Chapter 648: The Revival of Juubi

Lux arrived in Parallel World 4.

Currently, Minato here had completed the transplantation of a Rinnegan and a Black Eye, advancing to quasi-Six Paths level.

He possessed power and mechanics near the ninja world’s peak.

Yet, Minato was acutely aware of Isshiki’s strength; even without the Black Eye, Isshiki’s raw stats and power were at true Six Paths level.

A significant gap remained between him and his opponent.

That’s why Minato prepared layered contingency plans.

Outside Konoha, in a corner of the Forest of Death.

Minato led a group here to prepare the final Juubi revival ceremony.

Half a month ago, Fugaku, on Minato’s behalf, successfully captured Rōshi, Yonbi Jinchuriki.

Over the past week, Parallel World 4’s Orochimaru actively assisted Minato.

He severed Hachibi’ tentacles one by one as a Bijuu chakra source, replacing the Bijuu in other Jinchuriki, and sealed them into the Gedo Statue one by one.

With Orochimaru’s technological support, the process went smoothly.

The One-Tail through Hachibi were sealed into the statue, and all other Jinchuriki survived, perfectly meeting Minato’s requirements.

As for Kyuubi, it was split: half in Kushina, half in Minato.

Neither half could be disturbed.

Fortunately, some Kyuubi chakra from Kinkaku and Ginkaku, previously sealed by Obito into the Gedo Statue, sufficed.

They’d consumed some Kyuubi flesh, gaining a portion of its chakra.

Though imperfect and significantly weaker, it was enough to revive Juubi.

"Hooo—!"

The Gedo Statue began transforming, slowly rising, morphing into Juubi’ form.

Seeing this, Kyuubi within Minato felt a pang of sorrow. Though usually at odds with other Bijuu, bickering when meeting, it was a sign of their close bond.

Despite hating Shukaku the most, Kyuubi saw it as a Bijuu sibling, both half-children of the Sage of the Six Paths.

If something unexpected happened, Kyuubi wouldn’t hesitate to help.

Now, watching its Bijuu siblings devoured by the Gedo Statue to become Juubi, Kyuubi felt heartbroken.

A melancholic empathy, grieving the loss of comrades.

If not for the Sage of the Six Paths acknowledging Minato, passing down many Onmyōton techniques, and deeming him an heir, Kyuubi would never have agreed to Juubi’ revival and would’ve fought to stop it.

It might not succeed, but it wasn’t about ability—it was about stance!

Minato sensed Kyuubi’ sorrow, feeling Kurama’s dimmed emotions, and proactively comforted: "Don’t worry. After defeating Isshiki, I’ll reseal the Gedo Statue and free all the Bijuu!"

"They’re living beings; I won’t keep them caged as tools."

Though Minato couldn’t treat Bijuu with Naruto’s sincerity, viewing them as friends and sacrificing for them, he was better than most, not overly hostile toward Bijuu.

He was willing to grant them respect and recognition.

This was evident from the Yin Kyuubi in him, which opened its heart to aid Minato in Kurama Mode.

If Minato harbored ill intent toward Bijuu, Kurama would’ve sensed it first.

Minato’s sincere assurance cheered Kyuubi, lifting its spirits slightly:

"Hmph! Minato, if you dare lie to me, I won’t let you off..." Kyuubi warned haughtily.

"Hahaha! Don’t worry, I never lie. Besides, Sir said the Ōtsutsuki’s goal is always the God Tree, and since you all stem from Juubi, I doubt they’d spare the Bijuu."

"So, striking first to eliminate Isshiki is the best choice."

Minato explained further.

Threats he could handle, he didn’t want to leave for future generations.

Letting Naruto and Sasuke grow up happily was his and Kushina’s greatest hope.

"Got it, got it. That old geezer isn’t as annoying as you."

"Is this a sure thing? Don’t end up like last time, nearly killed in one hit..."

Kyuubi grumbled impatiently. It didn’t want to care much, just hoped Minato wouldn’t die.

Over the years, few human ninjas earned its reluctant respect.

The last was that bastard Madara, grudgingly acknowledged.

Kyuubi didn’t want Minato harmed, only to be recaptured by Madara as a mount again.

"Hooo—!"

Juubi fully revived, its massive size and terrifying chakra pressure chilling those nearby.

This, despite lacking most of Kyuubi’ chakra and part of Hachibi’.

Juubi was already this strong. Hard to imagine how powerful the Sage of the Six Paths, once its perfect Jinchuriki, was?

Even after splitting Juubi, the Sage retained some Six Paths-level power...

’Could the Sage at his peak have beaten Isshiki?’ Minato wondered.

As for Tenshou Sennin? No comparison needed.

Minato hadn’t forgotten how easily the opponent defeated Isshiki before.

’Sennin to Sennin, there’s a difference!’

Simultaneously, to Juubi’ right.

Obito, Kakashi, and Rin, as insiders, observed.

Team Minato rarely reunited, though Rin was still in Edo Tensei form.

"Is this Juubi, scarier than Bijuu? Such terrifying pressure..."

Rin gazed at the fearsome Juubi, unable to suppress shock and trembling.

Bijuu were already monsters ninjas feared.

The small Sanbi, sealed in Rin, once forced her to die by Kakashi’s hand. Let alone a terrifying monster like Juubi.

"Don’t be scared! I’m here; I won’t let anyone hurt you again."

Obito stood before Rin, shielding her from Juubi’ chakra pressure.

Kakashi beside them, enduring alone: (O_o)??

Feeling Obito was taunting him, but lacking proof.

Was he not human?

So love could vanish? No... could friendship vanish?

"Thanks, Obito. But help Kakashi too! He seems to be struggling..."

Rin smiled sincerely, pointing at Kakashi.

Obito’s face froze: (〒︿〒)

As if he’d become part of the game, despite mental preparation.

Obito wanted to kick Kakashi, but recalling his recently healed backside, he restrained himself.

"It’s fine, I can handle it."

"Obito, you okay? If it’s too much, we can step back..."

Kakashi endured the pressure, glancing at Obito, signaling not to overexert.

Obito’s heart ached, realizing he’d misjudged Kakashi.

This loser Kakashi still cared for him!

"Tch tch tch... What a mess!"

Spiral Zetsu nearby clicked his tongue, mixed feelings watching this odd triangle’s antics.

Though he couldn’t grasp love, he was curious.

Why was he here? He’d joined Konoha.

After being ’taught’ by Parallel World 1’s Madara, he fully integrated; the Rinnegan Minato used was even found by him.

To Spiral Zetsu, everything here was an illusion, controlled by the living Madara from before.

The so-called Fourth Hokage was Madara’s puppet, hence Juubi’ smooth revival.

(But why hasn’t Madara-sama appeared? Shouldn’t he be Juubi’ Jinchuriki now, preparing Infinite Tsukuyomi?)

(And that Black Zetsu? Didn’t he say he infiltrated the statue to sleep? Why hasn’t he emerged?)

Spiral Zetsu had too many questions, but they didn’t matter.

Obito was here.

He just needed to follow Obito, enjoying the fulfillment Obito provided!

"Zetsu, what nonsense are you spouting?"

Obito glared at Spiral Zetsu, annoyed.

If not for needing him, he wouldn’t bring such an irritating guy along! It could lower his IQ...

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m just griping about Juubi’ chakra pressure being too strong!"

"How about this, Obito, step aside; I’ll possess Rin."

"What do you say? Want me to hop in? I’ve never possessed an Edo Tensei body. I’ll make you feel unmatched comfort! Don’t believe me? Ask Obito..."

Spiral Zetsu eyed Rin flirtatiously, eager to try her.

"Bastard!"

Obito, enraged, punched Spiral Zetsu into the ground, sparking a fierce brawl.

Rin and Kakashi nearby smiled wryly.

This was the Obito they knew, playfully bickering.

Elsewhere, Minato used his Rinnegan to control the newly revived Juubi, reducing its terrifying chakra aura.

This was why he needed the Rinnegan first. Without it, controlling Juubi was nearly impossible.

"Preparations are finally almost complete."

"Isshiki, I’m coming!"

"I’ll represent the entire ninja world to defeat and eliminate you!"

"And hopefully, these surprises will please you..."

Minato clenched his fists, touching the Black Eye in his socket, murmuring with utmost confidence.
