Chapter 914: Chapter 339: Go to Hell 2
"Too slow!"
The Lord of Envy had fought back-to-back battles, somewhat feverish with the thrill of combat. Faced with the incoming blade and fully aware of the opponent’s corruptive ability, he refused to allow his thoughts direct contact, erupting with internal energy that rendered Wayne immobile.
A white light struck from behind, and the Lord of Envy only heard a hissing sound before looking down to see the tip of the Oath Sword.
"Hexuno, with your pride, to stoop to a surprise attack from behind, you truly have fallen."
The Lord of Envy’s thoughts were scorched by the Holy Flame, his expression twisted in pain as he suppressed the raging Holy Flame within him with the Seven Deadly Sins Melody. During that brief moment of stiffened thought, Wayne captured the opportunity for attack. Dual blades crossed and plunged through the face and chest of the Lord of Envy.
The Golden Rule Holy Words could be suppressed with the Seven Deadly Sins Melody, and even the pale evolution could be held back with it. Battling two at once, the Lord of Envy displayed the poise befitting of the Hell Demon Lord.
If it weren’t for "Three Stabs Six Holes," making a scene akin to seducing a brother’s wife, it would appear even more formidable.
Wayne tightened his tendrils, suppressing the Lord of Envy’s resistance. From the Great Eyeball on his chest, whispers poured forth continuously—potentially not enough to drive the Lord of Envy to madness but sufficient to rigidify his thoughts, preventing him from maintaining a steady output of the Seven Deadly Sins Melody.
Simultaneously, the twin blades piercing the Lord of Envy sprouted fuzzy tentacles, greedily plundering the surrounding Seven Deadly Sins Melody.
Knowledge copyright belonged to the Lord of Envy, so it couldn’t really be called plundering, only copying. The Book of Greed could consume as much as it wanted, but it could not steal knowledge that rightfully belonged to the Lord of Envy.
Not important—the Book of Greed had had its fill, and that was the main point.
Wayne’s smile grew more and more grotesque, his pallid face without features wrinkled and writhed. With the knowledge he acquired growing ever more vast, his power and corruptive force grew increasingly terrifying.
Monster!
The Lord of Envy keenly perceived Wayne’s transformation, associating him with the Lords of Gluttony and Greed. Judging by Wayne’s indiscriminate style, he was markedly similar to those two Demon Kings.
The Lord of Envy’s ink-black hair transformed into countless venomous snakes. Looking back and forth between Wayne and Mona, he cast vicious curses; and in the moment when the two were caught off guard, he broke free from the tendrils and escaped to the sky.
At the first opportunity away, he separated his contaminated thoughts, crushed them by his own hand, refusing evolution and also denying Wayne any chance of acquiring this portion of his thoughts.
The Lord of Envy’s intellect was continually weakened, yet he did not summon more intellect to descend. He sensed the presence of Pride in the depths and seriously suspected that today’s trap was Pride’s doing.
His mind was seriously wounded in the Mortal World, his power in Hell declining; Pride would seize the opportunity to devour his territories in Hell. The plan was well-conceived, laying trap after trap with meticulous planning—a clever play indeed.
But as long as he stopped the losses in time, Pride’s scheme would not succeed!
Despite that, the Lord of Envy felt somewhat discontent, whether he willed to descend to the Mortal World or not. Having come down then to return to Hell with defeat, how would he ever lift his head before Pride again.
The Lord of Envy, wrestling with his thoughts, fixed his gaze on the approaching Mona, the corner of his mouth curled into a cold smirk.
He swung the Dark Magic Sword and charged forward, the gloomy Abyss covering all with his thoughts, repeatedly striking successfully, his expression growing colder and more ruthless.
The life force of The Void was too strange, he was momentarily unable to best his foe, but if he couldn’t handle a fool, could he not defeat the fallen Hexuno?
"Hexuno, didn’t you want to awaken? Then take it!"
The Lord of Envy’s eyes turned to serpentine slits, an invisible energy shot forth. This power was much like the Seven Deadly Sins Melody, yet it was different and not something ordinary beings could comprehend.
Mona’s body lurched, impacted by fragments of memories, and violently recalled something. She raised the Oath Sword in front of her.
Behind her appeared the phantom of the Eye of Judgment, two pairs of white wings spread out, aligning with the previous pair vertically, all together forming six wings.
The Eye of Judgment phantom composed of a Crucifix and eyeball motif pulsed with golden light; the cruciform shadow contracted, the central eyeball emitting another invisible energy wave.
The two energies collided without interfering, Mona fought in haste and missed hitting the Lord of Envy. Instead, she was struck by the curse he had cast.
She rejected Hexuno, did not become Hexuno, and after all was not that Archangel who stood above the many.
A bizarre energy entered her body; Mona became suddenly weak, her hand clutching the Oath Sword transformed into a claw typical of Hell style. Changes swept throughout her body, rushing towards the six wings and the Eye of Judgment.
"Ha-ha-ha, Hexuno, I hope after your fall you’ll remember who you are. Then, I shall welcome your descent in Hell," the Lord of Envy laughed uproariously, not in a rush to leave, eager to relish the exquisite sight before him.
A tendril coiled around Mona’s waist, tightening and loosening. After they separated, Mona stopped mutating and returned to her normal appearance.
It happened quickly, so quickly the Lord of Envy was still laughing heartily.
"Ha-ha-ha...Ha..."
"Gah!"
The Lord of Envy stared dumbfounded at the sudden turn of events, enough to leave a Demon King agape, clearly demonstrating the profound shock it caused to his heart.
He swallowed reflexively, staring bewilderedly at the incoming blades, momentarily forgetting to resist, only to be sliced in half at the waist by the crossing blades.
Wayne swung his tendrils, knocking away the Lord of Envy’s lower half. His dual blades coming down, he aimed to pursue his advantage and cleave off the Lord of Envy’s arms.
The Lord of Envy, dangling in mid-air, held up the Greatsword to block, and said incredulously, "You moron, what on earth are you..."
