Chapter 516: Chapter 225 Elf Transformation_3
Just like Austin and Megan, they are identical.
"You’re going to the Detective Agency at noon, and Jianhe County in the afternoon. If you’re fast enough, you’ll just make it to Miss Kris’s tutorial," Philark said with a slight smile, predicting that it wouldn’t be long before she became Mrs. Kris.
Then there’s Lady Philomena.
It was time to add some nutritious ingredients to the master’s meals.
Philark had done this job before when he was the head butler at Lando Manor, taking care of Austin. He was very professional, there would be no risk of the nourishment failing to take effect.
"That’s so troublesome..."
Wayne frowned, "Cancel the trip to the Detective Agency, Mona will handle my work."
"Master, Miss Mona would like you to visit the Detective Agency. A lady who calls herself Sola has made a substantial offer to meet with you," Philark described the woman’s appearance—dressed in black with black hair, very generous with her money.
"Sola..."
Wayne suddenly realized—it was Frank’s contact; she wanted to discuss business with him.
"What time did Mona set the meeting for?"
"Tea time in the afternoon."
"Alright, I’ll head to the Detective Agency now to take care of some recent work," Wayne said.
The scene shifted to Wayne sitting in the boss chair, signing paychecks.
Secretary Mona sat on the boss’s lap, asking curiously, "Boss, who is this Lady Sola?"
"Pretending you don’t know? Didn’t you eavesdrop last time?" Wayne said with a smile.
"I didn’t eavesdrop. I was worried about your personal safety and... accidentally overheard," Mona admitted tactfully, then ventured, "Boss, are you from Frank?"
"No, it’s more complicated. I’ve taken on a lot of undercover work; otherwise, do you think the Devil is that easy to deceive? If I said ’undercover’, could I succeed without practice?" Wayne patted his bottom, signaling Mona not to ask too much.
Mona suddenly understood, waved her hand to erect a soundproof barrier, and then crawled under the desk.
Wayne: (一`´一)
Did you misunderstand something?
With an employee eager to improve, Wayne felt bad about stopping her. He bore the injustice on his own, resigning himself to the belief that to suffer losses could sometimes be a blessing.
At tea time, he met with the black-clad Sola, officially confirmed the cooperation with the Farak Intelligence Bureau.
Calculating the time, the partnership wouldn’t last long. Once they gave the signal, his job would be over.

One must be happy about this.
Lady Sola was very satisfied with Wayne’s submission and immediately gave him two investigative tasks, both related to the Tulip Family. She hoped Wayne would come up with results quickly and then contact her by phone. She would come to collect the information, which would be transmitted back to the bureau headquarters via radio.
Wayne gave a noncommittal reply, then turned and took the tasks to Lando Manor.
Old Login, we have business!
Austin couldn’t be bothered to participate and picked up the phone to call Carmin Fleming. After a discussion, Wayne met Little Mustache at the Detective Agency.
Little Mustache: (ಠ灬ಠ)
Wayne:
"Isn’t this Brother Mustache? Long time no see, your mustache has grown more handsome," Wayne commented.
The former patron had become his patron once more. Wayne felt the world was very small but understood this was MI6’s way of protecting him; the fewer people knew his identity, the better.
Son of the beach!
Little Mustache muttered to himself, envying Wayne who looked every bit the part.
Both were spy agents, but Wayne’s background was far more affluent, like comparing heaven to mud, there was no comparison at all.
After a long pause, he spoke up, "I know I shouldn’t ask this, but I still want to say, Mister Lando has only one son, and he actually had the heart to throw you to Frank?"
"Uh..."
Wayne was at a loss for words for a moment and then said after another pause, "Is there a possibility that I got engaged to his daughter and that’s why I became the heir to the Lando Family?"
"Impossible!"
Little Mustache had also thought the same initially until he compared the photos of Austin and Wayne. They were definitely father and son, so much so that they could pass for brothers.
"Fine, if you say so. The feuds between the wealthy families are complex. There was a time when I wasn’t favored, and my stepmother wanted me dead, so I joined the military and the Intelligence Service." Wayne bluffed casually.
"That figures."
Little Mustache nodded repeatedly; it all made sense now. The bothersome illegitimate child, the cruel lady of the house, the patriarch caught in a difficult position—all matched his stereotypical image of a rich family.
Wayne rolled his eyes. The truth was never believed, but rumors flew high. Was there no way for the world to get better?
He placed the task commissioned by Lady Sola on the table and pushed it to Little Mustache, "I’m in a hurry. I won’t call the police today. Handle the task as soon as possible, but not too quickly. Decide on the timing as you see fit—I’m still waiting for a reply from the other side!"
Who is the client here, after all?
Little Mustache felt like he had been outsourced, but he didn’t say anything, took the task, and left. Once the Tulip Family’s intelligence was vetted, he would deliver it to the Detective Agency first thing.
After sending away Little Mustache, it was four in the afternoon. For the tutoring class with teacher Chris in the evening, Wayne drove non-stop to the Jianhe County base.
Clock in, start work.
In the library, Wayne didn’t see the literary girl Odelia; instead, she had left him a letter.
Bad news: The literary girl was gone, and she would no longer come to Jianhe County, taking with her the ancient book she hadn’t finished reading.
Good news: The first love moved to Lundan, leaving behind a string of phone numbers, and they could meet in Lundan soon.
"People leave, that’s fine, but taking my ancient book with her is clearly done on purpose to make me call and ask her out." Wayne curled his lips, facing the CPU of the literary girl, he decisively surrendered.
"Lundan again, how many times now? Isn’t it good to just stay in Jianhe County..."
Wayne complained, then picked up the phone on his desk and made plans to have afternoon tea with Odelia the next day.
There would be no afternoon tea, but reading together was possible.
...
Windsor Museum, the circular reading room.
Wayne saw Odelia, who was wearing a hat that concealed her delicate features, reading a book in the corner, without drawing any attention from those around.
Wayne plonked himself down next to Odelia, casually putting his arm around her shoulder like a couple.
Odelia rolled her eyes and brushed off the paw on her shoulder, warning, "Stop it. This isn’t Jianhe County. My identity is different here. If someone sees us, you might be invited for a tea session, and if it’s serious, it could cost you your life."
"What are you saying, your highness is a princess?"
Wayne’s forehead was crossed with a row of question marks; she didn’t look like the Queen, so she probably wasn’t from the same family.
Odelia smiled and had Wayne sit properly and accompany her in reading.
Behind them, a man browsing through the bookshelves slowly looked up, and under his gentleman’s hat, a flash of blond hair was visible.
Lina!
Watching Wayne with his messy private life, he sneered, mentally crossed Wayne off the list, and positioned himself carefully. The spy camera, hidden behind him, captured the figures and took photos.
The latest Prussian spy camera, ingeniously designed, had the lens hidden on the side. At first glance, the camera seemed to be in its case, but the lens was already aimed at the target.
The angle was perfect, the film captured the man and woman snuggled up together, looking very much like lovers.
Lina took a few more shots, with incontrovertible evidence. These photos alone could disqualify Wayne as the preferred candidate, creating room for the Goddess’s student to fill the vacant slot.
This was in the bag!
