Chapter 42: ABIGAIL’S ANSWER

Chapter 42: ABIGAIL’S ANSWER

’Fuck, I need to go now.’ Terrence uttered out of a sudden when he looked at the time on his phone.

He glanced at the ground, before taking all the paper bags he bought with him.

’Hmm...’ Terrence stared at the people on the ground. ’Here.’ Terrence took out $2000 from his system and put the money on the ground, lacing a stone on to of it.

He pitied the men, who were groaning in pain in a low voice. They can’t even make a loud sound, afraid that Terrence will beat them up once again.

Terrence went to the guy with a scratched face. Seeing the scratches on his cheeks that were bleeding, he felt pity.

"Here. I hope you learn your lesson from now on." Terrence calmly uttered as he placed a $1000 bill on the man’s hand.

The man, even though he was still sobbing and crying, was shocked when he saw the amount of money in his hands. His cry got even louder.

Sighing, Terrence tilted his head to the side as he stood up. He wiped away the few specks of dirt that had gotten on his clothes.

He left the street in a rush. He only has exactly 2 hours now to try to go to Abigail’s university. Fortunately, he was able to find the main street after a few turns. It seems like the guy from earlier was still useful.

Terrence hailed a cab quickly. Since there were a lot of available cabs, he was able to get one in no time.

"To Lecrecia University," Terrence uttered as he boarded inside. "I’ll add a tip. Just make sure we will be there by 3 in the afternoon." He quickly added.

The taxi driver quickly nodded. "Yes, Sir." He uttered in enthusiasm before driving away.

The cab passed by hidden streets to make it faster. However, there was still a little bit of traffic on the road leading to Abigail’s university due to the high number of people going in.

Terrence didn’t even bother to ask the driver about how much he needed to pay. He just gave him $1200 dollars before leaving.

Terrence was quick to run inside Abigail’s university. He was already late by a few minutes.

Terrence held onto his phone dearly. It has been ringing repeatedly since earlier. He has received numerous text messages from his mother. And all of them were no good.

Terrence didn’t bring the paper bags with him. He left them all in the guardhouse near the gate of the entrance. It was a hassle to bring them all inside when he was already rushing.

Out of breath, Terrence arrived in front of the principal’s office in no time. It was probably the fastest he had ever run in his entire two lives.

He breathed for a few seconds before fixing his clothes that got messed up by the fight and his running before he knocked on the door.

When the door opened, the familiar face of Melisa’s assistant greeted Terrence.

"Yes, Sir? How may I help you?" The assistant asked. She looked around to see if Terrence had someone with him.

"Is Abigail Ardwil here? I am part of the family."

"Ohhh," When the assistant realized it, she stepped aside and let Terrence in. "The meeting just started, Sir." She informed him.

Terrence nodded as he went in. He looked around and noticed that the principal’s office was spacious. There were a lot of trophies and certificates right before the entrance.

Terrence could instantly feel the glare that Tiana had been giving to him. He smiled and greeted the principal first before going to his family.

"I’m sorry for being late," he apologized to all of them.

When Melisa saw Terrence, her eyes became flushed. "I-It’s alright, take a seat," she uttered, almost stuttering.

Terrence nodded. She sat beside Abigail, who was pouting on the side. They were seated in front of Terrence and Archer.

"I thought you forgot about it already, Brother," Abigail said in a low voice.

Terrence gave Abigail a reassuring smile. "Why would I? I know this is important for you."

Abigail smiled at what Terrence said. She nodded, agreeing with Terrence.

Melisa cleared her throat before speaking once again.

"As I was speaking earlier, once you all agreed to let Miss Abigail take this scholarship, then the two of you needed to fill out this parent’s consent form since currently Miss Abigail is still underaged." Melisa repeated what she was saying before Terrence came.

She took two folders and gave them to Tiana and Archer. In there were all the papers that they needed to sign.

"After you signed this form, Miss Abigail would then need to fill out her details regarding the Scholarship Application. That will immediately be put into verification, and tomorrow morning, we will call you." Melisa said as she handed out another folder to Abigail.

Melisa took a quick glance at Terrence before staring at Abigail.

"Now, Miss Abigail, I would like to hear your decision on this matter. Are you willing to accept this scholarship or not? Be reminded that this is only a one-time opportunity. If you disagree, then your slot will be given to another student."

Abigail bit her lower lips when she heard about it. She stared at her brother.

Terrence looked at Abigail. He wanted to hear what she would answer.

Since they talked about it, Terrence knew that he had to accept what Abigail would answer. However, this slight thought inside him was hoping that Abigail would decline the offer.

"Uhmm..." Abigail found it hard to speak her answer. She has been thinking about this for a day.

Melisa smiled at Abigail. "Don’t worry. Whatever your answer is, we will be willing to accept it." She assured, putting no pressure on Abigail.

Abigail bowed down her head. She looked at Tiana first, before Archer, until her eyes landed on Terrence after a few seconds.

’I’m sorry, Brother.’ Abigail thought as she sighed deeply before facing Melisa.

"I am willing to accept the scholarship, Principal Melisa."
