Chapter 825: Chapter 766 Bang!

"Six Feet. You ride with Captain Jiang."

Wu Junhao had filled Jiang Yuan’s car to capacity before he got into another vehicle, still issuing orders as they set off.

Six Feet was a young chap whose muscle-building endeavors had reached his neck, but in a police uniform it was hard to tell his physique, leaving one to notice only his bright eyes and shining pate.

"What’s your last name, Brother Six Feet?" asked Wang Chuanxing, making an effort to interact. He was part of Jiang Yuan’s Cold Case Squad, and though he had been seeing people from the first squad frequently since his temporary transfer to Ningtai County, their interactions had been minimal.

"Just calling me Six Feet is fine. My last name is Chi, a rather rare one." Six Feet replied with a smile, appearing quite down-to-earth, though his eyes were piercing.

"Officer Chi," said Wang Chuanxing respectfully, then added, "So how did everyone start calling you Six Feet?"

Six Feet chuckled and explained, "You know about the Japanese loincloths, right?"

"The kind with just a string and a piece of cloth?"

"Pretty much. Loincloths are also referred to as ’six-feet clothing’..."

Wang Chuanxing was surprised, "You like wearing loincloths?"

Mu Zhiyang started to speak but ended up laughing, coughing a few times to regain composure.

Six Feet gave a smile and said gravely, "When I first started working, I was visiting locals one time and happened to encounter a suspect. My teammate had one pinned down, but two others tried to flee. It was summer, and neither of us had handcuffs, so I just grabbed hold of a suspect’s underwear and twisted it into the style of a loincloth, then hoisted them up by it."

Wang Chuanxing had been amused at first, but by the end, he couldn’t help but gasp.

Considering the loincloth design features a string going through the buttocks, turning a suspect’s underwear into one meant twisting a pair of underwear into a rope, then lifting the rear end to the highest position and hanging the person upside down—the strength required... Wang Chuanxing couldn’t help remarking, "Brother Chi, you really don’t judge a book by its cover. That nickname is awe-inspiring; I’ve never heard anyone boast about it."

"Because I was later complained about by the suspect and had to write self-criticism reports, attend large meetings to reflect on my actions—altogether the records were about two meters long. That’s why people started calling me Six Feet," Six Feet said with a laugh, then added, "But from now on, when new folks come around, I’ll be telling them this loincloth version, so don’t you guys let the cat out of the bag."

Wang Chuanxing acknowledged, "Got it."

Mu Zhiyang also patted his sidearm holster, "Brother Chi, we’ll be counting on you for the arrest."

"Don’t worry, if he dares to run, I’ll risk a department-wide bulletin to twist him a loincloth," said Six Feet, who now, when he smiled, seemed slightly fierce.

Mu Zhiyang quickly advised, "Brother Chi, there’s no need, really no need..."

Twenty minutes later.

Dongsheng Hospital Emergency Department.

From afar, as Six Feet watched the graceful woman emerge from the infusion room, he couldn’t help but mutter Mu Zhiyang’s recent words: "No need!"

Indeed, for Jiang Yuan’s safety, Wu Junhao had not only brought a top talent like Six Feet along but also picked a female suspect.

"Chu Yanqin. She ran with the same gang as Duan Xueping, used to be into smuggling, likely recruited later by Ye Quanyou," Wu Junhao quickly briefed, then began to lay out the arrest plan on-site.

Mu Zhiyang clicked his tongue twice in amazement, "This Ye Quanyou is quite something, eh? Started as a nobody, but then he opens a company and gets his own little gang going?"

"There’s profit in it. Plus, don’t look at how inconspicuous he seems in the ’half-ton case,’ but when you add it up, he’s probably the most central member of the smuggling ring in that case. Those business spies put a lot of effort into creating their channels, and the most critical part of it ended up in Ye Quanyou’s hands."

"So Zhou Shansong, who should have been directly responsible as the second tier, delegated power to Ye Quanyou?"

"Zhou Shansong had made enough and didn’t want to work tirelessly, so he passed the baton of taking risks to Ye Quanyou," Wu Junhao explained.

Reflecting for a moment, Mu Zhiyang couldn’t help saying, "As it turned out, Ye Quanyou did indeed risk his life. If he hadn’t been running the darkest smuggling route, he wouldn’t have carried a gun with him. With a gun on him, he couldn’t withstand scrutiny; he had no choice but to take the risk."

At that moment, Six Feet focused his attention on Chu Yanqin, "What is she doing at the hospital?"

"Her husband’s got acute gastroenteritis. He was admitted this afternoon," Wu Junhao, who had just obtained Chu Yanqin’s information, recalled and added, "This woman has no criminal record, hardly any data on her. Within Ye Quanyou’s gang, she must have been a warehouse manager or something. Duan Xueping said after disbanding the gang, there was no more contact."

Wu Junhao said this, patted the handcuffs on his waist, and said, "Let’s move. She probably doesn’t know we’re going to catch her. Let’s still trick her into coming. Let’s ambush near the doctor’s office. Xiao Zhang, you go change into a doctor’s clothes and lure her over, tell her to come to the office to discuss something. If our cover is blown, arrest her on the spot. Liuchi, you follow Xiao Zhang for backup, and don’t get caught."

"Yes." Xiao Zhang and Liuchi had already changed into plain clothes. Xiao Zhang first went into the doctor’s office to get a set of clothes, then came out and approached Chu Yanqin.

Liuchi trailed silently ten meters behind.

The hospital emergency department was still overflowing with people late into the night, with children crying and adults yelling; there wasn’t a quiet place to be found.

Such an environment was not conducive to making arrests. Only near the doctor’s office could one find a place with slightly fewer people.

Wu Junhao had informed the several people in the doctor’s office and, disregarding their astonished expressions, pulled Jiang Yuan along with Mu Zhiyang, pushing him into a corner of the corridor. This spot was essentially at the bottom, also the furthest from Chu Yanqin.

Even though they stood far away, at this moment, Jiang Yuan was already battle-ready. Including Wu Junhao and Mu Zhiyang, everyone who was supposed to get into action would do so.

Most of the ambush officers were dressed in police uniforms and took their respective positions around the area, spreading out to all sides.

Jiang Yuan obediently pressed against the wall, right beside Mu Zhiyang’s cold... belly.

Jiang Yuan touched it and said in surprise, "You brought a ceramic plate?"

"Better safe than sorry. I thought since Liuchi is so awesome, when it comes time to deal with a delicate woman, if I’m needed, the ceramic insert might be useful too," Mu Zhiyang said with a chuckle, patting his stomach and chest. "It can stop a 7.62; it can even handle the type Type 56 used by that high school student last time!"

"I doubt it will be needed," Jiang Yuan chuckled.

"After all, this is Beijing. Who knows?" Mu Zhiyang also laughed, his mood still relatively light.

Up ahead.

Xiao Zhang spoke a few words to Chu Yanqin and then led her towards the doctor’s office.

Chu Yanqin seemed anxious, quickening her pace to keep up with Xiao Zhang and humbly asking questions in a low voice.

Xiao Zhang, maintaining an aloof demeanor, brushed her off with, "I’ll tell you when we get there," quickly leading Chu Yanqin into the encirclement.

At this point, Liuchi was also following closely behind, unseen.

At that moment, Wu Junhao and others timed their entrance perfectly, advancing towards Chu Yanqin without a word.

Xiao Zhang, who was closest to Chu Yanqin, tightened his expression and turned to grab her.

But it was too late...

The instant Chu Yanqin caught a glimpse of Wu Junhao’s police uniform from the corner of her eye, her expression changed.

With a nimble spin, she managed to pull at Xiao Zhang, throwing him off balance, and deftly drew a gun from her lower back!

"Gun!" The moment Xiao Zhang saw the black barrel, he felt numb.

In his years of service, this year he had encountered more guns than ever.

But at this moment, he was in mid-fall.

Chu Yanqin didn’t even glance at the falling Xiao Zhang. With gun in right hand and flipping off the safety with her left, hands clasped together, she aimed the barrel directly at... Wu Junhao!

Bang bang bang!

Three rapid shots hit Wu Junhao squarely in the chest.

Wu Junhao fell backwards silently.

Chu Yanqin then swung the gun barrel toward Jiang Yuan, not far from Wu Junhao’s side.
