Chapter 1280: Chapter 431: The Demon God Returns to His Loyal Hell_4

"Boss, I..."

"I’ve made up my mind. The priority here is the Devils. If the one who ambushed me truly is Lord Pride, the leader of the Seven Demon Kings, his painstaking descent to the Mortal World is definitely not just to enjoy the thrills of earthly pleasures."

Wayne glanced at Hexuno: "Even if it were me, or even the Saint Heir standing in front of him, he would directly confront the Demon King, wouldn’t he?"

Hexuno couldn’t argue and nodded helplessly.

"Stop sitting around. Go ask at the Cathedral if there have been any Angels around in the past couple of days. If there have, pass the word to Uriel; tell him Hexuno wants to meet."

Wayne patted his backside, and after Hexuno got up, he picked up the phone on the table: "I need to make a trip to Lando Manor. The Royal Family seems to have found themselves a new ally. I have to discuss this with the old man at home; otherwise, he might walk right into being surrounded by Angels while going on a date with the Queen without knowing a thing."

On the other end, Austin wasn’t home, nor was Butler Megan.

At this hour, they were either at the Magical Department Headquarters or Buckingham Palace.

Wayne waited for five minutes, and the phone finally rang. Austin, who was at the Magical Department Headquarters, answered the call and asked what urgent matter Wayne had.

"Not convenient to talk over the phone. Get home. I’ve got something troublesome to discuss with you."

Wayne hung up the phone and called for the two women to get in the car.

He made a detour to St. Paul Cathedral but didn’t see any hint of the Reincarnated Angels lodging there. The black sedan started again, heading toward Lando Manor.

On the way, they passed by another luxury black sedan.

In the backseat of that car, flanked on both sides by companions, was Felster—that is, Lord Pride himself. He glanced left, glanced right, then lowered his head in deep thought.

"All seven Reincarnated Angels have arrived in Lundan..."

"Have I, have I been exposed?!"

"Probably, yes. Last time, when I sealed Hexuno, Kiraal even detected my presence..."

"Damn it, I should’ve played it cool back then. I can’t resist being prideful—and when the hell am I going to kick this lousy habit..."

Felster sighed with mixed emotions. He was having a pretty good time in the Mortal World. When he felt happy, he sold a few more lottery tickets. When he wasn’t, he slashed cigarette prices. In his spare time, he had a ton of fun watching the chaos unfold around him. The last thing he wanted was to be sent back to Hell.

"It’s not a big deal. I’m human for now, and at the very least, possess the Bloodline of Michael as a High Order Angel. They can’t possibly figure me out..."

"Makes sense!"

Felster said to himself, feeling fairly confident he had things under control.

Soon though, his curiosity got the better of him. Among the Reincarnated Angels were Hexuno, Kiraal, and two of the Seven Virtues. With such a massive gathering, they couldn’t have come just for him.

Moreover, though he hadn’t paid close attention earlier, the three Reincarnated Angels at Buckingham Palace didn’t seem simple. One of them even seemed like an old friend.

The only ones who could be called old friends by a Demon King among the Seven Deadly Sins would have to be one of the Seven Virtues; no other Angels would qualify.

"Weird, three of the Seven Virtues have descended..."

"Terrifying!"

"What’s Heaven up to? Are they planning to ignite a war of faith?"

"A bunch of jerks. What’s so bad about the Mortal World as it is? All they know to do is cause destruction day after day. Even as a Devil, I can’t stand watching this nonsense."

Felster snorted coldly, hesitating over whether or not to spy on the Reincarnated Angels’ meeting.

But if he were discovered, it would blow his cover instantly, and his blissful days would come to a screeching halt. No way was he doing something so idiotic.

Then again, not looking wasn’t an option either—his curiosity was utterly unstoppable.

After pondering for a long time, Felster decided to find someone else to check for him. With all the Insectoids in the Tulip Family and the Magic Department, adding one Devil to the mix didn’t seem overboard, right?

"Completely reasonable—perfectly fine."

Felster closed his eyes and rummaged mentally through his figurative storage rack: "Who should I pick...? Barny’s a useless idiot; he doesn’t even understand Magic..."

"Rupert treated me to dinner not long ago, but he didn’t make it as Prime Minister and got crushed by his political enemies. He’s doing so poorly right now—it’d be inappropriate to trouble him..."

"Bedford’s not bad. He’s a Legendary Mage; he’s got the power. Ever since the Lando Family took over the shipyard, he’s shifted and stolen my business..."

"Pfft, what a joke. You’re not even a Devil and yet trying to sell the same cigarettes as me!"

Felster opened his eyes: "It’s decided then—Beldefort Bedford. Go take a look at Buckingham Palace and see who exactly that old friend is."
