Chapter 240: Chapter 133 Wayne’s Hell Avatar_2

Wherever the Holy Spear passed, demons perished in its wake. Even if a few nimble lucky ones made it to Artley’s side, they couldn’t penetrate his defense, and their claws snapped upon contact with the Knight’s armor.

Artley, like a war god among sheep, chose to clear the field and slaughter all Magical Beings, since he couldn’t vanquish the Gluttonous Familiars.

Twenty squad members took Artley’s place, casting spells to expand the Holy Light Barrier, which trapped the Corpse Demon, rendering it unable to move.

The attack power of the Corpse Demon was limited. It wasn’t that it couldn’t be killed due to its own traits. In other aspects, its performance was unremarkable. Surrounded by the Tactical Squad, it blindly charged at "Mom" Mona’s position and never managed to escape.

The Holy Light Barrier was mighty in defense, not only trapping the Corpse Demon but also shielding the squad members from the external battle.

Wayne tried to blend in, but with the slots filled, he failed to insert himself into the barrier after several attempts.

He had no choice but to stay away from the main battlefield, engaging the monsters he had lured in a lively fight, their clash ringing with clinks and clanks.

Wayne donned the Death glove and the Dark Ring. The former wasn’t of particularly high quality, but the black spider legs it conjured were useful for entangling and intercepting, proving highly practical for crowd control.

The latter could summon a black veil that devoured the opponent’s attacks, rendering them ineffective.

With the aid of the two Magic Tools, Wayne fought with ease, so much so that while he casually fended off the demons, he contemplated making his escape.

The Thousand-Eyed Demon had yet to show itself, not even its avatars, indicating it was entangled in some major trouble.

The Holy See was sure to win this battle. Victory was assured!

Considering this, Wayne found no reason to stay at the vortex’s center. If he didn’t leave now, when the Holy See was wrapping up, his mask would be stripped away, and his handsome face would be exposed to all.

As easy as it had been to pinch a butt, so awkward it was now to repay the debt. He only wanted to be an unsung hero, not responsible for his irresponsible actions during his undercover time.

It was unwise to linger. Fight and retreat.

Wayne, pulling the monsters along, retreated towards the outskirts of the battlefield, and once far from the crowd, used the Death glove to entangle the demons tightly with a conjured black hand.

His crimson sword spilled guts, wind blades severed limbs, earth walls erected barriers, and high-temperature flames sanitized, while cleansing waters washed away the blood...

Through this routine, the experience points for destroying evidence of death increased in succession.

After dealing with the demon, Wayne continued to withdraw far from the battlefield, looking for a secluded corner to spread his flesh wings and return to the upper old city buildings.

Although the teleportation gate could not be activated, Yuliya was always waiting to be summoned. Once he was out of sight, he could...

"Bruce!"

Wayne’s heart skipped as he heard the voice of the Thousand-Eyed Demon. The white circlet on his forehead reminded him that he was a frontline character, and without thinking, he threw four crystal knives towards the source of the voice.

The Thousand-Eyed Demon nonchalantly knocked aside the four knives, squinted his eyes, and with a glance, the space around them twisted momentarily.

The white halo above Wayne’s head collapsed, and evil came online. The righteousness of the human world had nothing to do with him anymore; he became again the Thousand-Eyed Demon’s devoted lackey, Bruce.

"My lord, I did not intend to...,"

"No need to explain. I understand. Jeliff has bungled things up, and you’ve been wronged," the Thousand-Eyed Demon reassured his lackey, not pursuing the issue further.

Wayne was choked up and unable to speak, quickly saying, "Master, the teleport gate is down, probably the doing of the Holy See. They have invaded our stronghold and we’ve suffered heavy casualties. In my opinion, it’s better to endure them for twenty or thirty years and then take revenge after amassing power."

Twenty or thirty years? Do you have some misunderstanding about devils?

The Thousand-Eyed Demon almost laughed out loud. Devils are inherently black-hearted and ruthless, narrow-minded. If they really waited twenty or thirty years, there would be no need for revenge; a devil would die of anger in the first year.

"Don’t panic, everything is under my control. Jeliff and those incompetents are merely tools meant to buy time; they have completed their mission."

The Thousand-Eyed Demon waved his hand, opening a Spatial Fissure: "Follow me. The Gates of Hell have long been opened; it’s time they witness the grandeur of the Hell Demon Lord."

Which Demon King is it? The lazy one or the lecherous one?

Wayne followed behind the Thousand-Eyed Demon, looking curiously at the back of his neck, "My master, you said the Gates of Hell have long been opened. What do you mean by that?"

"This city of Lundan was once blessed by Lord Pride, with an entrance leading to Hell. Because of a seal, the entrance cannot stay open permanently, and it’s one-way, allowing entry only from the human world to Hell, but not from Hell into the human world," the Thousand-Eyed Demon slowly explained.

Wayne had a sudden revelation; he seemed to have heard a similar urban legend before, a subway line that went straight to Hell.

That’s the problem with big cities; notorious far and wide, they attract aliens, devils, evil gods, and supervillains alike, and occasionally, a landmark building gets destroyed.

"The Holy See thinks I’ve exhausted all efforts just to open the Gates of Hell. They’re not entirely wrong, but all I need to do is connect the gap opened by Lord Pride, and then my true self can descend upon the human world," said the Thousand-Eyed Demon.

Stepping through the teleportation gate, the Thousand-Eyed Demon led Wayne into his actual lair.

Similar to the second layer’s river of lava, a barren red soil continent devoid of any signs of life lay before them. The intense heat and omnipresent sulfur smell confirmed this wasn’t just a hologram; the Thousand-Eyed Demon had truly relocated his dominion from Hell to the human world.

Wayne felt something and looked up to the sky, where a black vortex dominated the dome, with black electricity coursing through it, appearing to be the entrance to another world.
