Chapter 1306: Chapter 438: The Devil Not Only Won’t Slander You, But Will Also Praise You_2

The Lord Pride chuckled as he looked at the shameless old Hexuno, inwardly mocking his arrogance. Without that crucial seal, Wayne wouldn’t even have a path to exert his power. By rounding up the circumstances, it was essentially his doing that led to Hexuno’s downfall.

By the same logic, Kiraal’s fall was also his accomplishment.

The Lord Pride glanced at Kiraal, sniffed the air, and covered his nose with a disdainful expression: "Such an awful stench. May I ask if Your Grace is the Archangel of Temperance, Kiraal?"

Kiraal’s expression remained calm. His situation was complicated—long explanations were wasteful, and short ones wouldn’t suffice. There was no need to elaborate here.

To put it briefly, his self-imposed sleep was for investigating the Lord Pride hidden in Lundan. To avoid exposure, he repeatedly tolerated Kel’s shenanigans in the Fallen Angel Bar.

Kel was himself, yet he was not Kel. Kel’s lack of temperance ≠ Kiraal’s lack of temperance.

In any case, the Demon King’s accusations held no weight. Kiraal had a clear conscience; his fellow angels wouldn’t believe the Demon King’s lies either.

Believers and ordinary mortals wouldn’t believe them. Devils have no credibility, and anything they say about angels is mere defamation and slander.

When the enemy maligns me, it proves my innocence.

By the same logic, Uriel understood this as well. He met the Lord Pride’s gaze without a shred of hesitation and mockingly said, "Speak, Devil, what kind of slander do you have for me this time?"

"No, no, no, far from it," the Lord Pride replied, his tone dripping with irony. "When facing the true generosity of the Seven Virtues, a devil wouldn’t slander you. Instead, they would praise you."

The Lord Pride burst into laughter: "You generously shared so much with me—intel on the reincarnated angels, stigmata, public acknowledgment of the Demon King, and the Saint Heir’s secrets. Why would I have anything bad to say about you?"

With that said, he cackled uncontrollably.

The devil’s laughter was the ultimate mockery of the angels.

Vikul’s face darkened, glaring at his three colleagues. "Look at the mess you’ve caused, nearly laughing a Hell Demon Lord to death."

Thinking about it, perhaps it was a good thing.

Titus’s belly was growing larger by the day—what could be concealed for now couldn’t be hidden after ten months. Eventually, the reincarnated angels would know. If everyone had skeletons in their closet = no one has skeletons in their closet, then nobody would mock him with veiled sarcasm.

Vikul, you better not get angry, or you’ll make mistakes too! x3

Aside from me, none of you three are good angels! x3

The Lord Pride didn’t do anything except enjoy the show and repeat the truth, successfully sowing discord among the four members of the Seven Virtues.

Due to political correctness, they didn’t lash out at each other but instead adjusted their stance to unanimously target the Lord Pride, closing in step by step to trap him in the middle.

Having been thoroughly mocked by the Lord Pride just moments before, their morale was at an all-time low. Uriel felt uneasy—deprived of his usual moral high ground for finger-pointing, he felt like something was missing.

He was missing righteousness!

Uriel knew he had to say something to boost morale and prevent Hexuno from seizing leadership. He took the lead and spoke: "Pride, you went through all that trouble to acquire the stigmata. The stigmata contains the Angel’s Golden Rule. Admit it—you’re planning to use the stigmata to disguise your identity and infiltrate Heaven!"

Huh?

I never thought of that!

The Mortal World is so much better. What’s so exciting about Heaven? Just glaring at each other?

Well, I might as well go to Hell instead!

The Lord Pride wiped the smile off his face and said seriously, "Now that you’ve seen through me, I have nothing to hide anymore. Yes, that’s exactly what I’m thinking. Go ahead, deploy heavy forces to guard the Gates of Heaven. Better yet, station an entire Angel Legion—too few, and you won’t be able to stop me."

A truly arrogant response, perfectly fitting the Lord Pride’s style.

The Demon King wanting to invade Heaven and openly declaring it ignited a surge of righteous fury, instantly boosting the morale of the reincarnated angels.

Battle was imminent.

Vikul was the first to strike.

The gentle angel had been plagued with misfortune lately, stumbling upon all sorts of troubles. Bottling up his anger with no outlet, he targeted the Lord Pride as his venting point. He raised a Holy Light Greatsword toward the sky.

Golden light flashed in an instant, the surging Golden Rule Holy Intent erupted, and a colossal Holy Light Magic Array unfurled slowly across the surface of the ocean.

High above, Holy Light cascaded downward like an avalanche. Countless beams of sacred light coalesced into a massive, towering silhouette suspended upside down in the sky.

The silhouette appeared humanoid, consisting only of an upper torso with three misshapen heads and more than a dozen arms, paired in gestures resembling solemn prayer.

An eerie figure, yet with its flowing golden ribbons, the drifting white feathers filling the air, and the arms raised high holding magnificent crucifixes, the scene immediately radiated an aura of sanctity.

Light illuminated the Earth, overwhelming Holy Intent swept across the ocean and sky, its terrifying pressure solidifying all spaces bathed in its radiance.

Vikul’s opening move was his Ultimate Move, eliciting a subtle "Hmm?" from the Lord Pride.

He roared with laughter, raising one hand: "Vikul, have you lost your wits? You’re using a method meant for fighting devils against me, an angel—what a waste of effort!"

With his words, the massive inverted silhouette faded into nothingness, and Vikul’s Ultimate Move was effortlessly nullified by Pride.

Calm and nonchalant, as if it took no effort.

The Lord Pride cast a condescending look at Vikul: "Old friend, your awakening time has been too brief. Your current power is no match for mine. Best we start with you first."

With a slight flutter of his sacred wings, Pride’s figure vanished on the spot. A residual flash of light streaked, darting toward Vikul with a speed invisible to the naked eye.

Clang!

The clash of metal rang out—a Sword of Oath intercepted the Lord Pride mid-air.

Hexuno.

"Hexuno, this sword belongs to Michael. Your relationship with him seems merely average. Why not hand the sword over to me instead? After all, I possess the Blood of Saint George, making me far more qualified to wield it." The Lord Pride narrowed his eyes, pressing down the Holy Light Greatsword.
