The result was far from ideal. She had lost her father, and was at odds with the Naturalist Knight; Austin had lost his wife, and was at odds with the Death Knight.

Anastasia couldn’t persuade Austin—she came because of hatred, trying to convince him to abandon his resentment simply didn’t stand.

During the moment of silence, two sets of footsteps approached.

Sophia turned and saw a man and a woman, both frowning in confusion. As she recognized the man’s face, she was greatly startled.
