Chapter 537: Chapter 232 Royal Family Infighting_3
"Queen..."
"I asked already, the Queen might know, or she might not."
Wayne blinked, excitedly said, "Assuming the Queen is aware, and she delegated authority to the Princess to investigate, the Princess might worry about the negative impact, considering it could become a stain on her ascension to the throne, which is why she didn’t go through the official process."
"Austin, we’ve been longing for stars and moons, and finally the Royal Family’s infighting has begun!"
Austin: (눈_눈)
Don’t lump me with you. He never looked forward to any chaos within the Royal Family.
Moreover, what kind of infighting is this? With Prince Edward as he is, as long as the Queen isn’t mad, the next King will still be the Queen.
It seemed to Austin, the heir chosen by his wife and daughter is rebellious to the core, totally disrespectful towards the Royal Family.
Although he wasn’t that respectful either, putting the family before the Royal Family, his acting skills were excellent, and he never thought about watching the Royal Family’s excitement.
"Don’t spout such nonsense in the future. With your acting skills, is it hard to pretend to be a loyal and patriotic knight?"
"There’s no outsider here..."
Wayne was in mid-sentence when he looked towards the soundproof barrier outside the study door, "Even Megan isn’t an outsider. We’re all family here, so tell me the truth, is Princess Elizabeth Veronica’s sister?"
"How could that be?"
"How could it not be? They look so alike, almost identical."
"What?"
"Same hairstyle."
"..."
Austin, not caring to entertain Wayne any longer, said bluntly, "Let your secretary investigate. Don’t get involved yourself. The waters are too deep. If you can avoid showing up, then don’t, and even if you do, you can’t use your current face."
"The Dark Knight?"
"..."
"Alright, I understand what you mean."
Wayne, feeling bored, shrugged and changed his approach, "Assuming the earlier speculation is correct, and the Princess has the Queen’s authorization to secretly investigate whether Prince Edward is colluding with the Devil, why would the Princess come to me? Aren’t you going to explain that?"
Wayne’s point was simple: why would the Princess come specifically to the Lando Family, unless she suspected who her real father might be?
"I’ll say it one last time, I have no connection with the Princess, or with the Queen!"
Austin glared fiercely at Wayne, resolutely not giving him a chance to spread rumors, then frowned, as he hadn’t figured out the answer to this question himself.
"Is it because you haven’t figured it out?"
"Yeah."
"Let me give you a hint, think about the Princess’s birthday, could it be that the protective measures that night were not well managed?"
Enough is enough!
Austin clenched an Ancient Silver Coin: "Enough, let your secretary investigate. You are not to get involved. The investigators from the Naturalism Church are still in Lundan, don’t get too close to the Royal Family."
Not getting the result he wanted, Wayne was greatly disappointed, but he didn’t care. He would soon tell his teacher the whole truth and clarify Austin’s father-daughter relationship with the Princess.
...
Wayne left the study, intending to go straight home, stumbled upon Monica who had lost her way, followed her all the way, and was caught red-handed by Veronica.
Because of the Crystal Ball, Veronica was in a great mood and rewarded Wayne with two hours.
The Dragon Blood Girl’s way of rewarding was quite unique, unlike ordinary girls. Her way of expressing intimacy was with her fists. She dragged Wayne to the underground base and practiced with him for two hours.
Afterward, a sweaty Wayne took a soak in the bathtub at the young lady’s villa.
By the time he left Lando Manor, it was already six in the evening. He made his way through the sewer to get close to Mona’s place, took out the key to open the door, and expertly made his way to the second floor.
Sounds were coming from the bathroom. Wayne glanced at his own scrumptious self and decided to take another dip.
"Boss."
Just as he was unfastening his buttons, Mona’s voice came from the side.
Wayne’s face took on a strange expression as he pointed to the bathroom. Who was inside, his good buddy Nancy?
"It’s Lady Juno."
"How did you end up bringing her home?" Wayne wondered aloud.
"Boss, it’s what you asked for. During the investigation, Lady Juno must be present." Mona blinked her eyes and gestured towards the room next door.
Wayne didn’t understand what she meant and followed her curiously, only to be greeted by a soundproof barrier as he entered the room.
"Ssss—"
"So, did you find out anything today?"
"The investigation is progressing quickly. Several minor targets have been ruled out, leaving only Prince Edward as our suspect." Mona’s speech was slurred.
"I knew it..."
Wayne frowned. The Princess, under the guise of investigating the Devil, had dragged the Lando Family into the mire. It wasn’t to say her intentions were entirely innocent, but they were definitely not benign.
This was bad. The Death Knight couldn’t earn any extra income, and the Dark Knight wouldn’t get his kickbacks.
Perhaps he could use his identity as the Death Knight to investigate.
"Mona, don’t be too zealous in the investigation against the prince. You’re an excellent detective. If you find any clues or suspicious places, leave them to Juno for deduction. If she’s a fool, then guide her in the reasoning," Wayne instructed crisply, signaling Mona not to take the forefront.
"Is she playing dumb?"
"Then just drag it out. She’s definitely more anxious than you."
"..."
Mona couldn’t agree. The investigation target involved the Devil, and she was really anxious.
"Don’t worry, I’ll undertake a separate investigation under a different identity. When you encounter me, remember to pretend you don’t know me," Wayne patted his head, "Investigate the prince’s movements. Where does he usually hang out lately, who is around him? Find a way to get Juno to supply intelligence, and hand it to me as soon as possible."
"Understood."

Meanwhile, Prince Edward, whom Wayne considered one of his own, was in a villa exchanging insights with a beauty.
The raven-haired beauty named Sander, a distant relation of Mayor Angelo, piqued Prince Edward’s interest. Dispensing with his pride, he finally won her over, elevating Sander onto his lofty branch.
Like right now, after their fervent embrace, Prince Edward, holding the beauty, felt he had reached the pinnacle of life.
He was utterly infatuated with Sander and had made it clear that if he wasn’t already engaged and his fiancée’s family wasn’t so formidable, he would have the guts to call off the engagement and take Sander as his queen.
Soon after, Edward also expressed his desire to give his true love a status and assured that his fiancée would understand his predicament.
To put it simply, to keep the home flag unmoved while the outside banners fluttered.
Edward promised Sander that the fiancée would turn a blind eye because it was a political marriage and their feelings were quite ordinary—this arrangement would be beneficial for everyone involved.
"Edward, my birthday is in a few days."
Sander said with a half-closed gaze, "I know you’ve prepared a surprise for me. I acknowledge the thought, and I’ll cherish this affection. There’s no need to make a fuss since... she would be angry if she knew. I don’t want to be the third wheel."
"Sander, I promise there’s no birthday banquet, no messy guests, just a small gathering with my friends. You should meet them," Edward reassured.
"Really?"
"Of course, would I lie to you!"
