Chapter 249: Chapter 136: Self-Detonation_2

This enraged the Thousand-Eyed Demon beyond measure.

"Bat, join forces with me, and I’ll split half of my territory in Hell with you," he proposed.

The situation deteriorating, the Thousand-Eyed Demon decisively let go of his pride, no longer posing as a father figure, and humbly pleaded, "She is an Angel, and for us, Angels are the true Devils. Wake up—she’s using you. Once I’m dead, she will never spare you."

"We’ll talk when you’re dead!"

Wayne responded coldly, his five fingers drawing together, pulling out a fiery Elemental Greatsword formed of gathered Fire Element from the scorching airstream.

Among the four elements, his affinity with the Fire Element was the most potent. Combined with the authority of the Lava Territory, the energy of the Greatsword solidified into form. The compressed Fire Element was terrifyingly fearsome, with a temperature frighteningly intense.

The Demon Bat flapped its wings, its agile body moving swiftly through the air. The long sword of the Fire Element slashed at the Thousand-Eyed Demon, and in the instant it drew near, the twisted high temperatures caused the demon’s body to pop and crackle incessantly.

Desiccated husks of millipedes fell from the black robe, igniting mid-air, signaling that the Thousand-Eyed Demon’s flesh was being erased bit by bit.

The body the Thousand-Eyed Demon inhabited was only temporary, used just for descending to the human realm. He was to have a new shell due to various reasons, but had not had the chance to switch.

The potential of the physical body was limited, and the shortcoming of its Essence of Life lowered its limit, preventing him from fully harnessing his formidable thoughts power. For instance, the large hole in his chest, unable to heal after being obliterated by the Holy Light.

More and more millipede husks fell, and the Thousand-Eyed Demon’s physical form grew increasingly fragile. He swung his scimitar and clashed with the Magma Greatsword a few times, but his strength and speed quickly fell to a disadvantage.

He was bound to be defeated in this encounter!

Strike him when he’s down!

Wayne swung the Fire Elemental Greatsword even more rapidly, and as he grew more proficient with the operating manual of the territory, the temperature in the Lava Territory began to climb crazily.

The collapsing red mountains liquefied, merging into the magma. Beyond sight, the entire continent was slowly sinking, leaving nothing but the magma to exist.

Wayne relentlessly beat the fallen, and the Angel was no exception. Renata wielded the Holy Light to reform her spear, flapping her wings to the center of the battlefield. The spear’s tip burst into sparks like a fire tree’s silver flowers, enveloping the Thousand-Eyed Demon.

So everyone wants me dead, huh?

The Thousand-Eyed Demon’s eyes glowed red, and realizing his body couldn’t be saved, he decisively chose to self-destruct without hesitation.

Better to destroy himself than be destroyed by others!

True to being a devil who had crawled through Hell for many years, he was ruthlessly decisive, harsh on others, and even harsher on himself.

The holy spear pierced the Thousand-Eyed Demon’s face, its tip emerging from the back of his skull.

Almost simultaneously, the Fire Elemental Greatsword struck the demon’s shoulder. The burning edge cut through to his chest and abdomen before barely stopping.

The demon’s eyes still flickering ferociously, his body inflated like a balloon.

Renata hesitated for a moment, then abandoning her spear, delivered a kick to Wayne’s back and turned to flee, wings flapping.

Wayne did not instantly realize what had happened until a sneak attack hit him from behind, jolting him to awareness.

The kick was heavy and forceful, focused on the surprise element, and Wayne almost collided face-first with the Thousand-Eyed Demon. He didn’t turn to flee immediately; seizing the chance while the Angel wasn’t yet far away, a white tail whipped out like a serpent and coiled around Renata’s neck.

"Gah!"

Renata’s eyes rolled back as she lost momentum. She bit down on the tail.

Wayne seized the chance to accelerate, flapping his bat wings to distance himself from the Thousand-Eyed Demon. As he overtook Renata, he flailed his tail, smacking her face harshly.

To hell with you!

With continuous acceleration—mainly resulting from Renata’s consecutive decelerations—Wayne managed to get clear, shielding his allies behind him and darting hundreds of meters away in a blink.

"It’s too late to run now..."

"Hehehehe——"

The Thousand-Eyed Demon laughed loudly as his swollen body suddenly exploded. There was no earth-shattering boom, nor any light or heat effects. Swarms of millipedes dispersed like rain, a black flood obscuring the entire sky.

The sea of insects was everywhere, scattered in every nook and cranny. In the intensely hot Lava Territory, these millipedes quickly shriveled due to dehydration.

Wayne sensed the danger, flapping his wings to add speed, swirling the Fire Elemental Greatsword to raise huge waves of red, roasting the encroaching insects to ashes on all sides.

Meanwhile, Renata sensed something and locked onto the locations of Artley and Gunther, hurtling towards them at the greatest speed.

As mortals suffer when immortals clash, the two Golden Mages couldn’t join the battlefield of Angels and Demons. They distanced from the Flaming Sea and chose a relatively safe corner to stand their ground.

Then, they saw Renata approaching, along with the closely clustered millipedes.

The black millipedes emanated a white glow...

Boom!!!

A white sphere swelled, a colossal explosion sweeping across the sky, overturning the Flaming Sea, and raising tumultuous tidal waves.

Renata reached Artley and Gunther, enfolding them with her white wings. Just as the glare approached, she rapidly set up multiple protective Magic Arrays.

The blast wave twisted and churned, the hot wind crushing space as if it were tangible.

All Artley saw was a flash before his eyes, and in a daze, apart from a few sharp explosions, not another sound could be heard between heaven and earth.

The air burst, space vibrated intensely, and visible fissures spiderwebbed across, snaking through the scorching flow and dark canopy above, further destabilizing the space.

High in the sky, the heavenly vault looked down upon hundreds of Wind Dragons roaring furiously. The dragons writhed and tore through the air, bellowing their violent outcries, ripping the Spatial Fissures wider into bottomless chasms.

Deep within the dark vortex, lightning flickered, and the Hell Gate trembled fiercely.
