Chapter 81: PEOPLE WHO APPLIED

"Oh my! You’re here already!"

Tiana’s voice echoed in the house as Terrence opened the door and went inside.

"Hi, Mom." Terrence smiled. He greeted Tiana with a hug before moving away to place his bag on the floor.

"Hi, Dad," Terrence glanced at Archer.

"Go to your room first and rest, Terrence. We have an update regarding your sister." Tiana smiled widely as if she had heard some good news.

When Terrence heard it, his gaze immediately went to Tiana. "I want to hear it now, Mother."

Tiana chuckled and tilted her head to the side. "Nope. We’ll tell you about it later dinner. Your dad and I will just buy groceries at the market. We’ll celebrate later!"

"The market near us had closed down already," Terrence announced, shocking Tiana and Archer.

"H-Huh? Weren’t they doing well now?" Tiana’s eyes widened.

"Yeah," Terrence nodded, "But, oh well, it has been sold to someone," he shrugged his shoulders.

Tiana problematically looked at Archer. Now, it has become a problem for them where they would shop for groceries. It only means that they must go to the other town now, which would be more expensive.

Terrence sighed. "Here," he placed some money on Tiana’s palms.

"What is this for?" Tiana’s forehead creased as her eyes stared at the $1000 bill on her hand.

"For the celebration," Terrence smiled. He knew that if he told his mother to spend that on their grocery, she would immediately reject it.

"Ohh," Tiana slowly nodded. "But this is too much, Terrence."

Terrence smiled reassuringly. "We must celebrate a lot if it’s good news regarding Abigail."

Tiana chuckled. "It seems like you’re also excited about it even though you haven’t heard of it yet."

"Of course, Mom. Based on the happiness in your eyes, it seems like it was very good news. I couldn’t wait to hear it already." Terrence expressed his excitement upon hearing it.

"Wait for us. We’ll just quickly shop." Tiana looked at Archer and nodded.

"I’ll go to my room now, then." Terrence smiled at his parents as he went back to his room.

Even though he couldn’t wait for what his parents would say, he diverted his attention by looking at his phone.

In there, he and Edwin talked over a few things.

Edwin was updating him regarding the permits for the grocery store. In the span of 2 days, Edwin managed to take care of almost half of it already.

It was faster than what Terrence was expecting.

Because of that, Terrence had contacted some suppliers of the products and scheduled the delivery for next week.

In total, the items would cost nearly $300,000. He made a down payment of $50,000 as the initial payment.

"Woah," Terrence was surprised by how much money he gained in just a couple of days.

This is the biggest money he had got in his entire two lives!

The smile on Terrence’s face was reaching his ears. He was so happy right now that he felt like giving free money to everyone he saw.

Terrence punched the air in joy. If only he could share this news with everyone, then that would be better. However, he knew that he couldn’t do that.

Terrence closed the status window. He laid down on the bed in joy.

He was already thinking of some things that he wanted to buy.

’Should I buy a car?’ Terrence thought of it.

Since he had been going around, he thought he might need it.

’What about some properties? And turn them into apartment buildings that I can put to rent. That will be a good side hustle.’

There were endless possibilities of how Terrence could earn more money now that he had a lot. He was thinking of expanding his fortune and properties.

The first thing he needed to do now was to get a personal bank account to store his money. Even though he can just keep it in his system, storing it in his bank account will grow his money even without doing anything.

And speaking of which, Terrence realized the job listing he posted a few days ago. He opened his phone and went to look at it.

His eyes widened when he realized hundreds of people applied for the job.

"I didn’t know they would be so interested in this!" Terrence exclaimed.

He thought that only a few would apply since it was only a grocery store where they would be working.

Terrence scrolled through each one of them. He will judge the people based on their qualifications.

Based on his estimate, it would take him the whole night just to get back to each one of them.

He sighed and realized why he had to put himself in this kind of trouble.

As Terrence looked at every person who applied for the job, his eyes were fixated when he saw credentials that were too good to be true. It was too much for the position that the person was applying to.

He immediately looked to see who submitted it and was surprised when it was from a girl.

"Summer Layens, 21, Female."
