Chapter 196: Chapter 116: Fist to Flesh, Hexagram Converges_3
Boom!
The warehouse wall caved in, revealing a web of cracks, as Sigma became embedded in the wall, motionless.
He hissed, emitting steam as his swollen muscles contracted back to their original shape, his hollow eyes empty and unfocused as they dimmed, losing their light.
This time, no faces twitched on his, as the blood flowed down the wall, pooling on the ground.
Boom!
An afterimage flashed by, as the thick warehouse wall collapsed into rubble.
With one punch, Wayne collapsed Sigma’s chest cavity and smashed him into the warehouse, looking at the motionless body he then wound up and kicked the bent head with all his might.
Crack!
A head flew out, shattering against the wall, smearing everything around it.
Wayne had to repeatedly make sure of his kill to barely confirm that the enemy was indeed dead.
But that wasn’t enough!
He summoned the Fire Element, his fingers digging into the mushy chest cavity, roasting it from the inside out into char.
Only through repeated finishing moves and not eradicating all traces of the body did the villain act; the heroes all knew to leave the body behind. Otherwise, with no body, there was no proof, Wayne could not prove his innocence in the Cathedral’s warehouse theft.
Having dealt with the enemy, Wayne wiped the blood and mud off his face, turning it into a clump, as a mist of water materialized in front of him, washing the filth from his hands.
He pulled out a handkerchief to dry the water stains, put on white gloves, and started to search through the first area.
Statues and art pieces were exquisite and gorgeously ancient, of great value for collectors; even the replicated Armor and weapons were masterpieces. Though imitations, their artistic value was sky-high, able to fetch a good sum of money.
"What a pity, the trunk isn’t big enough, these treasures and I are not meant to be," Wayne said with regret as he felt around and shook his head.
"Mr., Mister Wayne..."
Bishop Keith, bound and gagged, opened his eyes, and in his dazed state, he caught a glimpse of Wayne’s sneaky figure.
"What Mister Wayne, having become my dog, you still pine for outsiders." Wayne lowered his voice, stepped forward briskly, and knocked Keith out with a chop of his hand.
He entered the second area of the warehouse, found a box, dumped valuable jewelry into it, and, huffing and puffing, carried it to the garden, controlling the vines to transfer it underground.
"Right, the robes, I nearly forgot to return what belongs to its owner," he remembered.
Afterward, Wayne went to the third area and abducted nearly a hundred precious old books.
He left a third for future borrowing.
Having taken care of everything, Wayne summoned the mist again to wash his face and took off the white gloves before going over to Keith.
The vines released, dropping all the clergy, and Wayne called out loudly, with an urgent tone and a serious expression as if he were guarding justice itself!
"Bishop Keith, Bishop, wake up!"
"..."
Keith, groggy, opened his eyes, touching the back of his neck and grimacing, said, "Mr. Wayne, why did you knock me out just now?"
"Bishop Keith, what nonsense are you talking about, I just defeated the Devil’s disciple, when did I lay a hand on you?"
Wayne looked perplexed, asking, "Think again, did you remember wrong, or did you mistake someone else for me?"
Was that how it was?
Keith’s head was spinning, his thoughts felt drained, his muscles ached all over. After thinking hard about it, considering his dizziness before, he might indeed have been mistaken.
"Damn, the Devil’s servant!"
Keith, as if waking from a dream, suddenly sprang up from the ground.
He only remembered chasing someone into a café, then everything went dark, and the whole world plunged into darkness.
Keith patted his confused head, trying to recall, "I remember confessing to the Father, and one night, of many people, and black candles..."
