Before she could properly react, Julia had already arrived.

With no other choice, she casually put on an outfit and went downstairs without even putting on makeup. Julia couldn’t help but complain a bit seeing her bare face, but there was no helping it; there wasn’t enough time.

"Sophie, we might miss a great opportunity, you should pay more attention."

"Oh." Sophie feigned a look of regret. Indeed, her outfit today might make her lose out at any formal occasion.

She was wearing a loose sweater and light-colored jeans, her long hair lazily tied at the back, looking very much like wearing home attire, coupled with her sleepy eyes...

Sophie stood stunned in the doorway for a few seconds until Julia pulled her into the private room.

Asher’s dark eyes tightened, his gaze roamed up and down her body. It was obvious that he was also surprised by Sophie’s presence.

He naturally knew the nature of this gathering, and why the women in this room were here. Could it be that she came with the same purpose as those women who are seeking fame and profit, aiming to climb up the ranks?

Thinking of this, his fists instinctively clenched a little tighter.

Sophie felt a bit lost and simply found a corner to sit down. There were about eleven or twelve people present. After observing for a while, Sophie realized that besides Asher, there was another acquaintance, Anna, along with a few newcomers in the entertainment industry, much like her, having not played many roles, some whose names she couldn’t even recall. Additionally, there were several middle-aged men who looked wealthy and powerful, probably the so-called CEOs.

"President Land, are you satisfied with these people?" A middle-aged man with a big head and ears walked up to Asher, his face full of sycophantic smiles.

Sophie couldn’t help but glance in Asher’s direction, only to see him smiling slightly, seemingly in a good mood.

"President Land, I heard your company has been investing a lot in the film industry recently. If there’s a suitable role, don’t forget about me!" said a coquettish woman, sexy and beautiful.

Sophie looked down at her own outfit and, for some reason, she felt a bit regretful. Perhaps she should have tidied up a bit.

The woman leaned closely against Asher, as if desperate to place her entire body against his. She fed him a sip of wine, a piece of fruit, with somewhat intimate gestures. Sophie couldn’t stand it anymore and turned her head away, picking up a glass of red wine from the table and sipping it lightly.

Damn it! How could she not react when she saw him with another woman? He couldn’t help feeling a little angry.
