Chapter 819: Chapter 315 Frequent Fires in the Magic Department_2

Chris was the closest, and thus most tainted by the dew, yet to this day there had been no ups and downs.

Their Life Rank was too low to carry on Wayne’s lineage.

It also wouldn’t rule out another possibility—that Wayne was no longer human, that there was a reproductive barrier due to a different species.

This possibility existed, but it wasn’t likely.

Veronica had Dragon Blood, which was famously indiscriminate, overflowing with just a bit of rain water; even she had no ups and downs, suggesting the likelihood of a reproductive barrier was not high, and the disparity in Life Rank had to be the reason for deeper investigation.

Wayne could sacrifice himself, confronting Juno with a chaotic creation, but then what? If no results could be produced, would he keep freelancing indefinitely?

How embarrassing would that be!

Wayne hadn’t spelled it out, but when outsiders asked, he’d reply that his career took precedence and that he was in no rush to spread his seed. He hoped Austin would figure it out himself, understanding that aiding the Royal Family in continuing the bloodline was a matter of utmost importance but one in which he was powerless to assist.

After a couple of years, if the Queen could no longer bear it, she might turn to Austin for help in carrying on the family lineage, seeing as she was idle anyway—might as well try for some fertility luck.

Seeing Wayne’s indifferent approach to the charter, Austin couldn’t help but look at him with new respect, even though a small trash bin like him had finally turned a new leaf and begun to get serious.

It was a cause for celebration!

"Have you dealt with the Grey Space?"

"Currently working on it."

Upon mention of the Grey Space, Wayne was immediately alert, vigorously saying, "I will find a way to divide the Grey Space to ensure that the upper echelons of the Magic Department, while holding Ancient Silver Coins, can communicate with the Four Elements. But as for the Royal Family activating Divine Blood, don’t even think about it, that information will be handled separately."

Austin nodded, eager to sort it out sooner than later for peace of mind and to preclude any further notions from the Queen, and he had no desire to actually do anything to the Queen.

"Speaking of the upper ranks of the Magic Department, I’ve discussed with the Queen and concluded that the previous staff is no longer suitable, requiring new arrangements."

Austin retrieved a list from his breast pocket, which Wayne took and scanned.

The deputy minister positions were vacant since Anick and Shati were officially declared missing, while the incumbent Deputy Minister Ivette remained in place.

This was Austin’s intention; he had a favorable impression of Ivette, who had looked after him.

Herman’s treatment was also the same, continuing his role as Commander of the Holy Light Knights and stationed at St. George’s Church in Windsor Castle.

Both were Legendary Mages loyal to the Royal Family. Any new sovereign would distance such remnants from the centers of power, but Austin hadn’t done that, allowing them to keep their original posts.

Perhaps this was the reason why the Queen decided to test the waters.

Sophia: He still loves me!

"Plank didn’t attend the banquet and distanced himself from the Tulip Family, at least outwardly he wasn’t involved..."

Austin glanced at Wayne, seeing him intently focused on the list, and continued, "Plank remains the Dean of the Red Leaf Forest Asylum. No merit, no reward; no error, no punishment."

"Bedford and Borne were controlled by a mysterious person and took part in the kidnapping of the Queen. Regardless of whether they volunteered or not, what’s done is done; they must be punished."

"Borne’s research project was halted, and his data on the Star Beasts has already been sent to the Magical Department Headquarters..."

Austin said expressionlessly, "Bedford had no part-time job in the Magic Department; his punishment involves nationalizing the Bedford Shipyard. Due to procedural issues, it’s temporarily managed on account by the Lando Family, overseeing the shipyard on behalf of the nation."

"Tsk, power sure is handy, far more useful than Magic."

Wayne nodded repeatedly; this was why he dreamed of being a rich second-generation, things should have been done this way earlier.

"Celeste has been recalled to Lundan, in charge of overseeing the Mist to prevent the sudden surge of uncontrolled Magical Beings during the night," Austin continued.

Celeste, tainted by Wayne, nominally a teacher for the Princess and a liaison between the Royal Family and the Holy See, had in fact become one of Wayne’s Followers. Assigning him to oversee the Mist was not likely to cause any trouble.

Unless Wayne went mad!

"Moreover, the identity of the mysterious person has been revealed: Frank Turner, a Hell Study Expert of the Tulip Family. I had my suspicions before, but it was dropped because of the Queen."

As he said this, Austin shook his head; the Royal Family was on the wane, and Frank had exerted considerable effort. In the end, it was the Queen’s fault.

"As for the person behind Frank, or Frank’s ally, we’ve found no traces of their identity, not even a shadow," Austin said gravely. Every time he thought of a sinister plotter hidden in the dark, potentially from Hell, he couldn’t help but feel agitated.

With Frank revealed from the shadows, the Lando Family exposed, the Royal Family exposed, this person alone remained hidden to the end.

Wayne was equally clueless, the other party was just too well-hidden; who could have guessed that Frank was just a pawn.

Also, because of this person, the Queen had to exist, standing in front as a shield against attacks.

After some thought, he said, "I want a copy of Frank’s Hell Studies, Borne’s Star Beast research data. I need to establish a new base, and I plan to conduct research on the Grey Space."

"Have you discovered anything?"

"Some speculation."

Wayne’s brow arched, his voice lowered, "The fallen god seems to have been a Giant Dragon. Aunt Mei’s birth likely has a connection with the Grey Space. I advise you to investigate thoroughly if you wish to avoid any accidents befalling her."
