Chapter 258: An official introduction

Coco closed the door after inviting Alithe and his pair into her room, shutting out the early morning light.

She turned around, her expression a little more soft than earlier, her mind focused on the guests she had just invited inside her sleeping quarter.

She looked at the two— Alithe and the other male— taking in their appearances, her eyes studying them curiously.

"Take a seat.. Uh, on the bed." Coco gestured towards the bed, a sweat dropping from her cheek as she coughed awkwardly, "Sorry, I don’t get guests often so I don’t have a chair except for this one."

As Coco spoke, she walked over to her lonesome chair by the corner and dragged it across the room.

"It’s fine." Alithe merely waved a hand to dismiss her worries and took a seat on the bed with his pair, "We’re the ones intruding so we don’t have a say on anything about you and your space."

"Well, that’s reassuring." Coco mumbled, her eyes shifting to the sleeping creature and garden fairy who were sleeping by her pillow, "Just don’t get too close to the pillow."

Alithe’s pair blinked and turned his head to look at Konoha, his red eyes twinkling with wonder.

"That’s one of my companions." Coco said, catching Alithe’s pair’s attention, "I met her last night, when we were on our way to the farming rabbits’ lair."

"I have not seen anything like her before." The red eyed hybrid mumbled, his voice soft and gentle.

"So I was told." Coco smiled, darting her gaze away from the red eyed hybrid to Alithe, her expression curious as she asked him, "What made you come to me so early in the morning?"

Her voice was still heavy with sleep, but there was a hint of curiosity and interest in her tone.

Coco stood there, her hair disheveled and her body wrapped up in the covers, her gaze fixated on him, waiting for his explanation, but it was clear for the hybrids that she was listening intently.

"We will be leaving for the main city tomorrow afternoon." Alithe said, going straight to the point as he straightened his posture, "Salamandara had given me the persimmon to take you with me if you want to the main city as soon as tomorrow."

Coco blinked, her eyebrows furrowing.

"How about the permit?" She asked, tilting her head in confusion, "I don’t want to be given special privileges during my first time in the city."

"You can pick up the permit from the village hall." Alithe’s pair spoke up, catching Alithe’s and Coco’s attention, "We just wanted to give you the best treatment possible as a thank you. I don’t think my husband would have been able to save me without getting hurt."

"Oh.." Coco’s shoulders relaxed, her expression softening.

"I haven’t introduced myself, have I?" The hybrid asked with a polite smile, "Please allow me to introduce myself."

The dark skinned male slowly stood up from the bed he had been occupying, his tall and muscular frame towering slightly above Coco.

He took a moment to compose himself before he looked directly at her and gave an eloquent bow to show his respect, introducing himself, his manner polite and his tone respectful as he spoke.

"I am Sinclair Astin, Alithe Astin’s pair." The name rolled off his tongue like a melodic phrase, his words precise and his voice firm.

"Pleade call me however you like. It would be my honor if you decide to give me a special name that only you can call me." His voice was deep and rich, his words carrying an accent that she couldn’t quite place.

"Honey, I don’t think you shoul—"

"No, my love." Sinclair had cut off Alithe with a shake of his head, "I want her to be the one."

She was quite clueless to what they were talking about, but that doesn’t matter because now that the night sky isn’t obscuring her vision, she could see the hybrids clearly now.

The dark skinned hybrid before her has dark skin, almost akin to an evening sky in the middle of summer, filled with rich and vibrant color, which contrasts beautifully with the rest of his looks.

His hair was as black as night itself, gleaming in the low light of the room that was seeping through the blinds on her room’s window.

His eyes, however, were beautiful; bright and red, like glowing embers in the night, or should she say rubies?

Coco doesn’t know, but Sinclair’s appearance, as a whole, was as beautiful and attractive as he could get, especially with his features that were sharp and angular.

Plus, his body is lean, but enough muscles were peaking through his clothes.

One could mistake him for a fierce warrior, but his eyes and expression held a sense of peace and calm, his aura almost eerily soothing, which would wipe out that thought immediately.

Coco nodded her head, her hum of acknowledgement filling the air, as she met his gaze with a steady expression, her eyes studying his face.

Then, Coco introduced herself in return, her voice soft but firm. "I’m Coco.. Coco Hughes."

The hybrid nodded his head and froze when Coco spoke up immediately after.

"It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sin."

Just like Sinclair, her voice soft, but polite, her words precise and respectful, and despite her sleepy self in the covers, she still managed to introduce herself with confidence.

Sinclair brightened up when Coco called him with a nickname, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

Hearing the nickname had lifted a weight off his shoulders, a subtle tension in his features easing away, with the change being subtle, but noticeable, he looked slightly more relaxed now, his eyes glittering with a hint of joy.

"Oh, you did not—" Alithe shot up from his spot on the bed, an incredulous look and scowl on his face, but he froze when Sinclair started shining.

Coco’s eyes went wide in shock, not expecting Sinclair to glow— literally.
