Chapter 603: Chapter 254 Naturalist Knight Mula_3

As her voice trailed off, Saina regained control of her body and hurriedly stood up to sit on the sofa across from her.

Half an hour later, Veronica brought over the eggs sentenced to death and fed them to the trash can in front of Saina, one willing to deceive and the other willing to be deceived, much to Saina’s growing annoyance.

There was no helping it, Veronica and Wayne were carbon copies of Hefei and Austin from twenty years ago, nearly identical in every way.

Every time Saina thought about that defeat, she detested Lundan like a garbage dump, feeling terrible just thinking about it, let alone witnessing it firsthand, almost causing her nose to be bent out of shape.

"Teacher Saina, don’t space out, Veronica’s cooking is really delicious, you should try some too," Wayne offered kindly, no need to be polite, just make yourself at home.

Saina chose to refuse, but her limbs acted on their own, picking up the spoon to taste.

Under Veronica’s dissatisfied gaze, guest Saina unawarely consumed most of the lunch specially prepared for the trash can.

After the meal, Saina wiped her mouth with a napkin, commenting that the skill was passable, not as hard to swallow as she had imagined.

Saina’s own cooking skills were mediocre, having tasted Hefei’s pastries in her early years, she held little hope for the culinary talents of those with Dragon Blood, but had to admit that Veronica’s cooking skills exceeded her expectations.

At the very least, much better than Hefei’s.

Putting down the napkin, she looked across at the pining gazes of the two and felt a wave of irritation, "Veronica, come with me to the study, starting from today, I will officially teach you Dragon Language."

As she spoke, she waved her hand and several thick books on Magic landed on the table.

After three hours of lessons, Saina, before leaving, assigned a massive amount of homework, enough to keep Veronica busy until midnight, leaving no time for romance with Wayne.

I might not be able to deal with Wayne, but I can certainly manage you!

Off to do your homework!

Although Saina’s actions were driven by personal motives, clearly aiming to deal with Veronica, she was very strict and diligent in her teaching.

She would not tolerate any mistakes from her students, a true strict educator.

Even Wayne felt the urge to join the lessons.

That night, Veronica did her homework until one in the morning, and upon returning to the bedroom, she found Wayne already washed and lying in bed.

"Jerk, who allowed you to sleep here? Get out, you’ve dirtied the bed!"

Veronica, her face red, tried to expel him, but was no match for Wayne’s thick skin. After much hesitation, she reluctantly agreed to share half of the bed.

At lights out, there were two separate blankets and a pillow placed in the middle as a barrier, a defense line as solid as a fortress. However, by the time they woke up the next day, the defensive line had vanished, and they both lay under one blanket.

It smelled so good! x2

Time circled around to May.

The selection of the Holy Maiden was paused for an undisclosed reason for a week and then accelerated slightly upon resuming, expected to conclude with the selection of the true Holy Maiden in June if there were no surprises.

In other words, the selection process was nearing its end.

According to the information provided by Saina, the majority of the candidates had already been eliminated. The mere escorts, that is, the male candidates who constantly claimed they wanted to become the Saint Heir, were all expelled from the assessment.

The remaining Holy Maiden candidates were primarily from the Church headquarters; Dusa, whom Wayne knew, was still holding on. Without her brother’s cover, she showed considerable talent and won the covert support of several higher-ups in The Church.

Saina was among them.

The so-called selection of the Holy Maiden had developed into a compromise of power in the Church headquarters every twenty years; the Holy Maiden herself held no decisive power, but rather the backers behind her were the essence.

During this time, Saina came to the villa every day to tutor Veronica. Due to the previous lesson, she kept a certain distance from Wayne and no longer fell for the lure of longing gazes.

On the 8th, Saina hurried into the bedroom, only to retreat at the sound of Veronica’s scream.

She nearly got hit by a pillow as she closed the door.

She stood at the door with a scowl, muttering to herself that it was too much, especially Veronica, who would only harm herself by learning everything.

Why bother being so studious, she deserved to be deceived!

"Teacher Saina, please knock next time, respect others’ privacy!"

Wayne walked out of the bedroom, holding up his pants and complaining while shooting a glance at Saina.

Well done, you assisted this time.

Saina didn’t understand what Wayne meant. No matter how she looked at it, she seemed to have disrupted a good thing. Shaking her head to dispel her thoughts, she spoke directly, "Naturalist Knight Mula has already arrived at the Church headquarters, Vice Commander Gavin is waiting for you, you..."

"It would be best to take a bath first, then go over."

"Of course."

Wayne’s body writhed, shedding old skin for new, and he was washed in just three seconds.

Saina remained silent, it was still as revolting, but she seemed to have become accustomed to it.

"Where is Mr. Mula, at the Naturalist Knights Order?"

"No, he’s at Vice Commander Gavin’s house. He didn’t want to enter the Church headquarters; apart from the Pope and the Great Prophet, no one else knows..." Saina briefly explained, opening a portal and taking Wayne away from the villa.

...

Gavin’s house was situated between the mountains. He usually lived in the dormitory of the Knight Order at the Church, in a communal living situation. He seldom went home, and with his personal desires not being grand, he never pursued a life of luxury. The wooden structure of his house was utterly ordinary, with no expensive or decent furniture to be found.

From the perspective of a successful person, Gavin was undoubtedly a failure. After so many years, he hadn’t managed to save any wealth.

Wayne admired him for that, a breath of fresh air in the materialistic Church headquarters, redeeming some of the Church’s tarnished reputation.

In front of the fence on Gavin’s front lawn, Wayne saw three figures.

Gavin, with his usual smile, was desperately making eye signals, trying to explain something. The Great Prophet Tubie, and a middle-aged man in a white robe with a refined and modest demeanor.

The Pope.

Ludwig.

Ludwig had an excellent appearance, with a smile that was very approachable. Noticing Wayne looking at him curiously, he smiled and nodded.

Tranquil and restrained, his behavior appropriate and with a steady, easygoing charm, his gentle smile was very comforting, everything so fitting and natural, making it easy for people to like him.

Therefore, he was a bastard!

Wayne respectfully replied, addressing him as Your Holiness, very politely.

At the same time, Wayne also saw the true face of the Great Prophet Tubie, with a mandrill at his side. Clothed in white, with white hair and eyebrows, an old yet sparkling face that fit the stereotype of a Legendary Mage.

Tubie had something urgent he wanted to say to Wayne, but Saina didn’t give him the chance, raising her hand to protect Wayne behind her.

"Candidate Wayne, we meet again."

"Vice Commander Gavin, I am honored to listen to your teachings once more."

In a contest of inadequacy, Gavin could be considered the only saint present. Wayne’s affection for him was at its peak, his disrespectful tongue softened into respectful speech.

"Work hard. Mr. Mula is waiting for you inside the house. If it doesn’t work out, don’t be disappointed. I keep my initial offer open, to introduce you to join the Naturalist Knights Order." Gavin patted Wayne’s shoulder and stepped aside to clear the path to the cabin, taking a swig from his flask.

Under Saina’s conflicted gaze, Wayne stepped up to the cabin, knocked gently, and entered after receiving a response.

Pope Ludwig instinctively stepped forward, his demeanor nonchalant, his hand clenched tightly within his sleeve.

Goddess above, please don’t let him succeed!
