhe left the café and headed towards the elevator.
"Sister-in-law?"
Upon hearing the voice, she turned around and saw He Zizhou and He Ling walking over.
He Zizhou’s peach blossom eyes were very charming, attracting the gaze of many women along the way.
He Ling followed him buoyantly, gesticulating and talking about something.
Jiang Zhe nodded in greeting.
"What a coincidence, are you staying here?" He Zizhou asked.
"Mhm," Jiang Zhe nodded.
Knowing she wasn’t one for many words, He Zizhou smiled and said, "He Ling and I are here to attend a friend’s exhibition. If you don’t mind, why not join us to take a look later?"
"We’ll see," Jiang Zhe replied with little interest.
He Ling said, "There are some nice jade bracelets at the exhibition, all pretty good. I was thinking of buying one for a friend. Sister-in-law, could you advise me on the style Xia Enci likes?"
Opening her eyes to glance at him, Jiang Zhe said, "Oh, she’s just upstairs. Why don’t you ask her yourself?"
He Ling hadn’t expected Xia Enci to truly be there, and he snorted, "Then I definitely won’t ask. If I do, she’ll surely snap back at me."
"Then I’m not sure," said Jiang Zhe.
Laughing, He Zizhou said, "Let’s not disturb you any further then. Just call me if you need anything."
Jiang Zhe responded and entered the elevator, while He Zizhou had other matters to attend to and said goodbye to her.
He Ling muttered, "Just asked her one question, and she wouldn’t even tell me."
"You’re trying to pursue a girl and still expect others to help you out?" He Zizhou glanced at him.
"When did I chase girls? Have I ever pursued girls? Buying something for Xia Enci is entirely because she’s a good buddy of mine. Besides, isn’t it her birthday?"
"Sure, a good buddy. A good buddy worth buying a jade bracelet with not over an eight-figure budget for, and worth making a special trip for," agreed He Zizhou.
He Ling shrugged; isn’t she just a good buddy?
Diamond Barbie, he couldn’t afford the luxury!
"Big Brother He, He Ling!" A fashionably dressed, very pretty young girl came walking toward them.
"Xinru," said He Zizhou, his peach blossom eyes flirtatious, casting a spell with even the simplest greeting.
However, Tang Xinru’s eyes were fixed on He Ling, whom she had specifically invited: "He Ling, you finally deigned to come!"
As long-time friends of the He family, the Tang Family always maintained a good relationship with the two brothers.
Tang Xinru always liked to inform He Ling about anything she was doing.
As her feelings quietly grew, she was even more eager for He Ling’s presence, but he always seemed disinterested, and out of ten invitations from Tang Xinru, he might not even come once.
Especially since he had previously been focused on extreme sports, Tang Xinru had even fewer chances to see him.
"I heard you have a lot of jade jewelry to exhibit, some will even be auctioned, so of course, I had to come take a look," He Ling said with a smile.
"I’ve asked you before, and you wouldn’t come. It’s rare you’re interested in this. If I’d known you were, I would’ve organized this event sooner," Tang Xinru said, sticking her tongue out.
"So, are you ready? Got anything to show off now and open my eyes?"
"Wait for the exhibition to officially start. You won’t have any surprises if you look now," Tang Xinru winked at him.
He Ling laughed, "Okay then, we’ll come early."
"How about going for a coffee together?" Tang Xinru asked, "It’s still early."
"I didn’t sleep well last night and was planning on catching up on some sleep early today," He Ling said with a yawn, "You go have coffee with my brother."
Tang Xinru was slightly disappointed. She had intended to invite He Ling alone, and now, to decline outright would offend He Zizhou, so she said, "Would Big Brother He do me the honor?"
"I have a conference call to attend to. I’ll treat you next time," He Zizhou could clearly see she didn’t want to have coffee with him.
Tang Xinru breathed a sigh of relief, "Okay, next time then. I’ll treat."
He Zizhou nodded in agreement, as a sign of farewell.
He Ling followed him, and He Zizhou asked, "Can’t you tell she likes you?"
"That’s exactly why I can’t respond. I don’t like her back, and if I give her the wrong idea, it would be so troublesome."
"Then why did you come to the exhibition?"
He Ling just wanted to see the jade; he hadn’t thought that much into it.
"Am I wrong to accompany my brother? What do you call this, huh? ’Brotherly respect, fraternal duty’, ever heard of it?"
...
Jiang Zhe had a good night’s sleep.
She woke up early, washed up, and went downstairs for breakfast.
Xiaoqi, Fang Ting, and Jiang Yunxuan had woken up even earlier and were sitting in the lounge outside the room.
Seeing her, they immediately ran over: "Sister Xiaozhe, we were waiting for you to have breakfast together."
"Where’s Enci?" Jiang Zhe asked.
"Oh, she hasn’t gotten up yet. She said we should just go ahead and not wait for her."
"Let’s go then, downstairs."
Jiang Zhe led them downstairs in a lively procession.
Not many people were having breakfast at this time, so Jiang Zhe and the children were quite noticeable when they entered the breakfast buffet area.
Feng Jiao was also sleepless and came down for breakfast.
But she had no appetite and only had a cup of black coffee, sitting idly by.
Sitting beside her was a child, the Yun Yun mentioned by Chen Tonghua, a boy.
He was similar in age and gender to her lost child.
Hence, even though Feng Jiao verbally refused Chen Tonghua and didn’t want to let go of her own child, when Yun Yun politely followed her, she couldn’t help but take care of him.
Yun Yun’s parents were divorced, which made him particularly sensitive, so Feng Jiao was even more gentle with him.
This made Chen Tonghua believe there was great potential in this situation.
But how could Feng Jiao not see through Chen Tonghua’s ulterior motives?
She was simply being considerate because of the child and chose not to make a fuss.
"Does it taste good?" Feng Jiao asked.
"Mhm, it’s delicious," Yun Yun replied happily as he ate.
"Then eat more. If it’s not enough, you can go get some more," Feng Jiao instructed.
"Okay."
After speaking, Feng Jiao picked up her coffee and just then noticed the familiar figure of Jiang Zhe.
She had seen Jiang Zhe only a few times, just a glance yesterday.
But it’s rare to see a girl in a school uniform who could still look so strikingly beautiful that she left a deep impression; Feng Jiao recognized her at once. She also casually took a glance at the children with her.
