Chapter 736: Chapter 293 Dark Goddess: Giving You a Task
Projection Space.
A world of chaos and darkness.
Huge tentacles waved in the air, covered with suckers, hooks, and sharp teeth, their surfaces smeared with nauseating mucus, spewing out highly corrosive acid.
On the ground, all sorts of strange and bizarre creatures roamed, sharing some bodily features with Torgoguryr, but along the evolutionary path, they did not fit the appearance of the faithful.
They were merely similar offshoots, a form of erroneous evolution.
These monsters were the creations of Torgoguryr, born from the diversity of life, as Torgoguryr pondered its own faith. It categorized the knowledge it possessed, crafted a massive number of haphazard creations, and by observing their changes, it aimed to draw closer to the Ancient God of its devotion.
This was a world brimming with evolution!
For the three Knights, this world was far from friendly, endless whispers gave birth to endless monsters, which would revive anew even if slain, undeterred by the indestructibility of information.
The fact that the minions of the Ancient Gods could instantly overrun the God-chosen Continent suggested the terror of the Ancient Gods themselves.
Located in the Projection Space, the three Knights could not exert their full power, the chaotic information obstructed their communication with the outside world, forcing them to fight solely with their own strength.
Take the Dark Knight for instance, surrounded by darkness, his power was limitless, Twilight Deadlock would transform infinite darkness into boundless energy.
The three Knights were now in an extremely awkward predicament.
Cannon fodder-level monsters couldn’t harm them; thousands, even ten thousands, were useless against them—they didn’t require the trio to go all out, any one of them could easily handle the situation with a casual effort.
Like Leo, he could still conjure many small suns, kindling whichever mushrooms he fancied.
Their target was Torgoguryr, but the cannon fodder blocked their path. Meanwhile, Torgoguryr, retreating step by step, charged backward, aiming to lead the trio out of the Projection Space, deep into the territory of the Ancient God’s minions.
This was quite troublesome.
The trio knew, in the Projection Space, they could defeat and sever Torgoguryr’s tentacles or even its head, but once they ventured into the territory of the Ancient God’s minions, it was not clear who would be the prey and who would be the predator.
"Torgoguryr is retreating, this is good, drive it out of the Projection Space, completely sever its connection with the Icebound Continent, and it will be unable to descend upon the world of men," Dreyne said.
At that moment, the Moonlight Knight rode her dragon steed, her cheeks traced with holy silver patterns, elevating her ice maiden demeanor to its pinnacle.
Behind her, four massive arms condensed from moonlight drew bowstrings, unleashing a barrage of energy arrows, hitting all targets without fail, dissecting all monsters in their path instantaneously.
"Torgoguryr won’t retreat just like that, it has always wanted to descend upon the world of men, don’t venture deeper, it’s luring us," Mula sensibly advised.
What if they truly reached the territory of the Ancient God’s minions and looked up to find the Ancient God, then what?
Torgoguryr, agile as wind, could go wherever it pleased. Behind them lay the Icebound Continent, and their options were limited.
The three Knights puzzled over the sudden clarity of Torgoguryr, which had been furiously enraged moments ago—why had it suddenly become mindful of its actions?
You are a minion of the Ancient God, rush forward! Does such timid reticence honor your faith, honor the mighty power you wield to raze heavens and earth?
The trio halted at the fissure between the Projection Space and the territory of the minions, watching the endless monsters and Torgoguryr, who occasionally peeked out from the darkness to blink an eye, and all chose to stop in their tracks.
"Dreyne, you cover us,"
Mula made a snap decision: "Leo, the two of us will sever the Projection Space, ensuring it can never descend upon the world of men."
Once the Projection Space is severed, the three of them will lose their connection to the territory of the minions, and likewise, lose their chance to return to the Icebound Continent, adrift in the void, cast into an unknown corner.
Leo didn’t overthink it, he didn’t even ponder the matter. Dreyne did think about it and came to a conclusion: they could pass the time playing cards.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
White dragons appeared instantaneously all over the battlefield, mobile fortresses unleashing their firepower, single-handedly setting up a no-man’s land, holding down miles of the front line.
Explosions of white light burst forth densely, myriad pieces of data converging, giving birth to more monsters.
As quickly as they were born, they died even faster.
Dreyne was firing too effectively, the energy within her seeming infinite. With White Night Purity Words in hand, she single-handedly suppressed Torgoguryr’s spawn rate.
Leo held Dawn Admonition, as Golden War Spear unfolded a dazzling radiance.
In the midst of unending chaos and darkness, a brilliant light tore through the sky, concentrating into an immense golden war spear.
Then, a Giant in golden armor rose from the ground, wielding the spear and emitting an intense glow too blinding to look directly at, its aura so mighty it seemed capable of apocalyptic destruction.
With an ear-shattering roar, the Giant thrust the spear down, and where the spearhead passed, space itself was torn apart in an instant, revealing an abyssal rift.
The rift swallowed everything around it, dragging the Projection Space towards the territory of the Ancient God’s minions as it spread wider.
The Giant didn’t stop there; it continued to slash forward, tearing the rift wider and wider until the entire Projection Space was split by this chasm.
After everything was done, the golden Giant vanished. Leo, panting heavily, stood his ground and explained, "Playing cards every day and every night, I haven’t been exercising much lately, suddenly exerting so much effort was a bit overwhelming..."
"Starting today, I’ll quit drinking!"
