Chapter 59: Battle Wise Predator
Chapter 59: Battle Wise Predator
’Something seems off.’ Tim thought as he reduced the pace at which he was moving. His instincts sort of warned him to be careful.
It was a surprising thing for Tim especially when you consider the fact that the previous owner of the body possessed no such skill. Then how did he now possess the trait to be able to partially sense danger.
As, he moved in the snow, he observed his environment more. If there was going to be an attack on him then he was ready. He needed to level up after all and all beast were truly appreciated.
When Tim reached about 20n meters of where the wolf was, he stopped his movement once again. Now his instincts were on the alarm again. It was not something that Tim liked and it was not something that he hated at the same time.
’Is this instinct of a thing, a trait from one of my undead? It should be because I don’t ever recall having such a thing like that.’ Tim thought, as he brought out his sword.
He was ready to battle. Although he could not see the immediate danger that was ahead of him. he was prepared for whatever that weas to come his way.
He resumed his journey. When he was about 5 meters from where the snow wolf was. It pounced on Tim with all seriousness. Tim who was already expecting such placed his sword to intercept the charge, but as they collided. Tim was sent flying.
BAAM!
He crashed his back non a nearby tree which stopped his momentum. It was painful to him, but he was already used to such damage.
Idah and Ottis seeing their master attacked suddenly, did not need to wait for orders before they launched attacks simultaneously to the snow wolf.
Idah entered his stance and launched his Sky Piercer skill towards the wolf and Ottis launched his Wind Gale spell towards the wolf.
Two deadly attacks were heading towards the wolf with speed. One was a thin blue light that was travelling with so much killing intent in it and the other was a forceful wind that was condensed and seek only one thing which was destruction.
The snow wolf seeing the attack had its eyes light up with a blue color then it swiftly dodged their combined attacks as if it was child’s play.
It focus was not on them. It was on Tim who just stood up from the powerful paw strike that it landed on Tim. It was surprised due to the fact that no human ever survives its paw strike unscathed.
It was a powerful innate skill that it developed along with its brothers that could squash and destroy even boulders with a single strike, yet the odd smelling being had blocked it.
With its eyes still blue, it decided to test out. If Tim could actually survive its paw strike, considering the fact that he was not physically harmed from the ambush attack.
The snow wolf, ignored the additional attacks that were sent its way and lunged towards Tim once more with a horrifying speed.
"Shit!" Tim cursed out, as the wolf that was some distance from him. suddenly appeared in front of him with its paws and sharp claws descending on him for an attack.
Tim did not even have the time or second to cast any defensive speel, so he gritted his teeth and raised his sword once more. Bracing himself for impact.
BAAM
The paw and Tim’s blade collided. Tim knowing fully well that he could not soak up the full amount of force from the force decided to divert the paw with his blade.
It worked but, Tim was still smashed away due to the sheer force of the attack.
Once again, his body was greeted with the hardness of a giant tree. Pain rushed through his very body, but he had to bury it within him.
Now was not the time for him to be thinking about pain. In front of him was a terrifying existence that even his boost in stats could not help him out.
He needed a plan. A way to take out the beast.
Idah with an overwhelming anger accelerated towards the beast with the help of Ottis who supported him by boosting Idah via a miniature Wind Gale spell.
Idah almost immediately neared the wolf and released his skill Sky Wind Piercer. The skill was used at such a close range distance that Tim thought that it would be the end of the battle, but what the wolf did next shocked him to the core.
With its eyes still maintaining the blue color the wolf stood on its hind legs and smashed its two front paws towards the attack.
BOOM!
It was force against skill and the force won. Idah on the other hand was sent flying and he smashed his body towards a rock.
"No way you just attacked like a bear." Tim said, as he ran through the available skills and spells that he could use to change the tide of the battle.
"Fireball. Wind Strike. Wind Gale." Tim used 3 spells at the same time concurrently. He did not have mana to cast spells, but thanks to his unique skill, Death Embrace.
He could just cast the skills of those he was using Death Embrace on without any complex additional requirements.
As Tim casted those spells. On a normal occasion the spells would have shot forward looking for their target, but it was different this time.
Tim had held the spells back because he knew that the spells would be of no use. From the looks of things. Tim had acknowledged the beast’s speed.
He attributed it to the blue light that was over the snow wolf’s eyes and he knew that he could not just fire attacks and spells recklessly. They were facing a well skilled battle predator and they needed to use their brains and not just their brawns.
The snow wolf stood on its 4 limbs and looked at Tim. It really wanted to finish off Tim, but Ottis and Idah kept disrupting its momentum.
