Chapter 724: Chapter 290: Changing Home Tactics!
"""
"Failed again, advancing is truly hard."
In the Death Sealing Ground, Wayne sat cross-legged by the swamp, his face showing helplessness as he opened his eyes.
He had seen the Golden Triangle and maintained it for fifteen minutes before it degenerated into a Silver Cross, yet it stubbornly persisted.
Stability is a good thing, but too much stability might not be.
By the swamp’s edge, Anastasia stood quietly, draped in a Black Robe. With her as the center, a thin veil of Death Essence crept and spread, assuming the role of the Death Knight to defend the Sealed Land.
Upon close inspection, one would notice that Anastasia deliberately avoided Wayne; there wasn’t a trace of Death Essence around him.
Anastasia, who could be summoned and dismissed at will, had received the task to assist Wayne and had never considered upstaging him; she worked tirelessly, which made Wayne grow fonder of her.
This indeed was the quality that a qualified kin should possess, unlike Saina, who was insubordinate, always making demands of her own faith.
"Mister Wayne, did you fail again?"
"Achieved brief success."
Wayne shook his head in regret, recalling the stable fifteen minutes of the Golden Triangle; The Book of Greed seemed to have undergone some change.
In his understanding, it could be called evolution, but from the perspective of The Book of Greed, it must be a quantitative change that had led to a qualitative transformation.
Intuition told Wayne, this was significant.
Humming———
The sound of space trembling came, the space of the Death Sealing Ground was being affected, and ancient whispers emanated from within the space, whispering into the ears of the listeners.
It was happening again.
Wayne squinted slightly, knowing that this was a normal occurrence when the three God-chosen Knights assaulted the fissure in the Projection Space.
The might of an Ancient God was unquestionable, and the power of the Ancient God’s Kin equally fearsome. Even from a world away, that whisper was still crystal clear, as though Torgoguryr himself were nearby.
Most of the Dark Mages in the camp had left, and the Dark Elves who stayed were formidable, skilled in seals, willing to give their lives for upkeeping The Sealed Land.
Veronica and Hefei also stayed behind. With their respective fiancé/husband located in the Death/Dark Sealing Land, they found no reason to leave.
Veronica, who had entered the Gate of Truth, possessed a certain resistance to the dissonant whispers; Hefei, being a Golden Mage, had the right to refuse listening.
At Wayne’s request, they moved to the outskirts of the camp, ready to leave at any moment through the Teleportation Array.
When it comes to physical constitution, one person’s capabilities are far different from another’s; others feel that the whispering voice is full of magic, irresistibly drawing their agreement.
Wayne just found it noisy, and besides, he disagreed with Torgoguryr’s description of life, many times barely restraining himself from snatching the microphone to engage in a debate.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible!
All three God-chosen Knights were present; to take the microphone now would certainly lead to him being mistaken for a spy sent by an Ancient God.
...
Elsewhere.
Dark Sealing Land.
The Dark Knight held Twilight Deadlock with the blade pointing to the ground, while his black cape billowed without wind.
Behind him, a Black Dragon folded its wings, bowing its head, from its flared nostrils wafted a trace of dark flame.
Extremely cool looking, clearly a big shot.
Austin had suffered greatly in these days, taking hits for the sake of his wife and child, with gratifying progress and rapid advancement, pondering that if Wayne dared to be overzealous in front of him again, a mere wave of his hand could easily subdue him.
It’s like a father disciplining his son, managing however he sees fit.
Looking forward to it.JPG
All these are future concerns; should they fail to uphold The Sealed Land, all talk is in vain.
Austin’s task was the same as Wayne’s: to defend the rear, clearing worries for the Nature, Sun, and Moonlight Knights as they pressed forward without hindrance.
For this mission, the three knights charged into battle, while Austin, Megan, Wayne, and Anastasia were to secure the rearguard.
Originally, Wayne’s personal mount, Saina, along with backup mounts Hefei and Veronica, were included, but a household entirely wiped out seemed too cruel; Mula had refused, deeming defense sufficient, as frontal charge wasn’t required, Anastasia’s assistance was enough.
Mula had given Anastasia an additional task: while assisting Wayne, she was to keep an eye on him, preventing the impetuous youth from inadvertently wasting his life away.
At that moment, the three knights were conversing; Mula was the first to breach the Projection Space, calling for the others to join swiftly.
Green, Gold, and White lights reached the edge of the fissure, acknowledging each other with a nod and stepping out.
In the strictest sense, the land of the Ancient God’s Kin was not located in the Icebound Continent; it was merely the effect of the Projection Space that overlapped two spaces, causing them to touch.
For ordinary people, the overlapped spaces were like two parallel lines that could never intersect.
For the God-chosen Knights, for Torgoguryr, they both had the mighty power to warp parallel lines; sometimes, their vision could pierce through space and even glimpse the vague shadows of each other.
The three knights stepped forward to the position of the fissure, which no longer belonged to the God-chosen Continent but was a void between worlds, a corner of the Star Realm Cosmos stretching boundlessly.
Behind was the God-chosen Continent, ahead the Projection Space of the Ancient God’s Kin; the trio halted, taking a moment to rest.
"White Shadow!"
The Moonlight Knight, Dreyne, called with a wave of his hand, and a swift white figure slowly materialized.
Five meters in length, with wings on its back, its body covered with fine white scales, it was a sleek, winged drake known for its incredible speed.
A type of drake with Dragon Blood within, not an evolutionary branch, but rather a bloodline offshoot.
There are many bloodline offshoots of the Giant Dragon, and any one dragon has numerous descendants, ceaselessly producing offspring, to the point where even the dragons themselves are unclear on how many branches reside within their Dragon Kingdom.
