Chapter 1189: Chapter 409: Bring a Marker Over, I Have a Big Use for It

"Ahhh————"

"It’s so hot!"

"Hahaha———"

"I’m gonna die!"

"You, why aren’t you dead yet?"

"Almost, almost. I’m about to be burnt to death."

"..."

"Burn me more, I’m almost there."

"..."x2

Cote struggled to withdraw her hand and teleported repeatedly to distance herself from Wayne, frowning deeply as she watched the devil stroll leisurely through the lava.

The clothes on Wayne were shaped by his mind and didn’t deform under the terrifying high temperature; even his hairstyle remained undisturbed.

Such a strong resistance to flames, does it have anything to do with the territory of Hell and the magma?

Cote assessed the situation and quickly noticed something was off.

She couldn’t reclaim the Fire Elements wandering around; these short-tempered little things were howling and charging towards Wayne, completely ignoring her and not even granting her a backward glance.

Fire Element: Stop trying to connect, afraid of a misunderstanding with Wayne.

"It’s not fire resistance, but Fire Elemental Affinity..."

Cote’s forehead broke into a cold sweat: "To my knowledge, the devils with the strongest Fire Elemental Affinity are Pride, Wrath, and Lust among the Seven Demon Lords. Which one are you?"

"To my knowledge, the one with the strongest Fire Elemental Affinity is the Sun Knight possessing the Dawn Admonition. You might want to consider that," Wayne retorted sarcastically.

"Even now, you still want to argue."

Cote pulled down her hood and flung her golden robe to the side.

Underneath the robe, her tall and robust figure was striking, especially her conspicuously long legs.

As the Holy Maiden of the Sun Church, Cote’s appearance needed no description – her face was well-defined, her delicate features as if sculpted by a Goddess, her golden eyes bright and imposing.

What stood out most was her head of red hair which fell like satin, elegant and passionate, shining with a golden glow, as if engulfed in flames.

Judging by how often she burst into laughter, her personality was probably as fiery as her hair.

"Guinevere, this devil is quite interesting. Leave it to me; don’t get in my way," Cote said with pride: "Five minutes! I’ll take him down within five minutes!"

Moonlight Holy Maiden Guinevere remained silent and gracefully stepped aside, clearly very confident in her plastic sister’s abilities.

Wayne secretly found this amusing, but this wasn’t his reason for brutally beating the Sun Holy Maiden. Tactfully he said, "Why don’t you both come at me? Five minutes is too tough. I’m afraid I can’t last two minutes without beating you three-quarters to death."

"Your mouth is quite poisonous!"

"It’s sweet, try it if you don’t believe me."

"..."

Cote, with veins popping on her forehead, finally initiated her attack, unable to bear it any longer.

She stepped out, her Life Force Field spreading and enveloping Wayne, also providing a front-row seat for Guinevere to closely admire her combat prowess against the devil.

The world of flames spanned from the heavens to the earth; everything near and far was ablaze with red. A grand sun hung in the sky, unleashing boundless heatwaves that baked and twisted the entire world.

Wayne felt it was rather cool.

He always took unconventional paths, and no matter how the Life Force Field changed or who his opponent was, visiting their "house" always felt like coming home.

Seeing that Wayne was unaffected and even enjoying it, Cote inwardly cursed the difficulty but remained undisturbed outwardly; however, she was on high alert.

She decided not to embarrass herself with petty tricks like manipulating the five senses; devils have powerful minds and are unaffected by Life Force Fields, to do so would only be a laughingstock.

Cote closed her eyes, her body wrapped in a whirlwind, whipping her clothes into a flurry.

With a spark, the sea of fire converged, forming a Phoenix wreathed in flames with unfurling wings.

Wayne was familiar with this creature; it was a cruel fate that now, his ability to fly and his heat vision were all derived from Phoenix blood, deeply connected to the Sun Church.

If he were to kill Cote and torment her into becoming a Resentful Spirit right before death, perhaps signing a contract with a new Resentful Spirit, he might take another step forward on the path of the Sun’s child.

After a moment of contemplation, Wayne decisively gave up.

One shouldn’t be too devilish in life!

Boom!!!

Cote, wrapped in flames, with the Phoenix’s eyes a mix of gold and red, spirited as if alive, lunged forward like a shooting star towards Wayne.

Her golden claws ripped through the air smoothly slicing the fabric of the atmosphere and aimed straight at Wayne’s neck.

Clap!

The afterimage flickered, and Wayne suddenly darted into the Phoenix’s illusion, disregarding the raging fire; as he came face-to-face with Cote, an uppercut landed on her chin, executing a smooth, lightning-fast Dragon Punch.

Cote grunted, her pale neck stretched out as her body uncontrollably lifted into the air.

Wayne posed ready, his arms swaying shadows, without seeing the punches, only punch marks indented Cote’s chest and abdomen.

He grabbed her ankle, whirling her around with a gust, took a step causing the air to burst, and dived towards the ground, dragging the Phoenix’s illusion in a high-speed plummet from the sky.

Now, it truly became a meteor.

Boom!!

The sea of fire roared and exploded, scattering countless sparks, with waves of red tide surging in all directions.

In the center, a huge crater looked much like an impact site.

Wayne, holding onto Cote’s ankle, flashed a slight smile at her: "How’s the force? If it’s not enough, I can put in a bit more power."

Cote’s world spun, listening to Wayne’s voice; as she collected her senses, she found herself upside down with one leg hanging in mid-air in an inelegant posture.

Without a second thought, she bent her knees to leverage and hooked her other long leg around Wayne’s neck, attempting to execute a ground move to entangle with him.

Wayne raised his hand in front of him to prevent a terribly awkward situation, but as he touched her, he realized, her counterattack was spot-on, if only a bit too perfect.
