Chapter 909: Chapter 338: Jealousy Descends

Lord of Envy looked at Mona in surprise, thinking he had seen her incorrectly, and upon closer inspection, indeed it was the soul of Archangel Hexuno.

Familiar faces; mistakes were out of the question.

Then he observed the Holy Light Barrier sealing the space around them; setting aside its meager defense, it was thick with the scent of conspiracy — clearly the type of tactics angels were most proficient at.

It was an old routine; he could not have been mistaken.

Thus, whether his arrival was truly Smedley’s intention, he now had to mark it with a question.

It felt like he’d been tricked by angels again!

Lord of Envy’s face showed disgust as one might upon seeing Lord Pride, disdainfully saying, "Hexuno, why have you summoned me to the Mortal World? If you’re bored and want to reminisce with old friends, I can introduce you to a few others."

Mona’s expression was ice cold, her hand gripping the Heaven Holy Spear, with golden light intense in her eyes, nearly taking physical form.

"A fight?"

Lord of Envy pondered for a moment, feeling something was amiss, but now that he was here, retreating without a fight would stain the Demon King’s reputation; Lord Pride would certainly seize the opportunity to mock him.

Fine then, let’s have a little fun.

With a wave of his hand, Lord of Envy summoned a Black Greatsword, reconstructed from his thoughts; it was identical to the weapon Smedley wielded.

Obviously, Smedley was paying homage to his leader in his choice of weapon.

"Umr, go reinforce the seal."

Mona, holding the Holy Spear with the Golden Rule entwined around its shaft, brushed it lightly with a sweep of her hand, as if unraveling seals, the light of dawn awakening slowly.

The spear’s tip shone with brilliant light, like a liquid gold waterfall spilling from the tip, leaving a stunning trail of brilliance in the air.

Within it, isolated yet reflecting off each other, were dots of golden starlight, creating a magnificent canvas of the night sky, as if a golden ladder leading to Heaven, ushering the faithful to a sacred and luminous realm.

Umr beat his wings, carving through the Darkness, positioned at the edge of the Holy Light Barrier; his wings unfurled behind him, each feather extending, transforming into a dense lattice of white chains, securing the Spatial Barrier.

The silhouettes of six Gates of Heaven followed, forming a stable hexahedral Spatial Barrier.

Light flared suddenly, dispelling the darkness and fog, rendering this isolated world into a warm daylight.

Outside the Barrier, the clergy led by Archbishop Hodgson could not see clearly inside, only sensing the powerful divine will, with the sound of Heaven’s bells faintly resonating, subconsciously reciting psalms from the Bible.

The devout Power of Faith flowed into the Barrier, making the Gates of Heaven’s shadows grow more solid.

Inside the Barrier, Wayne heard the words of the Lord of Envy and frowned slightly; the name Hexuno was often mentioned in the Bible.

Archangel Hexuno, a High Order Angel, one of the four Archangels, representing Water of the Four Elements, a sure Sub-celestial Level officer.

So, Saint George’s true name in Heaven is Hexuno, one of the four Archangels?

Wayne tilted his head, pondering; that didn’t seem right. The image of Saint George was of a male Knight, while Hexuno was recorded as female in the Bible; they didn’t match in gender.

After thinking it over, he deemed he was being narrow-minded; gender need not be so strictly adhered to.

Besides, angels inherently had no gender; Saint George being female in Heaven didn’t affect his male identity in the Mortal World.

It made perfect sense, completely aligning with the gender-neutral characteristics of angels.

Up until then, Wayne still had no suspicions about Mona; he trusted his secretary too much, attributing the changes in her to the influence of the Blood of Saint George.

Subsequently, the way the Lord of Envy addressed Mona was attributed to Saint George.

Their master-servant contract was solid; Mona was capable as always, suitable for high halls and low balconies alike; Wayne never considered she might be the last Reincarnated Angel.

Laughable, what Reincarnated Angel would find a fake one, sell themselves with a contract?

That would be utterly embarrassing.

Impossible, utterly impossible!

Lord of Envy, clad in his robe, with the Black Greatsword in hand, his black hair dancing, connected to the Void and dragging swathes of the Abyss that Devoured all things.

The black greatsword gleamed with dark magical light, accompanied by the rumbling of Thunder, shaking the sealed space, dyeing the area he was in pitch black.

At the intersection of light and Darkness, the stark contrast of black and white was evident, where the pure energy collision spread out ripples and waves, engulfing everything nearby.

As the presence of the two figures continued to rise, Lord of Envy was the first unable to withstand it.

He was forcibly sacrificed by Smedley to descend to the Mortal World, his thought capacity limited, far from his prime, coupled with today’s odd arrival, he suspected Hexuno had done this on purpose, weakening his will to fight.

Boom!

The Black Greatsword dragged endless Darkness, devoured everything in a flash, the somber sword light cleaving the air, leaving behind black fissures, and the world-ending energy seemed to rip the entire world apart.

Mona, holding the Holy Spear, met the challenge; the Golden Rule burst forth with dazzling light, illuminating Darkness, dispelling the negative shadows approaching.

On the battlefield, dust rose while the two figures clashed in a moment, the earth unable to bear the weight, abruptly collapsing downward, crevices tearing apart as everything within sight trembled.

Lord of Envy was still probing something, but Mona went all out, instantly escalating the battle to a fever pitch; with her ferocious Holy Spear spilling radiant golden light, she overwhelmed Lord of Envy at the first encounter, forcing him into a rough and tumble defense, a touch bedraggled in his disarray.

This woman has gone mad!

Lord of Envy cursed inwardly; he was but a wisp of thought descended to the Mortal World, defeating him was nothing to boast about. What great hatred, to start fighting to the death upon meeting?
