Chapter 785: Chapter 306 Death Knight: I am not fond of fighting, so I must resolve conflicts_4

Borne thought to himself that it was troublesome; had he known earlier, he would have had Planck come over. He stood next to Bedford, confronting two legendary mages, Anick and Shati.

Two against two, he wasn’t afraid of a high-level matchup.

The rest swarmed forward; with Kimo being just a Golden Mage, he could be easily taken down.

Once they took control of Kimo and brought him to Buckingham Palace, the Queen, being kind and wise, would surely come to understand that the discord between sovereign and subject was all due to Kimo’s meddling.

Thinking of this, Borne felt the plan was feasible. With a troubled face, he said, "Baron Kimo, the magical barrier set up by the two deputy ministers is very clever, so clever that we didn’t notice even when the cruise ship plunged right in, but are you sure the ambush outside can rush in to save you in time?"

Douglas sneered.

Borne waved his hands repeatedly and said, "Don’t get me wrong, I am utterly loyal to the Queen and harbor no ulterior motives; I am just concerned for your safety, nothing more."

"Mage Borne, indeed, no one from outside can come in, but that’s because I want it that way. There are some secrets that they shouldn’t know." Douglas’s mouth curved in amusement as he watched Borne’s performance, finding it incredibly ridiculous.

"Secrets?!"

Seeing Douglas’s confidence and realizing there must be some other trump card aside from the two new deputy ministers, Borne reluctantly started to back down.

That’s how legendary mages are: sitting on the fence when powerful, striking hard when able, and submissive when not, defaulting to praying behind the crowd in times of uncertainty, always playing it safe.

Bedford: (눈_눈)

You old thing, why are you standing behind me?

Bedford was nearly dead from frustration, and though he himself was also timid, that didn’t stop him from being brutally critical, glaring fiercely at Borne before speaking to him, "Baron Kimo, what secret are you referring to, your eloquent mouth, or the invisible air?"

Bedford: The secret isn’t revealed yet; what are you afraid of?

Borne: This is showing weakness to the enemy; it’s a tactic!

"Ha ha ha————"

Douglas laughed out loud, clapping his hands twice: "Open your eyes wide and see clearly, today you will all die a clear and conscious death!"

After the clapping, Douglas stretched one hand to his chest toward the empty air and bowed slightly, very humbly.

The two new deputy ministers did the same, and upon closer inspection, one could see fear flickering in their eyes. A ninety-degree bow cannot be simply called humble; it was downright servile.

Everyone stepped back together as Borne quickly moved Bedford in front of him, his eyes dead set on the empty air.

At the same time, the powerful perception of the legendary mage spread out, vigilant for possible surprise attacks.

Ten seconds later.

Douglas raised his head, and both sides stared at each other in a standoff. Fierst couldn’t help but laugh out loud right then and there.

That laugh broke the tense atmosphere of confrontation, and Bedford’s side immediately relaxed, laughing heartily.

"Baron Kimo, you’re quite the actor!"

"Where did this clown come from, some stinky outsider, he really made me laugh."

"Look at him, he’s sweating through his back!"

"Ha ha ha————"xN

Amidst the laughter, it was Douglas’s turn to grow anxious. Wasn’t the hand clapping the signal? Why was there no sign of the Death Knight?

Could it be that I’ve been tricked?

"Jie jie jie jie————"

Amidst a series of eerie chuckles, a hearty laugh suddenly erupted. A dark portal pulling in the cold light burst open in front of Douglas, with the Death Knight astride the Undead Warhorse arriving on the scene.

People retreated in succession, feeling a chill in their hearts, desperately jostling for a spot further back to hand over the center position to their allies.

"Knight Lord, you’ve finally arrived."

Douglas felt slightly resentful; for a moment, he truly thought the Death Knight would stand him up.

Once was like this, and twice was the same; to play tricks every time, the Death Knight’s character was really difficult to deal with.

"The portal was stuck in traffic, delaying me a little."

Wayne threw out an unreliable excuse, the white light flickering across his skeletal face as he looked down on the members of the Tulip Family.

He isn’t Austin; his knowledge of the Tulip Family is limited, so even though the scene was full of talent, there were few he knew.

"Death Knight, why are you here?"

Bedford’s cold sweat wouldn’t stop, his heart already half cold. While feeling sorrowful, he was curious about how much the Queen had paid to persuade the God-chosen Knight.

Just say the word, and the Queen can give you so much; the Tulip Family will double it.

"Jie jie jie, don’t be afraid, gentlemen, I’m merely an ally of the Queen, not here specifically against you."

With the Shadowmare drawn, Wayne pointed at the two legendary mages. "The Goddess is kindhearted and does not wish to see needless deaths. As a Death Knight, I resolutely implement the Goddess’s Divine Decree, so..."

"I’m not one to fight, but to settle fights. Today, I come to mediate."

"Give me face, attend the Queen’s banquet. Stop fighting, okay?"

"..."xN

Look at the way you’re putting it, hurry up and put away your Divine Artifact, as if we could refuse you!

The hearts of the people sank. The Death Knight’s appearance meant the overall situation was decided. No matter what tricks they had up their sleeves, they could only peacefully raise their hands to surrender and await their fate at the Queen’s banquet.

"Very reasonable!"

Fierst nodded again and again, moving quickly to Douglas’s side. It was shameful to say, but he was the mole.
