Chapter 818: Chapter 315 Frequent Fires in the Magic Department
"Why, cat got your tongue?"
Austin glanced disdainfully at the little trash bin, recalling his own reflection from last year; he knew this little punk was a playboy just like him in his younger days, always charging ahead at the sight of a beautiful woman.
The difference was, he had money back in his youth, while Wayne only had potatoes. He had turned over a new leaf later, whereas Wayne followed his path into the darkness.
"What can I say, that you’ve got me wrong, would you believe that? After all, in your mind, I am just a little pervert."
No, not little.
"Even if I say it, you might still not believe me, even if it’s about the Princess and her fiancée both—I still feel wronged."
Wayne waved his hand, "It’s not a matter of how many, it’s about feelings. The princess isn’t my type; her heart is too wild. I prefer someone a bit simpler."
Wayne was telling the truth; he understood Juno very well; his research was thorough, confident he knew her even better than she knew herself.
Physically, he felt no compunction helping the princess improve her bloodline, but spiritually, he was wronged, feeling no spark and making quick work of it was uninteresting.
If had to say, the princess’s fiancée was somewhat more intriguing.
All in all, Wayne wasn’t lacking beautiful companions, especially Saina and Philomena, who were perfect beyond reproach; he had set his standards high and did not want to settle for less.
The Princess was nice, but he was destined to be the man she couldn’t have.
Seeing the trash bin’s irrevocable refusal, Austin was puzzled, "You actually have a day when you refuse beautiful women, and it’s even a buy-one-get-one-free deal! Unbelievable, is it a side effect of the Death Knight?"
Wayne: ε=(′д`*)
"You don’t understand, I have my own difficulties!"
It wasn’t easy maintaining a private life, Wayne sighed.
No matter how tempting the wildflowers outside, he already had a garden of his own. The honest man just wanted to tend to his own garden and lead a simple life.
Austin figured out the reason, glaring hard at Wayne, shut his eyes for the ’out of sight, out of mind’ attitude, "You figure out how to handle things with the princess. I don’t care how you do it; I’ve already promised the Queen that the future King will inherit both the Lando and Windsor bloodlines."
"Then it’s even less up to me to put in the effort."
"Go tell the Queen that and see if she believes you!"
"...x2

To think he believed I was his father, what an insult!
To think he believed I was his son, the Queen swears too much!
Both sighed simultaneously, Wayne spoke, "Father, in my opinion..."
"Shut up, don’t call me father. I don’t have a son like you."
Austin cut him off directly, utterly exhausted, without realizing he had misspoken.
Wayne didn’t realize either, reflecting on how difficult it was to rebel, particularly after a successful rebellion, having to clean up a huge mess and feeling a bit of regret on the spur of the moment.
Still, given another chance, he would still choose to support Austin.
Just as ’Fate, Emptiness, I’ are in balance, advancing steadily, power, status, and reputation also mutually enhance each other.
Fist Power is the Power; even if Fist Power does not actively chase power, power gravitates towards Fist Power.
If he didn’t rebel now, he would eventually be suspected and feared by the Royal Family because of secrets coming to light, ultimately leading to a major conspiracy against the Lando Family.
Wayne simply chose to be proactive rather than passive.
"I have no intentions towards the Princess, you shouldn’t have promised the Queen without my consent. You overpower her; the status is unchangeable. Giving her false hope will only lead her to keep testing the boundaries, and in the end... she’s the one who ends up unlucky," Wayne said earnestly.
Austin understood this quite well, knowing from the Queen’s recent revealing attire that she had begun testing waters.
He understood, but Austin had never planned to rebel and become King, what could he do? He could only let time prove everything.
Moreover, he had no idea how to stall.
The Dark Church is set to take root in Lundan, likely becoming Lundan’s most powerful religious force.
Thus, Hefei and Philomena would inevitably represent their respective churches to fight for interests.
Austin found no reason to refuse; if permitted, these three churches would continue to grow, high-ranking officials would be insiders, but at the lower levels, religion blinds, and friction leading to physical conflicts would be inevitable.
Or the Heavenly Father’s Court might just create a scenario; no need to incite discord, the three churches would start fighting among themselves.
After that evening’s banquet, the scale of balance had already tilted, and it couldn’t be pulled back.
These days, Austin had been handling state affairs; Queen Sophia was thoroughly lackadaisical, holding her tea pretending to be busy, watching Austin struggle to solve problems as if it were a joke.
In addition to the Equilibrium Church, there were chaotic domestic politics, poor diplomacy, tumultuous international situations, and...
There was a lack of money everywhere!
Austin was frustrated; he had never wanted to be King, and now he wanted it even less, tempted to push Wayne out, but fearful the latter might just ruin the country.
"So, as long as you continue the Princess’s bloodline, the Queen has hope, she will take initiative to govern the country."
He explained his recent tribulations, the words filled with helplessness, a price Wayne had instigated a revolution for, and now he had to step up to take responsibility.
At the end, he added, "We can make it official later."
"Let’s talk about it later, maybe a few years from now my taste might change, and I might feel differently about the Princess." Wayne still waved his hand, not outright denying this time, leaving Austin a bit of hope.
He might sleep with her, but the bloodline definitely wouldn’t continue.
No other reason, his Life Rank was just too high, the Princess’s constitution not a match.
Apart from Saina, Veronica, Chris, Viley, Philomena, and Mona who were definitively off the menu, Wayne had his way with each and every one.
