Chapter 894: Chapter 334 Archangel_2

Fighting was never an issue, but before they fought, everything had to be made clear.

No one, be the person a human or an angel, should come out of a fight misunderstanding it as a minor issue.

One could always set traps and dig holes.

The angel and Hodgson had signed a contract, summoned by the Golden Rule Bible, and descended into a clergyman endowed with the "Holy Spirit Body."

She had worked with Hodgson for many years and, relations being pleasant, she trusted Hodgson more than the stranger Wayne and couldn’t take in a word he said.

Putting aside their closeness, she witnessed Wayne’s unruly claws, her colleague summoned and controlled, expression wildly fluctuating, furious yet unable to speak out.

Good and bad were as clear as day, even a blind man could see it.

The angel looked down on Wayne with disgust in her eyes, an undisguised attitude that greatly infuriated Mona, ignoring the opposite angel’s identity, she swiftly grasped the necklace at her chest, unleashing the fiercely burning Heaven Holy Spear.

The partially released Holy Spear was over two and a half meters long.

With the Holy Spear in hand, her wings spread behind her, her body slowly rising, confronting the angel mid-air.

"This is not a battle you should be part of, go open the Barrier and protect the cathedral!" ordered Hodgson as the devil, exposed and raging with embarrassment, prepared for a fierce battle and requested the clergy at the scene to evacuate quickly.

Aside from a few white-bearded old men, others fled, each taking their places, activating the Barrier of Saint Patrick Cathedral, ensuring the sacred ground remained untainted by the devil.

Mid-air, the angel, noticing Mona’s Holy Spear, flashed a hint of surprise in his cold eyes and challenged, "That Holy Spear shouldn’t be in your hands, where did you get it from?"

"From my master."

"..."

The angel fell silent. They all had but one master, the Heavenly Father who ruled above all, yet clearly, the master Mona referred to was not the Heavenly Father.

"You have fallen!"

"No, it is you who have been blinded by false lies."

Their exchanges were severely limited, each had their reasoning, and neither was good at persuading the other using words, so they both raised their Holy Spears in a gesture of mutual respect, preserving each other’s final dignity.

Boom!!

Two beams of white light collided, emitting blinding light at the point where the tips of the spears met, accompanied by deafening roars, violent soundwave shockwaves wreaked havoc below.

The marble floor cracked, the colors in the murals peeled off in the tremors, and the surrounding stained glass shattered instantly, sending fragments flying, swept by the violent currents, like a meteor shower striking the surroundings of the cathedral.

The clergy struggled to maintain the Barrier, striving to protect the integrity of the cathedral, but as the battle intensified, the leaking energy waves grew stronger, gradually overwhelming them, quickly draining their Magic Power.

Walls were splotched, and the place was a complete mess, the once sacred and solemn now reduced to ruins.

Two white figures darted inside the cathedral, wings pristine, golden eyes cold and merciless, each cloaked in armor formed from Holy Light.

After a near miss, they both stopped.

Both sides agreed, continuing the battle would only harm the cathedral further; it was better to settle the fight outside in the square.

"Hodgson, widen the Barrier!"

The angel coldly spoke, flapping through the wreckage of the windows in the wall.

Above the square, Mona stood with her spear erect, waiting for the angel to take position. The golden Holy Spear traced a dazzling light, although restrained, still contained the cataclysmic waves of Holy Light.

White Holy Flame petals fell, intertwining with a somber aura, the oppressively thick air stifling under their weight.

Under the moonlight, the cathedral’s soaring spire was sheared off, the two white figures crisscrossing and flipping in the air, layers of scorching white spear shadows shook the cathedral, dust rising, the building ready to collapse.

Just then, several white-bearded old men joined the defense of the Barrier, otherwise, it surely would have collapsed already.

Around the cathedral, the Barrier enveloped layers upon layers, deflecting light and isolating sound, preventing the outside townspeople from seeing the internal strife among the angels.

Wayne stood within the crumbling cathedral, his mind capturing the trembling space around, silently cursing the situation as bizarre.

Mona was still holding back, not operating at full power, while the angel opposing her was outrageously strong, not the common sort.

The outcome of the battle suddenly became hard to predict.

"Devil, the cathedral is ruined because of you, you must pay the price in blood."

Hodgson embraced the Golden Rule Bible, and even though there was no one around, he didn’t forget to maintain his persona, continuously shouting "devil" in an attempt to shift the blame onto Wayne.

"Enough, stop acting. We both know who the devil is."

Wayne raised an eyebrow. "Indeed, I come from the Papal State, and your misdeeds are well known to the Pope himself. Guess how long it will be before the Papal State’s army arrives?"

Hodgson’s eyes narrowed. He knew his lies could only fool people temporarily; once the Papal State’s army arrived, all his preparations would be in vain.

He couldn’t wait any longer!

Hodgson spread his hands to expand the Life Force Field, a sanctified light enveloping Wayne’s position, dragging him into a white world filled with a sea of clouds.

Similar to the Heaven Wayne had once seen, Hodgson had once entered Heaven with the Golden Rule Bible and signed a contract with the angels, creating his own world modeled after Heaven.

It wasn’t ambition—that would be an exaggeration. It was more of a tribute.

Seeing Wayne standing confused in the midst of the sea of clouds, Hodgson felt relieved. While manipulating Wayne’s Perception, he asked, "When will the Papal State’s army arrive, how many are they, and who are the notable strong figures among them?"
