Chapter 139: Chapter 139 The patient only needs to believe when taking medicine Chapter 139: Chapter 139 The patient only needs to believe when taking medicine The Tang family estate on the outskirts spanned several kilometers in diameter, and the inner courtyards were accordingly spacious and massive.

It was a bit more expansive than the Qin family mansion Jiang Zhe had visited, with a few touches more of luxury. The restrained atmosphere was diminished, with the full impact of a wealthy family’s presence hitting one squarely in the face.

Jiang Zhe followed Qin Feng inside, and groups of servants silently brought over tea and fruit, moving without making the slightest noise.

Ordinary people in such an environment would inevitably feel uncomfortable, fearing they might do something wrong and become a laughingstock.

But Jiang Zhe didn’t pay any attention to this. With Qin Feng’s hospitality, he found a seat quite naturally and casually and put his school bag beside him.

Qin Feng was an efficient person, not given to idle chatter. Watching Jiang Zhe’s every move, which seemed carefree but revealed an indescribable elegance and composure, it was indeed difficult to imagine he was raised in the nouveau-riche Jiang family.

She smiled faintly, no wonder her cousin, who was extremely picky, took a fancy to this girl at first sight.

Jiang Zhe didn’t exchange pleasantries with her either and said, “I came today to take your pulse.”

“Okay.” Qin Feng stretched out her hand generously.

After the incident with Tang Jianxi taking medicine the last time, Qin Feng was indeed concerned.

However, she wasn’t one to wear her anxiety on her face; whether there would be trouble or not, she would remain calm.

So she didn’t overthink it, but now that Jiang Zhe was here, she would naturally do as he said.

Jiang Zhe took her pulse carefully and asked offhandedly, “Is the morning sickness severe?”

“Quite severe,” replied Qin Feng. “But recently I haven’t had much of an appetite, can’t eat anything really.”

“That’s normal,” and a minor issue.

Jiang Zhe generally didn’t pay much attention to such minor issues. What she was concerned about was the side effects of the medicine Tang Jianxi had taken last time.

The side effects of that medicine were the key to impacting Qin Feng’s health and a likely significant cause of potential problems in her later pregnancy.

Fortunately, Yang Feiliu had found a tiny amount of medicine that could be used.

She took out the medicine, “This is for you. It’s good for the fetus.”

“Okay,” Qin Feng took it and asked, “How do I take it?”

“Take it directly,” Jiang Zhe replied promptly. “The amount for one time.”

Though the dose was small, it was enough to ensure she wouldn’t have issues for the next two or three months.

On the coffee table were tea and juice for guests, but Qin Feng asked someone to pour her some boiled water.

The butler and servants hesitated.

Obviously, they cared about the child in her womb even more than Qin Feng did.

With Tang Yu gone, the child in Qin Feng’s belly was his posthumous child and the most important person in the Tang family’s heart.

The person before them was just a high school student who casually produced some medicine, and Qin Feng was going to take it just like that?

“I asked you to pour water, didn’t you hear?” Qin Feng’s brows rose sternly, exuding authority without anger.

Finally, the boiled water was poured.

Qin Feng took it, tilted her head back, swallowed the medicine with it, causing the butler and servants’ mouths to twitch.

“What are you still doing here?”

The butler then led the servants away.

Only then did Qin Feng turn to Jiang Zhe, “Sorry, these people don’t understand manners; they didn’t mean to question you.”

“It’s okay.” Jiang Zhe wasn’t expecting them to believe anyway.

As long as the person taking the medicine believed, that was enough.

Jiang Zhe stood up, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way.”

Qin Feng had only interacted with Jiang Zhe a few times and had noticed her as a reserved person who disliked socializing. She seemed to have always been this way, accustomed to being on her own, even finding a few extra words with others to be a bothersome hassle.

“Xiaozhe, wait for a moment. Can you check again? I’ve been having a bit of a stomachache recently,” Qin Feng extended her arm over to her.

“Really?” Jiang Zhe was somewhat surprised. She had such an issue?

When she took her pulse just now, she hadn’t noticed anything unusual.

“I’ll check again for you.” Jiang Zhe took her wrist and carefully felt her pulse, trying to locate the problem.

However, Qin Feng didn’t have any issues beyond what Jiang Zhe had anticipated.

She slightly furrowed her beautiful brows, ready to speak, when she heard the butler say, “Young Madam, Master Qin has arrived!”

Qin Jingchen rarely visited, but the butler, naturally aware of his status, hurriedly reported to Qin Feng upon seeing him.

Just after the butler finished reporting, Qin Jingchen appeared.

Qin Feng immediately looked at him. Qin Jingchen, who usually preferred wearing white shirts, had unusually put on a dark shirt and suit, dressing quite formally.

His tall figure appeared even more slender in the dark color, with broad shoulders and long legs, and even the sharp lines of his jaw were pronounced and taut.

What was even more unusual was that he had tied a necktie.

Such attire was seldom worn by him, but when he put it on, it accentuated his striking features, adding to his sharpness and presence.

“What’s the occasion? Dressing up like this to see me seems a bit too grand,” Qin Feng joked.

In truth, saying that Qin Jingchen came to visit her was less accurate than saying that as soon as she received Jiang Zhe, she immediately sent a message to Qin Jingchen, asking if he would like to come over.

Otherwise, with Jiang Zhe’s aloof nature and her long stays at school, Qin Jingchen would hardly have chances to see her—how then could their affection foster?

Qin Feng was decisive, and when she was dating, her love life had been nothing short of passionate and experienced.

Jiang Zhe could guess that Qin Jingchen’s arrival was orchestrated by Qin Feng.

How else would he be so punctual?

She lifted her eyes toward Qin Jingchen and immediately noticed he was wearing the necktie she had given him.

To match the tie, he had even changed into a rather uncommon outfit.

“How’s my tie?” Qin Jingchen walked over, while addressing Qin Feng, his gaze, however, was on Jiang Zhe.

Qin Feng, ever so perceptive, instantly guessed that the tie was a gift from Jiang Zhe.

Yet it was hard to imagine someone of Jiang Zhe’s disposition going out of her way to select a gift for someone.

She said with a beaming smile, “Very handsome, it suits you exceptionally well.”

“Xiaozhe, what do you think?” Qin Jingchen sat down next to Jiang Zhe and asked.

The man, always gentle and accommodating as if able to embrace everything, now dressed in a suit of black, carried an air of flamboyance reminiscent of a peacock, as though with the tie, his entire personality had shifted.

Jiang Zhe quietly observed him for a while and then said, “Not bad.”

Qin Jingchen’s smile brightened as he poured himself a cup of tea, as if those three words of praise were worth countless verbose compliments.

Qin Feng shook her head, “I praised you with so many words, yet you didn’t bother to pour me a cup of tea.”

“Does your little nephew allow you to drink tea?” Qin Jingchen asked casually.

Resigned, Qin Feng could only pick up the cup of plain water she hadn’t finished earlier.

Jiang Zhe let go of her hand and said, “There’s no major issue. When did the stomachache occur?”

“Oh, I remembered it wrong; it might have hurt before, but it’s gone now,” Qin Feng said.

Jiang Zhe didn’t expose her ploy. Pretending to stay was all part of the waiting game for Qin Jingchen’s arrival.
