Chapter 208: Chapter 121 Trouble Dialogue Has Some Depth_2
Veronica sneered and patted her bandage-wrapped chest. She wasn’t a fool; how could she let a pervert take advantage every time?
Two minutes later, Veronica, clutching her butt, glared at the social trash, unable to hold back, and launched a verbal attack, spewing fragrant words.
Well brought up, even her cursing was nothing heavier than pervert, bastard, and shameless, fairly mild derogatory terms.
Her vocabulary was so limited that Wayne even got a bit excited.
"Instead of wasting time cursing there, you might as well hurry up and attack. Time waits for no one, and tonight Chris still has to tutor me!"
"Shameless! You’ve already perfected your Hexagram, what’s there left to learn in the basics?" Veronica fumed at the mention; that social garbage deceived everyone, even the gentle and kind senior girl.
"Can’t I reinforce it?"
Wayne seldom hid his true nature when facing Veronica, who had read his diary: "I just love to study, studying makes me happy."
Is that what you call studying? Pfft, I’m embarrassed for you!
"You wait, tonight I’m going to eat at your house, and then I’ll tell the senior that she’s been fooled by you."
No way that’s happening!
Wayne raised an eyebrow: "As you wish, but you have to beat me first. I won’t accept being talked about behind my back if you don’t win."
"I’ll beat you today!"
Megan: (눈_눈)
Calm down, Miss. How are you any different from a lady toyed with by the scum of society at this rate?
Boom!
Veronica stepped forward and instantly appeared beside Wayne, grabbing his collar and shoulder. She stepped to the side and went for a shoulder throw.
Hiss!
The throw didn’t happen. Instead, she ended up just ripping off Wayne’s shirt.
"What an angle!"
Looking at Veronica with her back turned toward him, Wayne’s hands formed a sword and fiercely poked under her ribs.
Veronica sucked in a cold breath and leaped three meters away, then turned her head and glared at the social trash, and in her exasperation, she started a close combat regardless of the fact that the adversary was shirtless.
"Hmph!"
"Ha!"
Megan: (눈‸눈)
Not bad, Master. The fact that he’s wearing pants is already a great restraint.

At six o’clock in the evening, Veronica, having bathed and changed into clean clothes, sat sullen on the passenger seat.
She hadn’t lost, but she hadn’t won either. With her pride, she couldn’t snitch to Chris without winning first.
Every time she thought about her senior being led by the social trash into the study for a tutoring session, alone together for an hour and a half each evening, her heart twinged with a faint pain.
Although the tutoring was genuine, Veronica couldn’t help but let her mind wander, imagining Wayne breaking lilies, a fly rubbing its hands with a mischievous grin, and black leather shoes crushing lilies underfoot.
"You better not bully the senior; she’s a good person."
"Quit it, as if I’ve bullied you."
"Hmph!"
"Ha!"
At nine o’clock in the evening, the tutoring session ended.
By then Veronica had already left, and the stocking quality inspector, seeking the help of two dimwitted employees, successfully refreshed their level of shame.
...
"You really are indispensable, Vili. I’ll get you in a maid costume soon."
The mist lay thick in the streets of Lundan; Wayne poked his head out of the sewer, using the fog and the shadow of the buildings to make his way to Mona’s front door.
To avoid being recognized by the female staff and tarnishing his boss’s reputation, he had disguised himself in the sewer.
Raised cheekbones, thickened eyebrows, and he wore a mask that only exposed the eyes topped with a black bowler hat.
Still not enough!
The target was a detective; any small oversight could potentially reveal him.
Out of caution, Wayne not only disguised himself but also altered his physical features through the Essence of Life. The swelling muscles altered his build somewhat.
Without merging with The Book of Greed, this was the limit of what Wayne could achieve. If he had to add anything more, he’d have had to put on stockings.
At the front door, Wayne took out two hairpins and effortlessly unlocked the door.
Mona lived alone in a two-and-a-half-story villa, similar in design to Wayne’s previous Detective Agency. He closed his eyes and sniffed the air; the scent was faint, indicating that the target wasn’t at home.
"So late and not home, you don’t seem to be strapped for cash, so you’re probably not working a part-time job outside..."
After a thorough search, Wayne found no secret doors in the basement storeroom and discovered a handgun in the hidden compartment of the bedside table.
He took the gun, went back to the living room on the first floor, and leaned against the sofa, sinking into the shadows.
About an hour later, a car stopped by the villa, and two voices came to Wayne’s ears.
"Nancy, it’s late. Why don’t you stay at my place tonight?"
"I don’t mind, but will your boyfriend have any objections?"
"Don’t be silly, I’m a devout believer with faith. I won’t have a boyfriend..."
Mona and her friend left the theater and returned home. As the key was inserted into the lock, Mona’s smile abruptly froze. She smirked, turned around, and pulled her friend along: "I left some stuff in the car, help me carry it."
"Such a hassle, so forgetful."
The two laughed and returned to the car. They started the vehicle and sped away.
Wayne: (꒪⌓꒪;)
Well, it’s a good thing not all my boats are that clever; otherwise, I would have fallen into the water long ago.
"Run then, I want to see where you can flee to. If it’s the church, I don’t even need to probe."
Wayne squinted, contacted Ah Bin in the fog to follow, and he himself re-entered the sewer.
...
The car left the West District of Lundan and entered the deserted streets of the South District.
Few vehicles passed by, the sickly moon hung gloomily, and the street lights flickered. No need for a set; just bring in the actors and a horror film could be shot straight away.
"Did we shake them off?"
From the passenger seat, Nancy whispered,"Who do you think it was? A heretic, an assassin, or someone you’ve crossed during your investigations?"
