Chapter 759: Chapter 299 Prince Douglas_3
Inside the warehouse.
Four figures were exchanging opinions.
The organizer and leader of this operation, Mona, the executor and team leader Artley, Regina, and the lifelike former Holy Maiden of the Naturalism Church, Flora.
The body was Flora’s, but inside was a Resentful Spirit, and today it was her turn to possess the body.
In front of the four lay a group of Black Robes, scattered haphazardly on the floor; in the center, candles had been snuffed out, and the red Inverted Pentagram was particularly conspicuous.
The Inverted Pentagram symbolizes impurity, the fundamental Magic Array of Hell, which, paired with different devil beliefs, can establish a connection with any devil in Hell.
Including the seven Demon Kings!
"It’s the Inverted Pentagram Magic Array of the Lord of Greed, these people..."
Mona was halfway through speaking when she sensed Wayne’s arrival and stepped back two paces to stand behind him, and started again, "Boss, these people are members of the Queen’s investigation team, they have another task besides investigating the Princess."
"They were planning to take action against St. Paul Cathedral!" said the Resentful Spirit in Flora’s body.
While speaking, she edged closer to Wayne with a teasing smile, squandering Flora’s elegant Holy Maiden temperament and Glamor Lady face.
Big sister, just talk, why are you getting so close?
Wayne rolled his eyes, remembering that the Resentful Spirit was named Lisbeth, cheerful and very lively, always involved in girls’ dormitory quarrels, a bad example in the eyes of colleagues and a thorn in the side of the leadership.
Glancing at Artley, Lisbeth deliberately leaned against Wayne’s arm: "Master, according to the investigation, the Queen designated these people to use the Princess’s reserved magical materials to summon the powers of the Hell Demon Lord, targeting St. Paul Cathedral."
The Queen used the Princess’ resources to attack The Church’s power in Lundan, to frame the Princess...
It sounded wrong, but upon reflection, it also seemed to be without issue.
Wayne thought it was a headache and patted ’Flora’s shoulder: "Honestly, when you’re using this body, it’s best to keep a certain distance from me; I’m not very fond of this face."
"Ah?!"
Lisbeth was startled by the remark, feeling defeated and morose as she stepped back two paces.
Artley, having transformed into a Succubus, was speechless on all counts.
Her subordinate knew she and Wayne were dating, spreading rumors and gossip incessantly, unstoppable, like Lisbeth, who didn’t really want to get close to Wayne but did so to tease her for fun.
And such acts were glorified as helping, using pressure as a driving force.
To tease was one thing, but using Flora’s body for it – didn’t she know this person used to be her teacher in life?
Such provocations were uncalled for!
Was it to provoke her or Wayne?
After hearing most of the report, Wayne bent down to examine the Black Robe mages, all of whom were mages that believed in Hell, and dead soldiers trained by the Royal Family. Since the Royal Family’s politics required a belief in Hell, it was difficult to judge whether they represented evil.
"The internal strife of the Royal Family is too troublesome; had I known, I wouldn’t have gotten involved."
Wayne thought it was a headache, he just wanted to help Juno sort out potential troubles; he never expected that while investigating, the Resentful Spirit would actually dig up something substantial.
And that something was related to the Queen.
Portray the Queen as evil – she did this to secure her rule, but her intentions weren’t entirely pure as they were linked to devils of Hell.
Can those devils be anything good?
Now the higher-ups from the Naturalism Church Headquarters could stand on moral high ground and pontificate.
"Boss, the Queen wants to make the Princess draw a clear line from the Heavenly Father’s Court, at least to create a rift in their cooperation..." said Mona slowly.
Wayne felt the same way; from this perspective, the Queen had shown mercy towards the Princess, providing a warning and an opportunity for reconciliation.
As a mother, she was undoubtedly competent, which left Wayne unsure of how to proceed.
Ignoring it would spell trouble for St. Paul Cathedral; Gunther and Artley were decent people and did not deserve such misfortune;
Helping St. Paul Cathedral through this crisis would spell trouble for the Princess and would deepen the Queen’s wariness of the Heavenly Father’s Court, leading to even more aggressive maneuvers.
"Bind the people, send a letter to the Magical Department Headquarters."
Wayne, after much deliberation, knew that standing by and doing nothing was not an option: "Mona, go tell Gunther, explain the reason to him, he will understand what happened."
As for whether Gunther would liaise with the Papal State, Wayne could not manage that.
Naturally, after this manipulation, the Queen would certainly think the letter came from the covert forces of the Heavenly Father’s Court in Lundan, which, frightened, would only make her more wary of the Heavenly Father’s Court.
The conflict escalates, with no solution in sight.
Wayne knew this but had no good solution, deciding to find Austin tomorrow and persuade him once more to take the Queen down completely.
As long as Austin sacrificed his individual needs for the greater good, he would surely be able to win over the Queen, and Lundan would have a much quieter time for a while.
At the very least, there would be no tragedy of the Princess recklessly summoning a devil, a devil raiding the cathedral at night, and the Archbishop dying in battle!
Mona nodded, not satisfied with Wayne’s compromise, feeling that it favored the Royal Family, causing their own people to suffer.
According to her, since the Royal Family was entangled with the devils, they should replace the King with someone who could represent justice and light.
Speaking of which, she just knew the perfect person for the role; it would be a waste for him not to be King.
But since Wayne had arranged it this way, Mona would follow the orders unconditionally.

Elsewhere.
In the suburbs of Lundan City, a private estate of the Royal Family, a royal vacation manor, far from the mists.
Queen Sophia, clad in a white nightgown, with elegant long hair cascading over her shoulders, stood by the window looking at the bright moon.
At this moment, a figure walked in from outside the house, strode behind the Queen, and brazenly embraced her.
The man was black-haired with dark eyes, around thirty, his handsome features strikingly noble, and his every movement exuded the aristocratic grace of the genuine Union Jack of Lundan.
Queen Sophia shook her head slightly, "Baron Kimo, this is rather presumptuous of you given your status."
"What about as Douglas?"
Kimo asked with a smile, lifting Sophia’s hand and placing a kiss on the back of it.
The name Douglas, coupled with the Queen of Windsor, there are a thousand, if not eight hundred, but only one person comes to mind when standing next to the Queen—Prince Douglas.
The Queen’s husband, Prince Douglas, died young, and there was much speculation about his death. The most outrageous rumor was surely that the marriage failed, and the Queen, in league with an old lover, had him killed.
Austin: Indeed, outrageous.
Clearly, Douglas had not died, instead continuing to live under a different identity in Windsor.
The relationship between the husband and wife was excellent, the Prince being the Pure Love War God, and the Queen pristine and chaste...
The Prince was indeed the Pure Love War God, although the Queen’s pristine chastity could be questionable, given her ex-boyfriend was a renowned playboy skilled in many arts before marriage.
The first love didn’t understand love; Douglas acted as if nothing had happened, and to this day, the couple’s relationship remained excellent.
Sophia retracted her hand with a smile, facing her husband’s affection with a stern face she reprimanded, "Baron Kimo, you are overstepping."
"It is the Queen’s fault in the first place. Your indecent clothing has given your subordinate improper thoughts."
The two exchanged banter, their romance flying high.
If Wayne saw this scene, he would surely abandon the idea of Austin intervening as a third party, not only due to the Pure Love War God’s disgust for the Minotaur, but also due to the couple’s evident relationship.
Austin was already a thing of the past, the Queen had no room for him in her eyes or heart... presumably also lacking in her heart.
"Baron Kimo, what important matter do you wish to discuss, meeting in the dead of night?"
"Indeed, there is a matter of great importance."
Douglas stated slowly, "I have resolved the issue of the reductions in the Magic Department. Two Legendary Mages from Frank are willing to join Windsor, and you just need to arrange for someone to succeed Allen’s position."
"Furthermore, I have found a very powerful ally that can be used to counterbalance the overbearing Heavenly Father’s Court."
"Who?" Sophia asked, surprised.
"The Dark Church!"
