Chapter 79: MARRIAGE TALK

The night passed by like a blur for Terrence and Natalie. They woke up together, feeling tired and exhausted.

Natalie looked at Terrence, who was lying down beside her. Her cheeks burned as she remembered what happened last night.

Even though they did not do the deed, she still enjoyed it.

Natalie pulled the sheet closer to her body. It was cold since she was only wearing her underwear.

Her sudden movements caused Terrence to wake up.

"Natalie," Terrence’s morning voice sounded.

He looked at his side and saw that Natalie was looking at him.

"Good morning," Natalie answered with a smile on her face.

Terrence smiled back. He closed his eyes and yawned. He was still sleepy.

He did not know what time they slept yesterday, but it was already late.

"What time is it now?" Terrence asked.

Natalie took her phone from the bedside table near her side and looked at the time. "It’s only 9 am."

Terrence slowly nodded his head. He closed his eyes and said, "I’ll sleep again."

Natalie did not answer, but just stared at Terrence as he fell asleep again. She couldn’t help but smile. Terrence looked so peaceful as he slept once again.

She chuckled. "He must be so tired."

Natalie moved her body closer to Terrence. She hugged his waist and smelled his scent.

Natalie wished that she and Terrence could stay like this for a very long time. She had never felt this happy in her entire life.

Terrence just made her feel wanted and like a true woman.

She knew that her feelings for him had gotten deeper and there was already no way out.

*Ting!

Natalie glanced at her side. She saw how her phone’s screen lit up. There was a message notification from her dad.

Natalie’s heart triumphed. She quickly moved away from Terrence to get her phone and reply to her father immediately.

[Dad: Where are you?]

Natalie’s fingers fidgeted. She did not know what to reply. At this point, she knew she couldn’t lie and say she was in another place.

Her dad must have contacted Uncle James already.

Natalie was typing her reply when her phone suddenly rang. Her eyes widened when she saw that it was from her dad.

She quickly glanced at the bed before going into the bathroom.

"Hello, Dad?" Natalie tried her best to make her voice sound lively even though she was not.

"Where are you, Natalie?" Her dad’s voice thundered.

"I-I just visited Uncle Fredrick. I stayed in a hotel since I was tired already yesterday." Natalie answered. She swallowed when she felt as if there was a big lump in her throat.

She wasn’t used to lying to her dad, so she felt very nervous right now.

"Go home now. We’ll be having a late lunch with Senator Dough and his son. You should be here by 1 in the afternoon."

"Yes, D—"

Natalie wasn’t even able to finish her words when the line died. She sighed and tilted her head to the side.

That was the scene every time she would get a call from her father. There wasn’t even a goodbye and take care. Oh well, what was she expecting anyway?

Natalie looked at the time. Just a few minutes had passed since Terrence went to sleep again. She hated to wake him up when he was deep in sleep already.

Natalie didn’t leave the bathroom. She took a bath and brushed her face. She made sure that there were no traces of what happened yesterday on her body.

However, she encountered a problem while looking in the mirror. She noticed the marks on her neck. They were reddish and obvious.

She problematically placed her hand on her head. She had no clothes or makeup with her right now. The bag she had brought with her yesterday only contained her wallet and lipstick.

Natalie did not want to use her previous clothes as they reeked of alcohol. Her father would immediately find out she lied. She also did not wish Uncle James to see the hickey on her skin, as he would only conclude one thing.

’Shit,’ Natalie looked at the time.

She still had an hour left. She messaged James to fetch her in an hour. After that, she went outside with only a robe on her body. She made her steps lighter so as to not wake Terrence up.

Using the hotel’s telephone, dialed the lobby and asked them to buy her some clothes and some later.

Fortunately, the lobby agreed to her request.

Natalie waited patiently for it. However, as minutes passed by, she had grown more worried. She kept looking at the time on her phone.

It did not help that she received a message from her dad and Uncle James asking her where she was.

Natalie only replied to James. She told him that she would be out in a couple of minutes.

Natalie looked around. She gathered all her clothes on one side.

When a knock on the door sounded, Natalie immediately went to open it. She sighed in relief when she saw it came from the hotel’s staff. She paid for it directly using her money.

Natalie went inside the bathroom again to get ready. She was relieved when the clothes fit her. After dressing up, she instantly covered the hickeys on her neck.

Natalie took a glance at Terrence’s sleeping body. She smiled and chuckled. She did not know that Terrence was such a deep sleeper.

She went closer to Terrence and gave her a soft kiss on the cheeks.

"I love you," she whispered, just enough for her to hear herself.

It was a word that she had been meaning to say to Terrence for a long time already. However, she had no chance to say it to him face-to-face. She was afraid that he wasn’t feeling the same way as her.

When Natalie’s phone rang again, she realized she needed to go already.

Natalie sent a message to Terrence’s phone as she went outside to leave. She informed him about her departure.

"Uncle James," Natalie greeted James as he went outside to open the door’s car for her.

"Your Dad just called. I told him that we were on our way already. We need to leave now, or else we’ll be late." James uttered in a serious voice.

Natalie nodded. She sighed and went inside the car.

"Can I give this folder to Uncle Fredrick?" Natalie worriedly asked as she noticed the folder on her side.

She remembered that they needed to give this back today.

However, James shook his head.

"I’m so sorry, Young Miss. The police station is on the other way. We can’t do that since we’ll be late. We’re already out of time right now." James apologized.

"That’s fine, Uncle." Natalie smiled.

She laid her back on the car’s seat and sighed. Her body was still aching from what happened yesterday.

She felt sleepy.

However, even though she wanted to sleep, she knew she couldn’t since she still needed to put some makeup on her face.

She needed to use what she had now, which was only lipstick, a powder, and a concealer.

"Why did Dad suddenly call for me, Uncle? I thought he was away?" Natali’s forehead creased as she realized about it.

The reason why she was able to go around was because her father informed her that he would be gone for a week.

"It seems like the new expansion of the mall’s location they were doing with the Style’s family was doing well."

"That fast?" Natalie was shocked to hear how fast the development was coming.

It was just last month when her family and the Style’s family had a meeting with each other.

Since then, her father has become close to Senator Dough Style.

"Yes. I heard the construction of it is set to start by next week. The development was fast since the area was an undeveloped town. It was known that it would be the first big establishment to be built there." James tilted his head to the side.

"Where is that again?" Natalie’s brows shot up. She did not think building a mall in a town like that sounds like a good idea.

"I forgot the location," James sighed.

"Ohh."

"Your father is talking about marriage, too." James reluctantly looked at Natalie after saying those words.

Natalie’s breathing hitched. She looked at James with widened eyes.

"W-What do you mean, Uncle?" Her voice stuttered.

She knew her dad had mentioned marriage to her a few times already, but she thought it wasn’t serious.

She’s still young, for god’s sake.

"Well, your dad just mentioned the possible candidates for your marriage. I think he’s still not serious about it. I’m just informing you beforehand," James knew that Natalie already had someone in her heart.

And so he thought it was only right for him to say that to Natalie so she could prepare what she needed.
