Chapter 209: Chapter 121 Trouble with Deep Dialogue_3

"It’s hard to say, the other side is very dangerous, and I don’t want to engage with them at home."

Mona’s face was grave, "I hope they can follow. There aren’t many people around, it would be great to catch someone alive here."

"Bad luck for that guy, he’s in for a rough night." Nancy fiddled with the crucifix in her hand, hoping the mysterious person hadn’t been shaken off.

"Be careful, they might have a gun."

Mona took off her glasses, wiped them, and after putting them back on, she said, "They’re after me, I’m sorry for dragging you into this tonight."

"It’s okay, if it’s a heretic, I get half the credit, so it’s really me who has benefited from you." Nancy said with a smile, squinting her eyes.

As they spoke, Mona had already turned off the sedan’s engine, and with the headlights off, the silent street was left with only the flickering street lamps.

The fog was getting thicker.

"There’s something wrong with this fog."

Five minutes later, looking at the window where she couldn’t see her own fingers, Mona tried to start the car to leave, but the car that had been fine just a moment ago suddenly wouldn’t start, and several attempts failed to get it running.

Without hesitating, she took her friend and abandoned the car, swiftly moving away from the dense fog.

The sound of high heels was crisp and loud in the foggy night, accelerating their heartbeat. Mona, annoyed, decisively kicked her shoes far away.

Soon she realized that the annoyance wasn’t related to the sound of the high heels; it seemed to be some kind of spiritual magic hinting at fear and stress, constantly pressing on her through the surrounding environment and causing her heartbeat to quicken.

I’ve been careless!

The enemy wasn’t that simple; I shouldn’t have led them here.

As Mona thought this, Nancy, standing beside her, clutched her chest and stopped, her face pale, "I can’t keep running, my heart feels like it’s about to jump out."

"She’s right, if you keep running, your hearts are going to explode."

Wayne came into the light under the streetlamp with a hoarse voice, his eyes emitting a bloody red glow, "Nice sacrifice, it was worth the time I spent investigating you."

"Who are you?"

Mona protected her friend behind her, focusing on the mysterious person’s face that was so well-hidden, yet he had investigated her for many days, definitely encountering her in the meantime.

Who could it be?

"What, does my outfit make me look like a good guy?"

Wayne pulled out a gun and pointed it at Mona, "Please, make your lines a bit more profound, even if it’s a cliché, use your brain."

As his words fell, Nancy, hidden behind Mona, completed the magic. She raised her fingers, Holy Light came down in a circular barrier, drawing a prison on the ground and enclosing Wayne inside it.

If it hadn’t missed, it would have hit him.

Wayne easily dodged the sneak attack, lifting his fingers as the fog surged tumultuously, the wind coming fast and fierce, severely disrupting Mona’s vision, forcing her to use Holy Light Magic to resist.

She had a mission, and according to the rules, she couldn’t expose her faith during the mission. Now that she had been exposed, she couldn’t let the enemy leave.

The wind was too strong, the fog seemed alive.

Mona heard something beside her, the air burst, and her silk-stockinged leg kicked fiercely.

"Nice leg, too bad you missed."

Hearing the voice behind her, Mona was startled. The other person was moving freely in the fog, which obviously didn’t make sense.

By the time she turned around, what she saw was Nancy, with a face that read ’I tried my best’, and the mysterious person pointing a gun at Nancy’s head.

"Let her go, I’ll go with you."

No need for that, I’m just checking your faith.

Wayne chuckled darkly, tossed a silver bracelet, and slipped into the villain’s role, reading from the script, "Put it on, hands behind your back, no funny business, or else your friend’s head will explode."
