Chapter 232: Chapter 130: Hell is Complicated, the Human Path is Even More Treacherous_2
Wayne looked toward the warehouse—or rather, the map. The stick-figure drawing was rich in both pictures and words, offering a very detailed explanation.
Unbeknownst to Wayne, his decision to dismiss Mona was seen as a dissatisfaction by Archbishop Gunther—seeking to stabilize this "insider" and extract more surplus value, Gunther began to send out intelligence through Mona.
"So this can open the Hell Gate, and the Devil’s true form can descend upon the human realm?"
Wayne mumbled to himself, "What kind of seal is this? It’s so ineffective, it must be intentional, right?"
"It can only open the gate; the Devil’s true form cannot descend," Mona replied with a serious face.
Then why the hell are you telling me this?
Rolling his eyes, Wayne said, "So before the gate opens, my master can’t come in person, and after it opens, still can’t? What’s the point of opening it then."
"Although the Devil’s true form cannot descend, he can bring part of his territory from Hell to the human world," she explained.
"..."
So that’s how it is; the Ruined Ancient City that was divided is the territory of the Thousand-Eyed Demon in Hell.
"According to the high ranks of the Holy See, this is only the first step in the Devil’s plan. He will contaminate the human world with his Hellish territory to ensure his faith is spread. The process is irreversible; even Golden Mages will become confused after staying in the Devil’s territory for a long time, eventually becoming slaves to the Devil," Mona spoke with a somber expression.
"As the Devil’s faith grows in Hell, so will his power, and with the new vessel he obtains, his thought processes will greatly ascend, approaching his peak state in Hell..."
"At that point, the Devil will hold double dominions over both Hell and the human realm, and with the mutual accomplishment, his power will grow immensely, capable of challenging higher-ranked Demon Kings..."
"Similarly, with the feedback of power from Hell to the human world, the Devil will conquer all of Windsor from Lundan as a starting point, extending across the entire God-chosen Continent," she continued.
Mona laid out the possiblity inferred by the upper echelons of the Holy See—urgent as a blazing inferno, hoping "Bruce" would put in even more effort, bravely and fearlessly sacrifice without hesitation, to provide more intelligence.
After finishing, she looked at "Bruce" with admiration, the sacrifice of the mysterious undercover senior far exceeded imagination, and thinking back to her own misunderstanding of him earlier, her face reddened with shame.
You’re blushing like a teapot!
Also, don’t fabricate things—social trash doesn’t have such high-minded principles.
Wayne was quite aware of what kind of game the Holy See was playing, and he responded very simply.
It’s impossible!
He had reached the limit of what he could and could not sacrifice.
The Devil knows to lure people to their deaths with sweet promises, yet the Holy See, posing as the good guys, won’t give a dime, spouting moral platitudes without even bothering to paint a rosy picture.
You know that’s not how it’s done, right?
Wayne’s initial contact with the Holy See left him with a so-so impression; in contrast, the image of the Liberty Mage Alliance soared in his mind against the backdrop of his peers.
"I understand the situation now. The information you’ve brought back from the Holy See is extremely important. Keep up the good work, and there will be benefits for you," Wayne slapped his own butt, signaling Mona to continue drafting the Magic Array, reminding her not to forget to conceal it after completion.
That night, the two roamed the streets and alleys of Lundan, preparing all five marked locations.
Another sleepless night ensued.
At dawn, Wayne tried to retract the thoughts he had implanted in Mona, to completely sever the connection with the Holy See.
The result was not favorable; it was as if the upper echelons of the Holy See knew he would do this and added another layer of seal, locking away what he left inside Mona.
So good people are destined to have guns pointed at them!
Enraged, Wayne was ready to turn into a bad guy on the spot, to repay the Holy See in their own coin, starting by dealing with the honey trap.
Still holding on to a shred of moral bottom line, he slapped Mona hard on the butt, considering it a smack to the Holy See’s face.

September 21, dawn.
Grand Cemetery, West District.
Surrounded by dense fog, the Thousand-Eyed Demon looked upon the closely-packed yet isolated forest of tombstones, growing increasingly impatient.
The Death Knight was pulling rank—making him communicate through minions and schedule meetings in advance, thoroughly aggravating his ally.
"Thousand-Eyed Demon, you’re early," a voice stated.
It’s clearly you who are late!
With an inward scoff, the Thousand-Eyed Demon turned to face the Death Knight, arriving atop an Undead Warhorse: "Knight, there’s been a change of plans. In the past couple of days, Heavenly Father’s Court has been rounding up Hell’s believers for questioning; they must have learned something. I’ve decided to advance our plan to tomorrow night."
So sudden, is this really your plan?
Wayne’s skeletal face exuded black mist as he said discontentedly, "We agreed upon a month, yet you decide to move up the schedule without considering your ally. Do you even take me into account?"
With a sneer, he continued, "If it weren’t for your grand moves these past few days, which aroused the suspicion of Heavenly Father’s Court, they wouldn’t have gone all out to capture people."
"Now is not the time to shirk responsibility. Tomorrow night, I will launch a full-scale attack on St. Paul Cathedral. Keep an eye on the Life Alliance and prevent them from causing any trouble," said the Thousand-Eyed Demon.
"Once we succeed, we will join forces to exterminate the Life Alliance. All followers of the three Goddesses will be at your disposal, and you can open a second Underworld Great Tomb in Lundan. The faith in Death will inevitably experience an explosive growth," stated the Thousand-Eyed Demon.
Had it been the previous Death Knight, the Thousand-Eyed Demon’s offer, being so large and round, would likely not have been refused.
However, upon hearing this, Wayne felt nothing and after pondering for a moment, he replied, "That’s fine, but I’ll still retain half the command of the Magical Life Army. And when it comes to annihilating the Life Alliance, you’ll be the one playing the villain."
When have I ever played the good guy?
The Thousand-Eyed Demon almost laughed out loud and after a moment, he asked in surprise, "Knight, what’s your plan? You want me to eliminate the main force of the Life Alliance while you gain their trust by playing the good guy?"
"It’s none of your business. I have my own arrangements," Wayne replied.
Everyone had plans, and everyone had ideas. In an instant, the Thousand-Eyed Demon felt a newfound appreciation for the Death Knight.
Slightly clever, but not overly so. Always claiming not to trust the Devil, yet unable to resist temptation.
"Knight, I’m suddenly looking forward to it. I wonder how you intend to make the faith in Death replace that of the Life Alliance. I hope you won’t disappoint me when the time comes," said the Thousand-Eyed Demon.
"Wait and see..."
After all, the time hasn’t come!x2

The noon of September 21st was exceptionally hot, the sky was clear without a single cloud, and the sea breeze passing over the docks was heated to a scorch by the sun.
Beneath the city’s surface, in the depths, was base number three.
Red lips opened wide, howling with hunger, begging mom to feed them quickly.
Mona felt nauseous at heart, unwilling to deal with this monster. Seeing Wayne gesturing to her from the sofa, she hurried over as if granted amnesty.
Worried about being monitored by the Thousand-Eyed Demon, she sat directly on Wayne’s lap, whispering intimately, and called out "Master" in a coquettish voice, her face a mix of eagerness and impatience.
Wayne: (一`´一)
"I asked you to come over to pour tea, who told you to sit down? You have no situational awareness. Don’t you know that your master is not fond of women?"
The butler would never misunderstand!
Also, have some tea yourself, and stop touching me.
Wayne pushed away Mona’s hand that was reaching into his collar and said irritably, "I told you, I’m on idle play these days; solve your own problems."
He had received intel from Mona, which she brought back from the Holy See. They weren’t going to wait until the early morning; the Holy See would cast their net before the Thousand-Eyed Demon made a move.
Wayne had never relayed intel related to the Death Knight’s vest system to the Holy See; they were able to predict the Thousand-Eyed Demon’s plan for other reasons. This also indirectly confirmed that the demon’s original plan was to act on the early morning of September 22nd, and he hadn’t been truthful with his ally, the Death Knight, from the start.
That was understandable since it’s the Devil we’re talking about—trust no one but oneself.
Wayne calculated the time. The Holy See’s main forces could arrive at any moment. At this critical juncture, there was no need to continue the act. He casually threw Mona onto the adjacent sofa.
"Change your clothes. I liked the white robe you transformed into last time," Wayne said.
Mona nodded, took out a crucifix pendant from a compartment, and began mumbling incantations, initiating her transformation sequence.
Before and after the transformation, Mona’s strength was incomparable. With the buff’s enhancement, all her attributes increased. Other than a long transformation sequence that had the risk of being interrupted by the antagonists, there wasn’t much else to criticize.
Changing into the white robes of the Holy See’s Tactical Squad, Mona visibly restrained herself, fearing that continuing to sit on her master’s lap would desecrate the sacred uniform she now wore.
Wayne waved his hand, summoning a mist of water for Mona to wash away her thick makeup. He thought that by cleaning up the wayward look, he could contain the temptation, but to his surprise, Mona looked even more alluring in her sanctity.
Wayne didn’t bother to look as he had been too close recently, always subconsciously sensing a different aura about Mona.
"What’s wrong, Master? Is there a problem?" Mona asked, noticing Wayne’s strange expression, she looked at herself and spun in place.
The Holy See’s design for uniforms has major issues!
As Wayne was about to critique, his expression suddenly turned serious, and he gave Mona a meaningful look.
