Chapter 1113: Chapter 390: Sewer, Wax Paper, Screw, Craftsman
Staring at the red marks on the map, Wayne fell into deep thought.
It’s no secret that he considered getting rid of Little Mustache before coming here.
If the New Empire Chancellery is Prussia’s brain, then Little Mustache Hiddel is the brain of the Chancellery, his influence on the country is unmatched.
When Hiddel says go east, the Chariot won’t go west; when Hiddel says catch chickens, the Party Guard Corps wouldn’t dare chase dogs.
Such high prestige, so terrifying!
Killing Little Mustache would...
The war would still continue.
The fight has started, and it’s going well; there is no reason to stop now.
The difference is, without Hiddel’s oratory skills and lacking prestige, others are not qualified to declare themselves as Leader after taking office; at most, they can be considered Prime Minister.
The speed of the Chariot would steeply decline, unable to achieve the sweeping victories across the world.
This way, the supposedly impregnable defences would remain as such, and the Frankish people would no longer have to worry about Prussians talking loudly.
In Wayne’s view, Little Mustache’s life or death does not affect Prussia’s ultimate strategy, but without Little Mustache, the left wheel of the Chariot wouldn’t turn if the right did, it wouldn’t be able to run, much less run fast.
For the sake of world peace, Little Mustache would just have to cope with dying before his plans are fulfilled.
Wayne narrowed his eyes, deciding to do it.
"Boss, you’re not thinking about that, are you?"
Regina peered over, seeing several red marks on the map, including the New Empire Chancellery, and immediately guessed what Wayne was thinking.
"Can’t I?"
"Boss, why are you looking at me like that? I’m completely loyal to you," Regina said with grievance.
"Tch, you traitor to Prussia, on behalf of the nation, on behalf of the Leader, I shoot you!"
Wayne grabbed Regina’s head and gave it a couple of rubs, curiously saying, "As far as I know, Little Mustache’s approval rating is off the charts in Prussia, as a Prussian, don’t you want to persuade me?"
"High approval rates are because those who disobey are dead," Regina said, straightening her hair.
It was a night known as ’Long Knives’; she was then a naive girl, unaware of what happened, only understanding it after her father mentioned it later.
"Ah, you have a father?"
"More than that, I have a mother and a sister too, impressive, right?" Regina retorted sarcastically.
"That’s not what I meant, I never heard you mention them before..."
"Clearly, it’s because you, the boss, don’t care about your employees. Compared to Odilia, I’m just an invisible nobody," Regina said with a sense of wrong.
"Shut it, I’m the only one who can interject here."
Wayne snorted, as a boss one only needs to care if the secretary looks good and is competent in their work; it would be weird to concern oneself with a secretary’s family situation. Regina speaking like this clearly indicated she was defiant and needed to be disciplined.
Wayne gestured for Odilia to come over, gave her a couple of spanks on the butt: "This intensity, double it for Regina."
Odilia covered her mouth, giggling while handing out five slaps under Regina’s resentful gaze.
"Odilia, double means four slaps, you gave five."
"I studied history, I’m bad at math, it’s forgivable if I miscalculated."
"That’s a primary school level math!"
"I’ve been bad at math since I was little, that’s why I studied history!"
The two secretaries bickering amused Wayne who, after watching for five minutes, clenched his fist and coughed lightly: "Alright, enough arguing, let me say something fair, Odilia studied history, it’s understandable she is bad at math."
I knew it!
Regina rolled her eyes, knowing as just a small secretary she couldn’t win against someone who slept in; expecting the boss to treat everyone equally was impossible.
"Regina, what does your father do? I recall you seem to be a noble lady?"
"A minor noble, our ancestors had their days of glory, but not anymore."
"My father is a Priest for the Natural Church’s Prussian District, and my mother’s family is in business. It’s like bundling up for warmth, I guess."
"Interesting, I’ll come for dinner at your place sometime."
"Ah, this..."
"What now, can’t I, as the Divine Oracle High Priest, have dinner at a Priest’s home?" Wayne hummed.
"Boss, you might not believe me, but the last time I went home, I said I was going to work in Lundan, and my parents objected strongly. They insisted I was being deceived by some bad man from Lundan. It was hard to explain, so I just went along with it and left home in pursuit of love..." Regina trailed off, her voice growing softer.
What filial piety!
Wayne nodded and patted Regina’s shoulder: "Even more interesting, I’m set on this meal. Don’t worry, with our relationship, for any lies you’ve told, I’d go to great lengths to make them come true."
Regina looked distressed, knowing well that when Wayne visited, there would be chaos at home.
"There’s a big issue on Prussia’s side, your father, being a District Priest... give him a call, ask him to lay low for a while, not to be used by others and become a scapegoat."
With that, Wayne’s brow furrowed: "No, can’t call, after I finish the task, I’ll visit your house and warn him in person."
"Boss, Nelson is the Pope’s Secretary Officer; he won’t be in trouble... right?"
"Our own people won’t be in trouble, even if he really rebels, he can be exonerated; the fear is that he can’t control himself. There are projects in Prussia involving Devil’s Containers, being a Succubus, you should know what I’m talking about."
"Ssss—"
Regina gasped, worry gave way to panic.
"Don’t worry, nothing will happen. Even if your father gets controlled, or if he gets turned into a Devil’s Container, I could do a surgery to turn him back," Wayne consoled.
He added, "The kind of surgery like with the Princess, not like what happened with Saina and the others."
