Chapter 290: Chapter 150 Can’t Angels Be Wicked?_2

There aren’t any angels that go around touching nuns’ behinds, that’s more like something a Devil would do, you’re really overthinking it!

Wayne no longer said anything. If something is not, then it isn’t. Windsor is a society governed by law, at least on the surface, complete with due process. To speak without evidence is slander.

He took out the ledger and placed it in Mona’s hands, "The mayor is in the trunk, these are the evidence, have Kel take them back to Lundan and deal with them."

"Rest assured, I will ensure he completes the task." Mona solemnly accepted the ledger, her seriousness resembling that of a pilgrim.

Wayne rolled his eyes. Religion makes people stupid, and there was no saving the person in front of him now.

He turned and walked towards the sedan, noticing Mona following him like a little tail, and said impatiently, "Heretic, I’m going to the Jianhe County stronghold, as you can see, I’m a Pastor of the Naturalism Church. If I were truly an angel, I couldn’t possibly join the Naturalism Church."

"Rest assured, I won’t tell anyone."

Mona indicated she understood, as if Bruce was going undercover in the Thousand-Eyed Demon stronghold—angels doing the same in the Naturalism Church were preparing for a holy war.

"Fine, as long as you’re happy. Also, don’t use honorifics; we might not be close, but we can at least be considered friends. Just call me Boss," he said.

Wayne shut the car door, refusing to take Mona with him, and stepped on the accelerator, heading to Jianhe County to check in.

Mona watched the departing sedan, wanting to follow but fearing upsetting her master. After thinking it over, she decided to contact the Archbishop first.

Her mission was complete; she had found the Angel!

Because Bruce = Wayne = Angel, the title of ’master’ instantly became sacred, unlike the shame mixed with a thrill of breaking taboos that she felt before.

Leaving Eclipse Town, Wayne took a dove from his gentleman’s hat, making sure he wasn’t being followed, and took out a map to take a detour towards Silent Ridge.

"Time to tally up the gains!"

————

By noon, Wayne, carrying a suitcase, was passing through the barely trodden forests like a fugitive.

The Sealing Book had tossed into the wilderness through a portal, and it took him considerable effort to find the coordinate location, along with four rings. Luckily, he had been quick, otherwise they would have been lost again.

Wayne returned to the sedan and took out a set of clean clothes from the trunk to change into, ready to meet the task’s settlement with full vigor.

First were the four rings, storing a vast amount of elements internally, a culmination of the Headless Knight’s years of accumulation—releasing them all at once could fill three Parises.

Due to the impact on the Obelisk’s seal, a third of the Four Elements in the rings was spent; now, they could barely fill two Parises.

Still, that was an incredibly staggering number.

Far less than the Liberty Mage Alliance’s Grey Space, but with an overwhelming advantage far surpassing the elemental space of the Void Lord. It was like comparing heaven and earth, there was no comparability at all.

If Wayne had obtained the four rings during the Hexagram Stage, he would not have needed to take from the elemental space to complete the transformation of his Essence of Life. The Void Lord would not have died.

"Void Lord..."

Wayne silently repeated the name, along with Sebastian, Death Knight. One mustn’t forget their roots; these were the people significant in his life, whom he had to drag out and whip repeatedly.

Wayne tore open a rift in his chest, throwing the four rings into it, striking a deal with The Book of Greed for a seventy-thirty split, with him taking the larger share this time. He would split fifty-fifty with The Book of Greed once he recovered the Ancient Silver Coin.

Upon advancing to the silver cross, his Essence of Life expanded further. Coupled with the faith of the five Goddesses, the demand was not something four rings could satisfy; he had to get the Ancient Silver Coin back.

Wayne looked toward the Sealing Book, considering the four rings a small profit while the Obelisk Stone Tablet was the real jackpot. He trusted the Devil’s judgement; the tablet was undoubtedly a treasure.

"Sebastian had said once the stone tablet is separated from the Sealing Book, other tablet holders would see me..."

Wayne frowned. When he gazed into the abyss, the abyss was also gazing into him. Such an arrangement seemed rational, similar to raising poisonous creatures, where all tablets would ultimately converge in one place.

Believing himself to have some strength, without leveraging the Death Knight’s Vest System, not merging with The Book of Greed, with just his own capabilities, he could compete with a Golden Mage.

A Legendary Mage was likely a challenge; their realm was too high, possessing vast knowledge. With his capabilities, he might be contained before even coming face to face with the mage.

"Treasures belong to the virtuous. If someone has already found other tablets, they must be at least of a Legendary Mage’s caliber."

"I definitely can’t open the Sealing Book in Lundan..."

Wayne set a firm baseline for himself, carefully opening the Sealing Book and touching the Obelisk Stone Tablet, then shutting the book after five seconds.

He started the sedan without a word and drove at the fastest speed towards Jianhe County, a mix of elation and resignation on his face.

The elation came from that upon touching the tablet, his thoughts entered a world like Grey Space, where thunderstorms raged ceaselessly, with homeless old acquaintances waiting with longing faces for someone kind to take them in.

The Book of Greed: I’m coming!

In the five seconds, just as The Book of Greed reached out its hand, Wayne shut the door.

The resignation came from sensing another tablet holder nearby; if he wasn’t mistaken, this person was in Lundan.

Wayne was unclear who the holder was.

The vague feeling was more like the tablet was in a sealed state. The seal was not as effective as the one provided by the Devils in the Sealing Book; a wisp of aura leaked, allowing him to locate his adversary.

He could only determine that they were in Lundan; any more precision was beyond him.
