"Sorry, Eva, I’m late." Sophie took off her long trench coat, removed her sunglasses and hat, and then sat down next to Eva.

"Sophie, are you okay?" Eva looked a bit worried. She had seen the recent news that Sophie seemed to be under a lot of media scrutiny because of Wyatt Sterling.

"I’m fine." Sophie smiled and shook her head.

"I really couldn’t have imagined Wyatt Sterling and Anna doing such a thing. If they were a couple, that would be one thing, but now both have spoken out saying they’re not involved. It’s like they’re jumping into the fire themselves."

Eva kept talking nonstop while Sophie remained silent, quietly listening to her finish.

"Eva, I’ve worked with Wyatt Sterling before. I know exactly what kind of person he is. I think the situation isn’t as simple as it seems." Sophie calmly added.

"Not simple? How complicated can it be? Anna is just as well-known as Wyatt Sterling, so she doesn’t need to tie herself to him for publicity."

"Eva, can we please not talk about this topic now?" She didn’t want to avoid the subject, but seeing Eva’s demeanor, it seemed like she had a grudge against Wyatt Sterling, and Sophie didn’t want to hear too many bad things about him.

"Alright, if we’re not talking about Wyatt Sterling, let’s talk about President Land." Eva leaned in closer, "How did things develop between you and President Land?"

Sophie had already planned to be honest with Eva, and since she asked, she laid it all out clearly.

After listening, Eva’s expression instantly darkened.

"So, you’re just President Land’s..." She didn’t finish her sentence.

"That’s right, just a kept mistress." Sophie gave a self-mocking smile, "Eva, you must look down on me now, I..."

"Sophie." Eva interrupted her, "You are my best friend. I don’t look down on you, and I never will. I just feel sorry for you."

Sophie’s eyes turned a bit red, and she hugged Eva tightly. She was really grateful to have such a wonderful friend close to her.

"Is it President Land?" Eva guessed.

Sophie nodded.

Sophie didn’t pick up the call, but Asher Land kept calling, and Eva didn’t expect Asher to be so persistent.

"Sophie, you better answer it."

There was no choice; the number of times she succeeded in resisting could be counted on one hand.

"Where are you?" Fortunately, his voice wasn’t as angry as she’d imagined.

After thinking for a long time, Sophie finally spoke slowly.

"Far from the Land Family’s place."

"I want to see you."

"I said I’m far from the Land Family’s place."

"Far?" He paused, as if pondering something, "Does it have anything to do with me?"

"Tonight, I must see you." Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to sleep.

"Aren’t you supposed to be with Irene? She’s not familiar with Eastern City yet, you should accompany her more, and besides..."

"By the way, don’t go back to the Land Family villa. Go back to the apartment instead. Irene is at our house, and there are some things that would be inconvenient for us to do there tonight."
