Chapter 649: Unification and Rewards

"Is this Juubi? Such powerful chakra, incredible pressure..."

"Amazing!"

Beside Minato, gazing at the massive, majestic Juubi, Parallel World 4’s Orochimaru’s eyes gleamed, licking his lips maniacally.

He desperately wanted to pounce and lick Juubi to his heart’s content!

However, with Juubi’ enormous size, if Orochimaru truly aimed to lick it thoroughly, it might take a full day and night. Some spots might even be out of reach for his flexible tongue...

Fugaku shook his head; Orochimaru was as abnormal as ever.

Thankfully, such an abnormality wasn’t Konoha’s enemy, or it’d keep people awake at night!

Imagine sleeping soundly, only for a long tongue to slither under the blanket, licking with wet slime—wouldn’t that scare you half to death?

"Fugaku, can your Sharingan control Juubi?"

"No, it can’t be controlled. Juubi’ chakra is too wild, its malice too strong; my genjutsu can’t manage it."

Fugaku shook his head. He’d tried long ago—Juubi was beyond ordinary Bijuu concepts. Even Mangekyo Sharingan struggled to control it.

Perhaps an Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan had some chance, but likely only to barely control Juubi’ first form.

"I see. Juubi is far stronger than I imagined!"

"Minato, since only your Rinnegan can control Juubi, how do you plan to use it? Its size makes hiding difficult. And since Juubi seems to be an Ōtsutsuki creation, if the enemy has a special control method, that could be trouble..."

Fugaku’s concern wasn’t baseless; facing a god-tier enemy like Isshiki required caution.

"I know, so Juubi won’t easily enter the battlefield."

"If the first plan fails, I’ll have Juubi charge a giant Bijuudama first, and I’ll deliver it for a fatal strike on the target!"

Minato shared his plan.

He had no intention of bringing Juubi to the battlefield. Its size was a disadvantage against a high-speed, high-attack humanoid like Isshiki.

As Fugaku noted, if Isshiki had a secret method to seize control, it’d be a real problem.

The best approach was keeping Juubi off the battlefield.

It could hide far away, charging a giant Bijuudama.

A single giant Bijuudama could devastate tens of thousands of square kilometers, even destroying half the moon!

With Hiraishin no Jutsu’s advantage, Minato could deliver the giant Bijuudama precisely.

Once hit by the explosion, Isshiki, lacking defenses, wouldn’t withstand it!

Minato was confident of this!

Otherwise, facing his own Bijuudama attack before, Isshiki wouldn’t have used a treasure to defend.

"I see. That’s a good plan!"

"But if Juubi is too far from you, can your Rinnegan control it long-term? If it rampages, the threat would be greater..."

"For a short time, it’s fine. Fighting Isshiki shouldn’t take too long..."

"Then why not find someone to seal Juubi, becoming its Jinchuriki? Wouldn’t that make controlling and using its power easier?"

"It’s difficult. Juubi’ malicious corrosion is too strong; ordinary people can’t withstand it. Sealing rashly would only kill them."

Minato knew a bit about Juubi.

Sealing it required not just a Rinnegan for the Six Paths Juubi Coffin Seal but also immense willpower or mental strength.

Otherwise, even if sealed, the person would be consumed by Juubi.

Theoretically, Konoha’s Orochimaru and Obito had a chance of success.

But that was theoretical; no one could guarantee absolute success, and failure meant death!

The cost was too high.

Even if successful, becoming a Jinchuriki was irreversible—at least with current technology.

In the future, freeing Juubi would endanger the Jinchuriki’s life.

Moreover, both Orochimaru and Obito had other roles in Minato’s grand war plan.

"Got it. But why not seal Juubi yourself first? It’d make you stronger, boosting your odds of victory."

"A human body can’t seal two Bijuu simultaneously..."

Minato had considered this, even consulting the Sage of the Six Paths in secret at midnight, but the answer was negative.

With Kyuubi already sealed in him, sealing Juubi simultaneously was impossible.

It’d either let Juubi devour Kyuubi or replace Kyuubi with Juubi.

"Then why not replace Kyuubi?"

"Replacing it wouldn’t mean much and would make Isshiki more cautious."

Isshiki wasn’t foolish; he knew how hard it was to kill a Juubi Jinchuriki.

If Isshiki realized he couldn’t quickly kill a Six Paths Minato, he’d find ways to escape or target others.

That’d only increase their side’s risks and casualties.

Minato wanted to kill Isshiki with one unexpected giant Bijuudama strike!

Not drag out a war of attrition with Isshiki.

The longer the delay, the greater their danger...

"Such a pity; there’s no perfect solution..."

Fugaku sighed, ceasing to persuade.

Minato had thought everything through; he didn’t need to worry excessively.

At that moment, Lux’s voice interrupted Minato and Fugaku’s discussion.

"No. If Minato wishes, you can become both Kyuubi and Juubi Jinchuriki."

"Sir?!?!"

"Wait... is this really possible? The Sage of the Six Paths himself said it couldn’t be done..."

Seeing Lux appear, Minato was instantly thrilled, but more intrigued by the mentioned dual Jinchuriki possibility.

If he could truly seal both Kyuubi and Juubi, Minato felt his odds of victory could rise by at least thirty percent!

"Old Man Rikudo couldn’t, but that doesn’t mean I can’t."

Lux spoke casually, as if stating something trivial.

After all, Rikudo Sennin couldn’t—whose fault was it he lacked a system?

In fact, half an hour ago, Lux had arrived in Parallel World 4.

But he didn’t rush to meet Minato, as there was a small surprise.

Or rather, Nagato in Parallel World 5 suddenly gave him a huge surprise!

Parallel World 5 completed unification at lightning speed!

When the system abruptly issued a notification, Lux was somewhat shocked.

After all, in Parallel World 5, since Nagato became Juubi Jinchuriki and destroyed Konoha, only half a month had passed.

Yet that world achieved unification so swiftly?

The efficiency was explosive!

But on reflection, it made sense. Six Paths Nagato there unleashed an Infinite Tsukuyomi covering the entire ninja world; not just Konoha and the Fire Country, all other nations and villages were engulfed and controlled by it.

Villages and nations fully aware of Infinite Tsukuyomi’s terror—how much resistance could they muster?

Many even yearned for Infinite Tsukuyomi’s beauty, desperately begging for another chance to enter and dream sweetly.

Reality was too bitter!

How could it compare to the blissful genjutsu dream?

Not just commoners, but many nobles and ninjas were captivated by Infinite Tsukuyomi’s sweet dreams.

To experience it again, they’d do anything.

Under such mental stimulation, Nagato’s unification strategy proceeded smoothly, unhindered.

Basically, sending someone to announce it, and target nations and ninja villages surrendered and submitted.

Some small nations even competed to pledge loyalty.

The only delay for Nagato was Kumogakure, refusing to surrender to the death...

Though the Fourth Raikage and Hachibi Jinchuriki were gone, the village’s hardline faction dominated, refusing to yield and choosing to fight Akatsuki to the end.

Sadly, no matter how tough Kumogakure’s backbone, it couldn’t withstand absolute violence!

A few Bijuudamas from Six Paths Nagato, plus Deidara’s gleeful explosions, shattered Kumogakure’s spine and knees, forcing them to kneel and admit fault obediently.

Thus, under Nagato and Akatsuki’s strong push, in just over half a month, they conquered all nations and villages, nominally completing unification.

Of course, true total unification was a long road ahead.

Subsequent governance system establishment, reforms, population migration, regional integration, hierarchical management, and more were vast, lengthy projects.

It’d take years to stabilize gradually.

Even Snake Aunt’s Parallel World 3 had only formed a preliminary unified empire, not fully controlling all regions.

But for Lux, those were future concerns.

For now, as long as nominal unification was complete, all nations and villages were eradicated, and the system recognized the unification progress target as achieved, that sufficed.

(I didn’t choose you wrongly, Nagato! You didn’t disappoint me!)

(Though fundamentally kind, he’s not as near-extremely kind as Naruto...)

(If Parallel World 5 chose Konoha, it might not have unified this fast!)

Lux sighed slightly, praising Nagato for not letting him down.

Completing unification so quickly was a huge surprise.

Seizing the chance, Lux accessed the system, checking its notifications.

[Ding: Congratulations, you’ve completed Parallel World 5’s unification!]

[Parallel World 5 Unification Duration: 0 years]

[Ding: Congratulations, you’ve earned one self-selected mission reward package!]

[Ding: Notification, the system has updated, lifting some restrictions]

(Tch! The rewards shrank!)

(When Parallel World 3 first completed unification, they gave ten bonus draws.)

(This time, nothing? Did the system secretly embezzle?)

Lux calmed himself and began reviewing the second system update’s effects.

Not vastly different from the prior update, but with slight variations.

Four key improvements:

1. Unified Worlds: Hosts bound to factions can bring anyone to other worlds, up to twenty people per trip.

2. Max Stay Time: Daily max exploration target stay time increased from 3 to 5 hours.

3. World Teleportation: Daily world teleportation limit rose from thirty to fifty times.

4. Rewards: Reward pool for lottery chests and self-selected reward packages expanded.

Overall, the first three were standard upgrades—useful but not shocking to Lux.

His existing time and usage limits were already sufficient.

But the fourth, the expanded reward pool, was eagerly anticipated and exciting.

This meant a higher chance of getting better items, right? They wouldn’t expand the pool with trash.
