Chapter 963: Chapter 352 Inverted World’s Lundan_2

The followers felt it made sense upon hearing this. Averaging the status of Golden Mages, and not lacking in those of Legendary Realm who are powerful, even if they were pigs, the Moonlight Knight would need half an hour to kill them one by one.

Half an hour was enough time for many to retreat while fighting.

The battle had just started, not even past the probing stage, yet a group of people were already considering sacrificing their teammates to buy time to escape.

Especially the Legendary Mages, they had the most ideas.

No one could blame them for their lack of fighting spirit, as their bodies accumulated a massive amount of negative information. The Golden Mages could not sustain their Life Barrier, the Life Force Field of the Legendary Mages was also unreliable, in the face of the onrushing tide of the Void, fearing that being a step slow would turn them into excrement of the Void.

It must be said, though the Moonlight Followers were tormented into unrecognizable forms by the negative buffs and their strength was greatly reduced, the visual effects they displayed at this critical point of life and death were still impressive.

Perhaps a few really could escape!

Hiss!

In the middle of the pale tide, a vertical slit tore through the flesh, and a giant eyeball suddenly snapped open.

Whispers sounded softly by the ears of the followers, then suddenly seemed as distant as the horizon, flitting unpredictably and chilling their bones. Everyone knew this was the Corruption of the Void, not something to listen to or even capable of being heeded, but the whispers teemed with infinite Magic Power, making it impossible for them to let go, longing to hear what followed after each segment.

It seemed to make some sense, listen a bit more, just a bit, and after listening, no more.

Just one last phrase! xN

After a brief moment of terror, the followers sported thoughtful faces of realization; mystery and the unknown scratched at their curiosity, and even though they agreed on listening to just one last phrase, their itch for knowledge rooted them to the spot, unwilling to leave.

So that’s how it is, he is absolutely right! xN

I’m gradually understanding everything!

The white tide surged by, submerging faces that had sudden epiphanies, and when the tide receded back to the throne, the scene was empty and silent, save for Wayne seated on the White Bone Throne.

"This world is very welcoming to Void Lifeforms, they fell down before I even exerted myself..."

Wayne cleared the screen with a flick, his proficiency at bulldozing weaklings up↑up↑, lamenting that in the Inverted World, the Corruption of the Void was much more useful than Godchosen Artifacts.

Because it was so useful, he couldn’t help but suspect a connection between the two.

"Could this also be part of the Goddess’s calculations?"

In the middle of the ruined city, a light column a hundred meters in diameter pierced the sky.

Like an arrow that could penetrate any barrier, its speed astonishing, it vanished into the high sky like lightning, leaving behind a magnificent trail that lingered.

Sensing the strong energy fluctuations, Philomena was taken aback, redoubling her concealment to ensure she would not be discovered by the Moonlight Followers.

The light of the arrow originated from White Night Purity Words, and Wayne and Galver had already started fighting.

Philomena could not be sure who would win or lose. The Moonlight Knight Galver was certainly strong, but Wayne was too unpredictable; attack after attack seemed unable to harm him.

Philomena reckoned it was an even match, to give some credit to White Night Purity Words, Galver six, Wayne four, the battle would last a long time.

Philomena was hoping for mutual destruction, best if they both perished and their fallout involved the Moonlight Church’s followers, and when she went to collect the corpses, she found nothing but White Night Purity Words.

That was the best outcome, but since Wayne was ’her’ husband, she hoped to find a barely alive Wayne, to care for him for a while to foster affection, so that she could take the man away.

Though she was consistent inside and out, she was the new one; her charm had to be greater than her Outer World self, and as long as she put in some effort, her plan was sure to succeed.

Thinking about these things now was pointless; the key was whether Wayne could survive.

Philomena held her breath and focused, attentive to any disturbances at the scene; the moment Galver appeared, she would immediately leave without delay.

She waited for over three hours.

A figure drifted up from a hole in the ground, and Philomena, seeing it was Wayne and shocked by his formidable power, remained hunkered down, reluctant to reveal herself.

Wait a bit more, what if it’s a trap by Galver!

The harsh survival conditions of the Inverted World made her far more cautious and suspicious than her Outer World self.

Wayne floated mid-air, his thoughts diffuse and not detecting Philomena, he shrugged and descended to the ground, waved his hand to summon White Night Purity Words, turning thoughts into a vast net, interweaving and covering several kilometers.

The bowstring thrummed, and a Magic Power arrow shot out suddenly, like a signal transmission, speeding along the network of thoughts.

In only three seconds, Wayne found Philomena’s hiding place.

This is the advantage of having a teacher; Dreyne had shared numerous skills for using White Night Purity Words, breaking his heart for the successor to quickly excel.

Galver, whom had to figure it out all on his own, did not have this luxury and was particularly rough in utilizing White Night Purity Words, hadn’t even got the hang of passive skills, let alone active ones.

Seeing Philomena, Wayne nocked the bow and released the Magic Power arrow.

With a piercing whistling sound, the arrow traversed layers of barriers, instantly reaching the depths of the sewer, hovering steadily in front of Philomena.

The arrow’s tip flickered with cold light, and the spinning shaft seemed poised to strike, ready at any moment to pierce through Philomena’s forehead.

Philomena’s eyes constricted, she held her breath, daring not to make any sudden moves, her right hand clutching the Waning Moon Single-edged Sword tightly, sweat beading on her nose, and her fragrant shoulders and beautiful back were soaked with cold sweat.

A white light teleported in, taking the place of the arrow, landing in front of Philomena who looked upon Wayne clad in Moonlight Armor and felt a pang of desolation in her heart.

It’s over!

Indeed a trap, Wayne was already dead, and this face was Galver in disguise.

It smells so good!

Wayne sniffed, at least in terms of being drenched in sweat, Philomena was consistent inside and out.
