Chapter 544: Chapter 235 My Sword Has Never Been Dull

The white expanse lay beyond the clouds, with towering columns standing tall, and gates of heaven erected in all directions.

This was Celeste’s Life Force Field, his realm. The Legendary Mage had crafted it in the image of heaven, signifying his unwavering faith.

Whether his devotion was genuine was debatable, but he excelled in appearances, earning even the angels’ praise for his attention to detail.

Two figures crossed paths in the cloud realms, with an eight-legged spider fleeing in haste and the Death Knight in relentless pursuit.

Juliet had devoured the energy of an Elemental Devil, merging it with her own spirit, further enhancing her power to astonishing levels.

Unfortunately, as a Familiar, her power came from the gifts of her faith-driven master. She could stack power endlessly but could not break free from her shackles to ascend to a higher realm.

There are hierarchies among Familiars.

Some start weak, growing stronger through training until they stand shoulder to shoulder with their master;

Others are born with tremendous power, bound by no realms, forever tools of their master, powerful as long as their master is, and vice versa.

The Hell’s murky winds blow straightforward, betrayal is common, and loyalty is a joke.

Devils seldom recruit Familiars with potential; mostly, Familiars are crafted dependents, created by the devils themselves.

The seven Demon Kings are exceptions.

The strong fear no challenge, and are not distressed by betrayal.

Their Familiars have room to evolve. Power matches the fist, and ambition grows with strength, yearning for corresponding authority. Once permitted by the Demon King, they can establish their own domains, leaving their master’s territory to seize land from other devils.

Juliet’s master was once a Familiar of the Lord of Lust, not a mass-produced Succubus, but a being with its own evolutionary path.

Juliet, tasked by her master, could set aside the Death Knight for the moment; the priority was Windsor.

Windsor is one of the few states on the God-chosen Continent that has broken free from the control of the Heavenly Father’s Court. As a powerful nation, Windsor is highly valuable. If it could be turned into a bastion of faith, Hell itself could be abandoned.

Therefore, Juliet did not seek out the Death Knight immediately.

Similarly, Guyin had received a mission like hers, but bad luck had him caught by a mysterious person, missing out on the follow-up plans and becoming Windsor’s 007.

Exhausted.

Juliet thought by not seeking out the Death Knight, she could avoid this harbinger of death, yet Death came uninvited at the most crucial moment of her plan.

He slaughtered all her offspring in one fell swoop.

The death of Celeste’s offspring mattered little, but Edward’s were precious, carrying Divine Blood.

Now, all her efforts over a month were for naught, not one left.

If she had known, she would have joined forces with the other Familiars to kill the Death Knight long ago.

Juliet deeply regretted it, facing the pervasive Death Essence, wielding surges of energy to contend with it.

The might of the Goddess of Death was unquestionable, and the forces in the world that could stand against death were few and far between. Juliet’s master was no exception; like the Blood Monarch, their Faith Magic could not affect a skeletal frame.

The continual clash of energies caused Juliet’s power to rapidly wane. In Celeste’s world, she had to remain vigilant against possible stealth attacks from the Legendary Mage.

Juliet exerted all she had, escalating her alluring, wicked charm to the extreme. Unable to destroy the Death Knight’s body, she aimed to seduce and dismantle his will.

To be fair, her charm was immense, more beautiful and more sinister than the earthly vessels of the Lord of Lust, or she wouldn’t have caught Celeste off guard and successfully stolen the Legendary Mage’s blood.

Wayne was different, draped in the mantle of the Death Knight, using only his mind to think, so calm it bordered on emotionless.

His mind was empty, without a trickle of brain fluid, oblivious to beauty.

Clutching Shadowmare, his eyes a dancing white flame, flanked by Death Essence, every attack forced Juliet to deplete significant energy to counter.

Swift sword flashes, encroaching mists of death, occasionally mingled with dreary and dreadful laughter.

Celeste stood at the gates of heaven, observing the Death Knight’s battle prowess, marveling at the formidable laws he commanded.

He did not join the fray directly, choosing no sides, simply offering a battlefield for the Death Knight and Juliet to duel.

His mind still echoed with the words from before—"Tell the Queen, she has to pay more tonight."

The Queen had covertly struck a deal with the Death Knight!

Celeste’s expression shifted, tempted to keep the Death Knight within his own realm, yet fearing the solid bone might choke him. After much deliberation, he invoked his status as a Liberty Mage of the Magic Department.

He, Celeste, swore fealty unto death to the Queen, certainly not the rumored undercover agent of the Heavenly Father’s Court.

Celeste’s eyes glowed, the gates of heaven in all directions radiating majestic auras. One after another, Winged Angels wielding holy spears flew out, unleashing torrents of Holy Light, aiding the Death Knight in vanquishing the Hell Devil.

The Life Force Field was the exclusive ability of a Legendary Mage, allowing the creation of a world wholly their own. In it, they were omnipotent, able to manipulate every aspect of their adversary.

Celeste had twisted Juliet’s perception, presenting her with endless legions of angels. During the recent fight, he had resorted to this tactic because Juliet’s immense energy rendered undiscriminating barrages ineffective.

Now, as Juliet’s strength plummeted amid her battle with Death, unable to sustain output at high intensity and with her senses in disarray, she was battered by the shower of holy spears falling like arrows.
