Chapter 763: Chapter 301 Feeling Like I’ve Won Big

Night.

Fog.

High-end restaurant.

The black limousine slowly came to a stop.

Wayne, dressed in a black suit, strutted into the restaurant looking like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, followed by Mona in formal attire.

Her appearance was very similar to Megan’s, with a ladies’ suit and trousers, a tall and straight figure, and brisk mannerisms. Except for not having short hair and adding a pair of glasses, there was hardly any difference.

It was clear that Wayne was cosplaying Austin; he didn’t need any makeup to play a large trash bin, all he had to do was dial back and exaggerate his flaws.

On the third floor by the window, Wayne saw the poor relatives of the Lando Family.

The family head, Bancer Lando, his wife Jennifer, eldest son Olin, second son Naren, the third, the fourth, the fifth daughter...

All in all, they were a prolific bunch, and counting down, there were a crowd of young people of Wayne’s generation, easily thirty to forty people, pushing the idea of strength in numbers.

In terms of generational hierarchy, Bancer was Austin’s uncle, considered a distant relative, but the blood relation was in fact quite close, it was just that they lived far and hadn’t been in contact for many years.

Wayne’s generation of grandchildren, seeing him approach with an air of disowning kinsmen, made Bancer quite displeased.

Austin was the head of the Lando Family, and although a junior, Bancer had to show him respect due to his position as head. What was Wayne but a mere successor, and just a grandchild at that! Was there any need to humiliate someone like this!

Bancer felt slighted and insulted but hid his feelings, his smile unchanged as he took the initiative to say, "So you’re Wayne, aren’t you? You look so much like Austin, I thought the rumor about you being his love child was false, but who could’ve guessed it was actually true."

Bancer, well into his fifties, still had a youthful heart. He maintained a middle-aged appearance and looked only about a decade older than Austin.

His words were laced with mockery and barbs. Wayne didn’t take it to heart, and turning to Olin, who was aggressively posturing, he said, "Your Excellency has a noble demeanor, truly fitting the Lando Family ethos, I presume you must be the esteemed family head, Grandfather Bancer."

"..."xN

Bancer’s smile became stiff, his skills in maintaining composure were not bad, and he managed not to show a darkened expression on the spot.

Olin’s eyes widened as he sensed his father’s anger and quickly clarified, "No, I’m not. I’m your Uncle Olin Lando. This is my father, Bancer Lando, the true head of the family."

"No way, this old guy looks so ordinary, completely lacking the presence and ambition you have. You must be the family head."

"I am not!"

"Then surely in the future you will be, compared to your siblings, you’re incomparable."

"..."xN

The crowd stirred, and several individuals rolled up their sleeves, ready to rush up and teach Wayne a lesson.

Wayne’s eyes shone as he snapped his fingers.

Mona pushed up her glasses and took two steps to stand beside Wayne.

"Enough, what’s there to gain from picking a quarrel with a youngster in public? You’re making a mockery of the Lando Family’s reputation," Bancer snorted coldly, scolding everyone to return to their seats.

"Wayne, I’m here in Lundan because of the Queen’s summons. Why isn’t Austin here, didn’t he understand the Queen’s command?"

"Old man, is this your first day in Lundan? Don’t you know about my father’s relationship with the Queen?"

Wayne sneered, noticing the onlookers who were dressed lavishly, either rich or noble, and pointed at them, "Go ask around. Who doesn’t know that my father was the Queen’s first love? Their relationship is crystal clear to all of Lundan."

"..."xN

Not clear, please elaborate!xN

The onlooking crowd were helpers invited by Bancer, cameo appearances for tonight’s passerby, actually there to boost Bancer’s presence; they were all the more curious upon hearing this.

They wouldn’t dare gossip about the Queen, but listening in, disguised as bystanders, they had the audacity.

Wayne was well aware that among these people there would definitely be the Queen’s informants, and possibly even spies from the Tulip Family or even the Prince and Princess.

For nobles to maintain the facade of high society was not easy; selling one piece of information to three different parties was both reasonable and logical.

Knowing this, Wayne openly stated, "I don’t mind telling you, the Prince passed away early, and over these years, my father Austin often gets summoned by the Queen late at night to discuss state affairs, her most trusted adviser."

"Be sensible, don’t mention the Queen in front of me. My father has seen the Queen in person more times than you’ve seen her pictures!"

"Do you think the Queen invited your family over to enjoy yourselves? Ridiculous, that would never happen. If not for fear of the other Tulip Families objecting, you wouldn’t have been able to return to Lundan in this lifetime."

Arrogant and disrespectful towards the Monarch, this young man won’t last long!xN

All the bystanders made their silent judgments, oddly unanimous, expressing their silent condolences for Wayne’s future.

But then they thought again—Austin was so astute, and Wayne carried his blood; it wouldn’t make sense for him to be so impudent, unless...

Everything Wayne said was true!

For a moment, the entire restaurant fell silent, Bancer’s family stood dumbstruck, the onlookers froze with their knives and forks.

The sound of a pin dropping could be heard.

"Ahem, I said too much; all those things should probably have stayed unsaid."

Wayne pulled out a chair and sat down with his legs spread wide, raising an eyebrow, "But no matter, it’s all under the Queen’s sky here in Lundan. Even if I said it, no one would dare to spread it."

A flurry of verbal jabs left Bancer at a loss; he took the handkerchief his wife handed him and hastily wiped the sweat from his forehead, then sat down across from Wayne, leaning on his Walking Stick.

Looking at the seating arrangement, Wayne was completely encircled by the Bancer family. He should have been in a dangerous position, surrounded by foes, but due to the unclear relationship between Austin and the Queen, Wayne ended up in the spotlight, relegating Bancer’s family to a supporting role.
