Chapter 915: Chapter 339 Go to Hell_3
"He~~tui!"
Wayne’s faceless visage cracked open, his pale mouth gaping wide as he spit out a froth of saliva straight toward the handsome countenance of the Lord of Envy.
The Lord of Envy quickly shut his mouth, his body dissipating into mist and reforming a short distance away.
He was extremely wary of Wayne’s corrupting abilities and would say anything to prevent further corruption of his thoughts. Even setting aside the corruption, with the pride of the Hell Demon Lord, he wouldn’t tolerate saliva being spit on his face.
Boom!
A distant explosion caused the Lord of Envy’s thoughts to ache faintly. He looked up to see Mona with the Eye of Judgment burning away half of his body, some of his thoughts disappearing as well.
The strike meant to ensure victory was easily neutralized by Wayne, and the Lord of Envy found no reason to remain there, muttering to himself that it was time to cut his losses and return to Hell.
But to leave now would be to waste his previous losses!
Sunk costs were significant; the Lord of Envy was reluctant to leave. As he pondered, Wayne and Mona flanked him from front and back, completing their encirclement once again.
"Devil, go back to Hell!"
Wayne swung his blade, his four tentacles flailing chaotically; the bizarre scene made the Lord of Envy curse Hell. He reorganized his thoughts and reconstituted his body, single-handedly raising an Abyss that shoved the surrounding space into the distance.
He used this opportunity to escape the disadvantage of being sandwiched between two foes, still choosing Mona, the easier target, for a relentless assault, all the while mocking and taunting her.
"Hexuno, you’ve found your Eye of Judgment, but where is your divine might, your legion? Didn’t you forget to bring them down from Heaven?"
"Today I might not be able to harm you, but now that I know you are in the mortal world, I will surely come for you!"
"Wait for me; I will personally drag you down to Hell!"
As the black and white greatswords clashed, Mona’s face was expressionless while the Lord of Envy smiled hideously.
Two Pale Blades struck from behind Mona, merging with her flesh the moment they touched her lower back, extending from her abdomen and piercing through the Lord of Envy’s chest.
Once again, a move he had never seen before; the Lord of Envy marveled at the limitless possibilities of the Void and was tempted by the evidently bright path it offered.
Wayne stood behind Mona without retracting his blade, took a step forward, merging with her body, and appeared in front of her as if passing through an invisible play of light and shadow.
"???"
The Lord of Envy stared blankly at the approaching Wayne, entangled by tentacles, momentarily forgetting to resist.
Mona struck from the side, sweeping the Oath Sword horizontally close to the Lord of Envy’s shoulder, decapitating his black-haired head.
Wayne did not chase after the severed head. Instead, he focused on retracting his tentacles, trying to reshape this part of the Lord of Envy’s thoughts into his own form.
The Dark Goddess had already made arrangements; there was no reason to let the Hell Demon Lord go, as doing so would create rumors of bias towards Hell. Worse, it might suggest he was lenient towards women, a serious issue.
Such rumors could damage his reputation, giving rise to misinterpretations that he was lecherous!
Boom!!!
A massive mushroom cloud swelled, a surge of black light engulfing Wayne’s body, Mona raised the Oath Sword to block it, only to be blown away by the explosive current.
The Lord of Envy, ruthless as ever, would not give Wayne a chance to corrupt him—not even one in a million. Unable to preserve his thoughts, he detonated them.
The dark mushroom cloud burst open as if the gates of the Abyss were forcibly torn apart, unleashing endless darkness and destruction.
Dark light swept out like a sword, devouring everything in its path, turning all to void.
Umr struggled to maintain the Gates of Heaven, trying to contain the explosion’s force within the Barrier. His intention was good, but his power was insufficient. He watched helplessly as the darkness expanded, pushing the six-sided shape into a sphere, deforming the Gates of Heaven amid creaking sounds, as white chains shattered.
Umr knew he couldn’t stop it and decisively destroyed the top Gate of Heaven.
The pent-up energy found an outlet, thundering skywards, shredding the black vortex clouds, quenching the Thunder and lightning, striking the space apart, and staining the entire sky with ink.
The charred scent of Hell’s scorched earth rapidly spread, the dried air losing vitality and leaving only stillness.
Umr persisted until every last bit of his strength was drained, reluctantly returning to Heaven.
His persistence wasn’t entirely in vain; at least it saved the Holy Spirit Nun who had descended to the mortal world, unlike the surrounding clergy who weren’t so fortunate.
One second they were kneeling devoutly reciting verses from the Bible, the next a thunderous sound rang by their ears, their heads buzzing. All of them bled from their mouths and collapsed, eyes rolled back.
The Holy Light Barrier was shattered by the black light. At the epicenter of the explosion, the sky was fractured, twisted, and collapsing, the earth pierced by darkness, bottomless.
Above and below, the air was filled with the scent of charring and the stench of death. Except for Mona, waving her six wings, and a solitary head, no other figures remained.
Mona, with her eyebrows tightly knitted, sensed the presence of the contract but couldn’t find Wayne anywhere, her anxiety burning.
"Hexuno, what is your relationship with him?"
The Lord of Envy’s head floated in midair, limbs severed below the neck, his earlier resolution to cut losses forgotten utterly.
Thinking back to the scene of Wayne passing through Hexuno, he couldn’t help but be immensely curious. It was too suspicious; this kind of deep-seated trust wasn’t merely that of ordinary comrades.
The Lord of Envy knew well how proud Hexuno was; it was impossible for her to trust a human so deeply, yet she had done just that.
