Chapter 206: CAME TO FIND TROUBLE WITH HER

Aristia slowly put her head back into the carriage. She was on the way to the Quentin Fief.

The Quentin Fief was neighbouring the Hemsworth Fief. It wouldn’t take longer than two hours to arrive there.

It took a little more than an hour for the carriage to enter the Quentin Fief, and a few minutes to reach the Quentin Estate.

"Halt!" A lousy looking guard tried to stop their carriage.

[Huh? Why did the carriage stop?] Aristia thought and brought her head out of the window. Adeline also looked confused before her eyes narrowed silently.

Before she could ask Lucas who was controlling the carriage the reason why they were stopped, they heard a voice.

"What are you doing, you moron?! Can’t you see it’s the carriage of royalty?!" A more mature looking guard chided the ignorant guard before rushing to her carriage.

At his words a guard ran, probably to inform the household of the unexpected visitor.

"Please forgive your subject’s mistake, your highness." The mature guard bowed deeply.

Aristia waved nonchalantly.

The guards at the Estate gates looked shocked to see the person in the carriage even though it was a child. They immediately opened the gates.

"Your Highness!" They bowed until the carriage passed through. Sweat trickled down their backs. That was the third princess. They could almost see the punishment they would receive for such a disrespectful act.

Fortunately, she didn’t seem to pay attention to that. They heaved a sigh of relief.

The carriage rode on for half a minute before it stopped in front of a mansion. It wasn’t as grand as the mansion in the Hemsworth Estate and couldn’t even be compared, but it was grand nonetheless, being the property of members of the nobility.

A footman immediately opened the door and helped her come down from the carriage while another went with Lucas to park the carriage.

Aristia scanned the family that stood a few distances in front of the mansion. They bowed as soon as she came down from the carriage.

There was a man and woman, a boy and three girls. Vivian Quentin was among them. It wasn’t hard to identify her. She was the youngest child and third daughter of Count Quentin.

It was even easier to find her and to differentiate her from the rest. Unlike her family’s features of brown hair and eyes, Vivian’s was eye-catching with her mauve hair and turquoise eyes. It really was a question of interest on where she got her features from. She was also the prettiest among them. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

"Your Highness," the portly man that was the Count came to Aristia quickly. "What an honor for you to come." He said brightly even though they hadn’t received prior notification of her intention to visit or her impending visit.

He was overjoyed. The third princess had taken the initiative to visit them. Didn’t that mean she had the intention to become close to one of his children?

Aristia only nodded. "Count Quentin."

Countess stepped up with a welcoming smile. "Your Highness, please come into our humble home."

It really was a humble home compared to the Grand Duke’s Mansion.

Aristia followed them into the mansion with Adeline following closely behind her.

Now they were in the drawing room and a maid was serving refreshments.

The Count and his family all had smiles on their faces. Well... all except for Vivian. She seemed more surprised and conflicted than anything else.

"I hope the tea is to your liking," Countess Quentin said with a flattering smile, playing the role of a good host.

Aristia nodded. "It is alright, Countess." She took a sip and put down her saucer.

"If you don’t mind me asking , your highness, is there a particular reason you came?" Countess Quentin asked with a hopeful smile.

Aristia paused her actions to looked up at her. "There is."

Countess Quentin smiled widely and asked. "May I ask the reason?"

"I came to see one of your daughters."

On hearing her answer, the couple’s smile widened and they exchanged glances for a second. None of them noticed, but their youngest daughter’s heart skipped a beat.

"Annie dear," Countess Quentin glanced at her second daughter proudly with a satisfied smile, before getting up. "We’ll leave you and her highness alone now."

[Who’s Annie? Why would they think I’d be here for her?] Aristia thought with confusion.

"I’m not here for miss Annie,"

Aristia’s words stunned not only the half standing Countess, but the rest of the family. Who else apart from Annie; the one closest to the princess’s age?

"Then... are you here for Bethany?" Countess Quentin’s brows rose in confusion as she straightened her body into a proper standing position.

She wondered whether the princess would want to see her eldest daughter who was much older than her. Even Bethany was confused.

Aristia shook her head again. Why didn’t the Countess mention Vivian since they were the same age? 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

[It could be because they are aware of the relationship between Aristia and Vivian... If it can even be called a relationship.]

"Then who...?"

"I’m here for miss Vivian."

Vivian?! The family was stunned. The girls even looked to be wondering why the princess would want Vivian instead of the two of them. But then they snickered.

The two girls lowered their heads and looked at each other with their hands over their mouths.

Did the princess want to find trouble with Vivian?

It was done secretly, but Aristia still saw it. Her brows furrowed.

[Why are they acting this way to their sister? If I really came here for that, then shouldn’t they be worrying?]

She purposefully ignored them and glanced at Adeline who stood behind the couch she was sitting on.

"Ah, your highness, I hope there’s nothing wrong?" Count Quentin asked with a short nervous laugh. They were thinking the same thing as their daughters. Even the boy was frowning, looking at Vivian and then at her.

Aristia was offended because she could tell what they were thinking.

[Do I look so idle that I would come all the way here just to find trouble with a six year old?]

But the outward reaction was different.

"There’s no problem at all," Aristia smiled brightly. "I just want to see miss Vivian."

The couple got the hint and excused themselves. "Then please excuse us, your highness." They bowed and reluctantly left, but not before Countess Quentin glanced at Vivian with a warning glare she didn’t think Aristia noticed.

[Hmmm...]
