Chapter 720: Chapter 289: The Final Battle Begins
The cabin, the basement.
Wayne sat cross-legged, repeatedly striking the silver cross within his body, shattering the notion of ’God’ into tiny particles, then merging them into the emptiness, into me.
God is belief, the choice of the Silver Stage, determining the direction of the future.
Serious mages have a single belief. The ones who aren’t, like the Liberty Mages, may have more than one belief but, due to their innate talent and resource environment, their beliefs aren’t complex.
Many Liberty Mages at the Silver Stage adopt a single belief and only start to unleash themselves during the Golden Stage, firmly believing that worshiping multiple gods won’t weigh them down, and that knowing multiple foreign languages opens many doors.
After all, it doesn’t cost money, and believing a bit more can’t be wrong.
Wayne, even among the non-serious Liberty Mages, is an exceptional being, with Nature, Sunlight, Moonlight, Darkness, Death, cramming five, all at the knowledge level of a God-chosen Knight.
Then there’s Heaven and Hell, which goes to show just how robust his ’God’ is.
He must have taken the wild path, knowing God-chosen Knights, and maintaining good relations with them; otherwise, his advancement would have been incredibly difficult.
An hour later, Wayne stopped his cultivation, panting with effort. Today’s attempt at progression had still not succeeded.
A good start should have a good ending, but the process is quite convoluted. He estimated the speed of the ’God’ disintegrating was increasing, he had just caught a glimpse of the beginning of the Golden Triangle. If things go well, without sleep, he could make it in three to five days.
A fair arm reached out, taking the hem of a sleeve to wipe the sweat from Wayne’s forehead, a very beautiful hand, flawless.
Feeling the pressure on his back, Wayne’s eyes twitched as he spoke bluntly, "Saina, you should be clear, this isn’t love."
"Indeed, it’s worship and desire, far more devout than love," she replied.
Saina embraced Wayne from behind, their temples rubbing together, her breath quickening from just a hug.
So fragrant! x2
Little Wayne was getting restless, but Wayne chose to reject it, standing up: "Just hold on a little longer, once we’re back in Lundan I’ll help you rid yourself of this trouble."
Saina’s brows furrowed tightly, "Master, I don’t ask for much, I don’t even want your love!"
Please, spare me the details.
Wayne turned his head, saw Saina’s tear-stained face, and realized with a heavy heart that she was genuinely distressed.
He sighed, raising his hands, "I’ll give you a two-minute hug, but let me be clear: don’t blame me for taking advantage if you return to yourself later."
Without a word, Saina, given permission, dived into Wayne’s arms, using hands and feet to cling to him, as if she wanted to crush herself into him totally.
She didn’t break apart but melted instead.
With Wayne’s help, Saina retained her human form, but as they hugged she began to get restless.
Desire is like that, growing step by step, seeking more when one gets something.
Saina wasn’t satisfied with a mere hug; she sought something even more intimate.
Wayne, his face lined with dismay, suddenly thought of Velili’s father, Cushin, contemplating if, just if, one day Cushin would forsake wife and daughter just for his embrace?
Mommy, fitness addicts indeed take it too far!
The cabin’s living room, Veronica stood watchful of the basement, her imagination running wild with scenarios.
Her fiancé deeply entrenched in hard cultivation, his mind so submerged he couldn’t sense the outside world, the Old Witch seeing this, crushed the roses beneath her with a sinister smile, tossing a white cloth over her fiancé’s face and pounced on him.
Thud!
"What are you thinking about, looking as if you’re about to kill someone?" Hefei tapped Veronica on the head with a backhand chop, guessing what her daughter was contemplating, and comfortingly said, "It’s fine, although the teacher is... well... but she’s so... anyway, she wouldn’t do anything inappropriate now."
"This is how you comfort me?"
"Uh, I did my best." Hefei replied.
The two blonde heads glared at each other. The more Veronica looked, the angrier she became. It was this woman, who found an unashamed teacher, that made her live in fear and trepidation every day.
Veronica scoffed, "Just yesterday, I saw the Dark Knight and the Black Dragon practicing their fusion skills in the little woods, first on top, then below, returning home leaning on each other, who knows what they did!"
What way is this to talk to your future mother-in-law?
Believe it or not, I’ll have my son break it off with you!
Hefei snorted in response and grasped Veronica’s face, kneading it hard, "What the Dark Knight and Black Dragon do is none of my business, but the High Priest of the Naturalism Church and the Dark Knight are mortal enemies. Once we return to Lundan, I’ll kill him."
"Hmph!"
"Ha!"
Bang bang bang!
The door knocked. The two blonde heads furrowed simultaneously. Hefei gestured, and Veronica walked to the door full of resentment.
After all, it’s her fiancé’s mother; the façade must be maintained before marriage.
Once they’re married, she’ll pour footwashing water into her cup!
Veronica opened the door and courteously let the visitor in: "Holy Maiden, you’ve come to visit Saina again?"
Over the last half a month, Anastasia visited Saina every few days, and although they said it was a visit, it felt more like she came for amusement.
Indeed, she left content every time.
Saina never hid her feelings for Wayne, even in front of an old friend and rival. Whenever Anastasia taunted her, Saina would simply laugh enchantingly.
Ah, right, right, right, you’re right, I’m just that shameless woman.
Today Anastasia had come again, and Veronica suspected it was to enjoy the chaos.
What else could it be? A Magic Doll couldn’t possibly be coming over to scrounge for food.
