Chapter 607: Chapter 256: I am the Superman
"Saina, what are you doing? Why are you teasing Veronica?"
"Assisting."
Really? Are you that kind-hearted?
Wayne sneered disdainfully, "Let me guess, you’ve been teaching Veronica recently, treating her like Teacher Hefei, and meanwhile, you see me as Austin, trying to make Veronica snap out of it, right?"
"You’re overthinking it."
"Fine, I’m overthinking it."
Wayne lifted his arm, dispelled his gauntlet, wrapped his hand around Saina’s slender waist, and spread his fingers, enveloping her roundness below.
Saina hastily took two steps back, bowed her head to suppress her panting, not wanting Wayne to see her embarrassment.
"What’s the matter, why are you backing away? What happened to assisting?"
Wayne glanced at Saina, "Your thoughts hold no secrets from me; I know what you’re thinking. Considering you’re doing this for Veronica’s sake, I won’t scold you this time."
Saina took a deep breath, pushed down the romantic desires in her heart, and obediently followed behind Wayne.
Like Veronica, she couldn’t understand, was the Goddess blind or what?
Snap!
An arm fell to the ground.
Saina, accustomed to this, grew a new arm. In recent times, she had researched regeneration of both body and mind and could only say that aside from being disgusting, it was all quite good.
Once accustomed, the eerie regeneration seemed aesthetically pleasing, ancient and indescribable, a will and life form above all.
The more Saina researched herself, the more obsessed she became with her faith, longing to gain more knowledge from Wayne.
"What’s with the arm falling off again? Were you badmouthing me?"
Wayne didn’t mind it as he secretly encouraged Saina to continue struggling, and then said, "Continue to provoke Veronica; I approve of this behavior, it’s not considered an offense to me."
Saina was stunned for a moment.
"You’re right, Veronica is Teacher Hefei, I am Austin, their taste in men is not that great."
Wayne admitted that he was a scumbag, "I can’t possibly tell Veronica the truth, but you’re different, telling the truth isn’t an offense."
Saina still didn’t understand.
Wayne directly conveyed his thoughts through telepathy, indicating he wanted to be a scumbag plain and clear, with Saina as an outsider who could make Veronica realize the truth.
Why don’t you just tell her directly, instead of making me stick my nose in it!
Saina suddenly frowned, and after being so forthright, she actually didn’t want to do it anymore.
The reason was simple, the more responsibilities she bore on her shoulders, the greater the sin, the more obvious the reason to abandon her.
She didn’t want to be abandoned!
Just like the God-chosen Knight assessment earlier, if Wayne’s identity were exposed, she would surely be thrown out as cannon fodder.
Saina knew Wayne could hear her thoughts; seeing that Wayne remained silent, she felt aggrieved and braved it out, "My thoughts and body are devoted to you. I don’t want to become dispensable. I yearn to always be by your side."
"Who am I?"
"Mas...Master..."
Saina couldn’t say it, she hadn’t adjusted yet; she still wanted to be Hefei.
"Saina, that’s not how you should be a follower. The loyalty you’ve shown is not absolute; you should learn to move on your own, not just move when I tell you to. If loyalty is not absolute, then it is absolutely not loyalty. Why should I value you?"
Wayne spoke bluntly, "You can’t become my teacher, and I don’t hold much hope for you. However, it’s hard to say what the future holds; perhaps one day you’ll adjust!"
The future isn’t looking good.
Saina’s face soured; she had an exceptional thirst for faith, and it wouldn’t take long before she would lose her mind. At that point, she couldn’t imagine what she’d be like; it certainly wouldn’t be pretty.
"Then I’ll give you a chance!"
Wayne pointed at Saina’s forehead and slowly said, "I allow you to retain your self because of Teacher Hefei, remember to be grateful to her."
His fingertip touched her forehead, a strange wave of thoughts spread in Saina’s mind, granting her freedom. Although she still longed for faith, it wasn’t as intense as before.
Her body wasn’t as sensitive anymore, no longer uncontrollably reacting from close contact with faith.
Saina felt light, quickening her pace, and bitingly said, "Master, your follower Saina Kaslana is thankful for the new life you have granted me. My remaining life will be dedicated to dancing for you."
"That sounds weird; just call me by my name!"
Wayne refused the title of master, it was too strange, and felt that hearing it a few more times might provoke strange ideas about Saina.
Reaching the plaza before the great hall, Wayne explained Mula’s situation, "According to Mr. Mula, he’s run into trouble in the Icebound Continent. Any situation that could vex a God-chosen Knight can’t be simple. When the time comes, you’ll be my mount."
Saina: "..."
Just because she could transform into a Giant Dragon didn’t mean she was one. Wouldn’t riding her be a bit inappropriate?
Saina had a tiny struggle with herself but then accepted Wayne’s arrangement. A follower is the cattle and horse of faith; a mount was just another term, essentially the same.
"You do know how to comfort yourself!" Wayne interjected.
Saina turned away, pretending not to hear. If he was going to ride, then just do it; she had finally found a reason, why all the fuss?
Upon reflection, she realized her body hadn’t collapsed and acknowledged that Wayne had lifted some of the constraints.
Frankly, Saina admired this; if their roles were reversed, she knew she wouldn’t be so generous, only inventing tortures...
No, that’s a bad train of thought!
"Ah, those ideas aren’t bad; I’ll take them. We’ll play with them slowly when we have a chance."
Wayne patted Saina’s shoulder and said to the pale-faced follower, "You have a great imagination, keep it up. Anything you can think of, I’ll generously satisfy."
